"come on, I think the others are in trouble."

Leon's warning made Aleithe turn around from the enemies he saw on the other side of the corridor, and towards those that currently were attacking Ada. Leon was faster on his feets and dealt with one of the barbarians before Aleithe could get there. There were still more enemies however, and so Aleithe rushed forward, and struck at the Archer not far from behind the fighter with his sword. Archers would be defenseless from this close of a range, and Aleithe hoped that he would be able to kill him in one blow. Leon seemed to have already focused himself to take care of the wounded Ada, and so Aleithe turned around to focus on the enemies, preparing himself in particular to deal with the fighter not far away.

[spoiler=OOC]

Went to the square directly underneath Leon, attacked the Archer with a normal attack with an iron sword. designated the fighter to counter.

Ada had barely managed to deflect the brunt of the barbarian's blow, still losing her breath at the sheer pain it caused her. She had just managed to return a shot at the bandit before receiving an arrow in her arm, prompting a scream of pain from the shaman. Her body ached, she was losing more blood than she would like, and she was shaking as she tried to stand her ground against the two bandits assaulting her. She could hear more down the hallway as she panted, reaching at her body for her vulnerary.

"I can't. They'll take advantage of the time I spend using the medicine..." Looking behind her, she shot glare back at Cassia, gritting her teeth and breathing a little heavily. "Run. Now."

She intended to hold up the hole so that the thief could escape... But before either of them could move, Leon appeared from the ether, slicing through the barbarian, with Aleithe on his heels to apprehend the archer. Ada sighed in relief, clutching at her injured arm.

"Never better, boss..." Taking a step back and to Cassia's side, shooting her magic at the archer and biting her lip hard enough to draw more blood. She had to make this shot, otherwise everyone would get hurt even worse...! As the attack was fired, she slumped against Cassia, shaking slightly. "Hey... Stay here, will ya...? I need a bit of help..."

[spoiler=OOC]Ada moved up one, right one, attacking Archer B and designating Fighter F for counterattack.

"Everyone!" Rona called out, trying to sound authoritative. "Get back, find cover, you're too open, you need to re-position now." The way Layne flinched made Raynor think that Rona was somehow a superior in this group. How that was, he wasn't too sure. You would think healers would be higher up since they looked after everyone, so they could force someone to get medical attention. Then again, he was never really part of a group before. Maybe there was something he was just missing.

"Stay alive for a bit longer, I'm coming to heal you next, but right now, we need to thin their numbers. Stay alert!" Layne called out. Raynor nodded as he got read to attack.

"Can do," He responded before turning in Rona's direction. "Hey kettle, stop calling the pot black!" Raynor called out as he went to stab the axe user in the chest. "You're far more in the open than we are. So either you re-position as well, or we're stuck here until we get rid of that archer!" After all, they couldn't let her get shot out of the sky. She was far too valuable of an asset.

Well, this whole ambush thing hadn't gone quite as well as Cassia would have liked. The barbarian she and Ada attacked let out a bellowing roar, and a resounding "Kill them!" could be heard in response throughout the fort. Not good. An archer even ran up and shot Ada! Rude! Cassia was about to try stabbing her way through to the archer, but it seemed that would be easier than she'd expected. Leon showed up just in the nick of time, killing the barbarian that got between Cassia and the archer she was after.

And then the unexpected happened. Not the usual unexpected of "oh, this battle's odds are a lot less favorable than I first imagined" or "hey, that bluff totally worked!". This was something Cassia never really expected in any type of situation. Ada slumped over, leaning onto Cassia.

"Hey... Stay here, will ya...? I need a bit of help..."

Well, as Cassia saw it, there were two options. Let Ada die to bandits who could swarm her and the other Falcons down, then get killed by those bandits herself later. Or, protect Ada, and earn her gratitude and possibly a favor. It wasn't something Cassia had to think twice about. "One serving of help, coming right up," she stated, moving herself between the shaman and the bandits. One bandit at a time, she'd have to take care of them. That archer had to go first though.

"Oi!" she called out, grabbing another knife for the sake of throwing. "Name's Cassia Falco, and I'm here to take your loot and protect cute girls! And it'll be a lot easier to do both of those things real soon, so you'd better stop me before you're all broke and dead!" With that bold declaration, Cassia made her move, throwing her dagger forward with a plan to hit the fighter down the hall. And it didn't seem like he had many options other than fighting back or running away; that hall was pretty narrow-looking. Cassia was ready for that.

Stay behind me, okay?

[spoiler=OOC]Moved one space down and one space to the right, putting herself between Ada and the banditos. Attacked Fighter F and targeted them for counter

After Leon had managed to fell the bandit, Aleithe had run into to follow up on his attack. The Kinshi-less rider had slashed their blade across the Archer's torso, causing him to kneel down in pain, only for an orb of dark smoke to strike him in the face. With a snapping noise, the man's neck bent unnaturally far back as the archer felt to the ground. While the bandits were only further enraged by this, the closest one was stopped as he was struck by two daggers into his torso.

Snarling in rage, the fighter looked back saying, "I'll kill the devil, you two kill the girl!"

"The one with the sword or the dagger?"

"The dagger!"

"Got it."

With that, the fighter ran past Cassia and brought up his axe. With a swing, he managed to strike Ada and bring her to nearly critical status. With a wide grin on his face, feeling as though success was inevitable. This feeling was cut short as he was blown back by a blast of dark magic to the gut, falling to the ground and lying there motionless. The other bandits had begun to charge up going through the corridor as well, both shocked and enraged that Ada had managed to kill yet another one of the bandits. Honoring his comrades last words, the man with the sword had managed to strike Cassia in the side, dealing a large blow to her and causing her to double over in pain. it was during this time, that an axe had swung over where she was just a moment before, missing due to this.

In the back, some of the bandits almost met back up with their leader.

The thief, who was starting to make his way to where the violence was happening heard something. He heard the fighting and the noises were only getting less and less. However, he didn't hear the usual bragging that the rest of the bandits would've done if things were going their way. Which meant things were probably not. Being none too adept at combat, the thief figured now would be a good time to bolt out of here, hiding behind and peering over a pillar to see if the group was coming towards him.

With all of the attacks having passed, Leon's eyes widened in panic as he saw his comrades get nearly struck down. This panic then turned into a look of fury, gripping his blade tighter as his voice seemed somehow more level and stoic than normal. "Ada, Cassia, get back." Going past Cassia, Leon gripped his blade with both hands. As he got into position, the mercenary turned around, too late, as the boy's blade has slashed across his arm. Yelling in pain, the man looked poised to fight back against Leon, raising up his blade only for the boy to lock blades, forcing the man into a clash.

Rona swung her axe at the mercenary, and in her panic the injured man had managed to easily dodge out of the way. Bringing up his sword, he had managed to strike Rona and then with another swing he struck her yet again. Though his blows were doing very little for damage, and he himself was near death, the sword wielding bandit was feeling all the more confident that he would be able to kill this girl. This was immediately lost as Rona's axe had finally managed to find purchase in the man, dropping him to the ground and finally killing him. At around this time, the fighter Layne was fighting seemed in a frenzy and was trying to bring the healer down, only for the healer to, unexpectedly, fight back and strike him down with a white and blue pulse of energy. While the pulses were not all that strong, the man's body was barely holding on to begin with, and so Layne had managed to drop the fighter.

Raynor, meanwhile, was locked in a duel with a different enemy. Thrusting forward with his lance, the barbarian had managed to dodge, retaliating with a strike of his axe. The found purchase in Raynor's side, and as the man was starting to look ragged, the barbarian, with a gleeful smile on his face, struck at Raynor yet again with his axe. As the axe had managed to cleave yet another large wound into Raynor, it was clear that the man was barely hanging on. However, Raynor had managed to counter back against the axe bandit, spearing him through the chest, and causing the man to fall to the ground dead.

The bandits who were behind the group were starting to track down whoever else was in the forest. Seeing this, Yue had managed to move back a bit and try to keep herself hidden. This was quickly thwarted as the bandits had finally broken through the treeline, and seeing the frail looking girl, were only filled with more confidence to proceed. With nowhere to really run, that wouldn't abandon her friends, Yue had burst from the treeline and ended up meeting back up with Layne.

The group of skeletons had begun their move, walking towards the group of bandits, weapons at the ready. While the skeletons started to mindlessly move forward, they stopped as the one with the axe raised his hand. Making a few hand motions, the skeletons seemed to suddenly start moving in a more organized fashion, asynchronously and allowing others to move ahead of them. Not expecting this, the sword wielding bandit was not ready as a sword wielding skeleton rushed at him, slashing him across the side. Doubling over in pain, the apparent leader of the skeletons slowly walked up to the pained bandit, and with both hands around his axe made of bones and some kind of twisted metal. In what appeared to be an instant, the skeleton swiped its axe down, effortlessly cleaving the head of the bandit off his neck.

Though the other bandits were horrified by this display, they could not move as the other skeletons began to charge them. One with gnarled looking lance had struck forward at an axe wielding bandit, though he had managed to avoid the awkward stab. The other bandits were not so lucky, as the archer had a lance thrust into him, and the other axe bandit was struck by a sword. Readied now, the axe fighter had struck at the sword wielding skeleton, breaking an arm off of the monster. Bringing his axe back around, he struck the blade into the rib of the skeletons, causing it to explode into a pile bones. The other fighter struck back at the lancer that had attacked him, managing to cleave into its torso, as the archer had re-positioned himself and managed to shoot the head off the monster.

They weren't listening...in fact they did basically the opposite. Rona flinched as she realized that they had ignored her...and still came out on top. She glanced at Raynor. He was a real warrior...unlike her. She forced herself to look away, lest she continue to compare them and lose any nerve she may have left. With a deep breath, Rona turned Cormag around and flew over Layne.

"Ignore the monsters for now, keep safe, let me handle these fools!" Rona called out. She had a feeling that they wouldn't listen to her, but she had to do something. If she couldn't take care of a few bandits by herself...what good was she?

The Wyvern made sure to fly a bit close to the healer, just to show off that he was superior, and better at keeping Rona alive, and they stopped flying only when they reached the Mercenary who was coming up behind the group.

Rona let out a battle cry as she swung the axe at the man. She aimed for the shoulder, knowing that a body blow would be more easy to hit.

[spoiler=OOC]the "aiming" is just for flavor. Anyway, Rona moves 3 down and attacks Mercenary B. He's also the counter target.

Ada managed to counter and slay the axeman before the pain overtook her, falling to her knees as she clutched her stomach. She breathed heavily as blood poured out of her, her ears ringing with what she could only assume was her own heartbeat. Her vision began to go blurry as she knelt there, crumpled on the floor. As another of the bandits made an advance toward Cassia, Ada weakly tried to raise her hand to attack him, only for Leon to cut by and slice at the swordsman, telling her and Cassia to fall back.

"I... can't..." She barely gasped out, "I don't... care who's listening...  Roak'Rohir... Aeon... Roa... Spirits... anyone... Help me... Protect them!"

Shakily rising to her feet, her prized robes torn and bloodied, Ada opened her tome once more. Taking aim at the man Leon was holding at bay, she shot a blast of dark smoke, the small kickback actually forcing her against the pillar at her back, barely standing as she leaned against it. Her vision began to blur as she stared at Cassia's back, slowly slumping down the column.

"We all have... to make it out..."

[spoiler=OOC]Ada stays in place. She attacks Mercenary F with Shade.

He gives a confused look at Yue ran over to him, his eyes glancing back as he saw the movements coming from behind them. He winces for a moment, giving Yue a small smile as he nodded to her. His attention quickly turned though, going over... Layne flinched as he heard the sounds coming from Raynor and his fight, his face going pale for a moment as he turned, seeing the amount of damage that had been done to the man. He winced as he gripped his staff, "Alright, we've got a moment to catch our breath! There's still a few guys running below us, so they might come back, be on your guard for that!"

Layne quickly picked himself up, going running towards Raynor as the staff began to glow once more. The bright light was a lot more noticeable than it had been with Rona, a bright flash surrounding Raynor briefly as the energy from the staff began to patch up the major wounds, a little sigh escaping him as he rubbed at his neck. "...I'm really glad you survived there, that was almost really bad. You can blame me, I should've thought about that a bit more."

He glanced towards the Skeletons that had appeared off to the side, a little grin appearing on his face as he saw them beginning to fight with the remaining bandits. He didn't remain focused long though, instead choosing to turn back to his own group, preparing himself for the next rush, most likely from the bandits that had moved behind them now.

[spoiler=OoC]

Layne moves up 3 and to the right 1, the square above Raynor, and heals Raynor for 20 HP. Should bring him up to 22/26 HP.

Heal Staff 1 is now at 26 uses remaining.

So far, the rest of the three managed to protect the injured Ada. Her condition seemed to worsen as she launched an attack to the fighter that Leon held at bay, and Aleithe really wanted to reach out to her at least to give her one of his vulneraries, yet he was also holding a barbarian from advancing to the dark mage.

"We of the Iron Falcon order you to stand down!"

Of course, such an order was pointless in this sort of situation. It helped bolster Aleithe's confidence however, enough for him to launch a strike at the barbarian. A powerful swing [blade Lock] that would help to stagger the bandit to put Aleithe into an advantageous situation in combat against him. It probably wouldn't be enough to finish the bandit, so Aleithe hoped Cassia would be able to finish him off in his stead.

[spoiler=OOC]Aleithe used Blade Lock on the barbarian right underneath Cassia

The bandits seemed none too happy with the Falcons, their arrival, and how well they were pulling off this sneak attack. Sounded like they were intent on killing Ada and Cassia. One of them even sliced cleanly into Cassia's side with his sword, causing the thief to double over in pain, gripping her side and trying her best not to scream. She wouldn't give them the satisfaction.

"Ada, Cassia, get back."

"I... can't..."

"Sorry chief, but that's a no on my end too." Cassia had to force the words out through tightly-clenched teeth, but she wasn't falling back. Not yet anyway. "I'm supposed to be helping Ada out here, so running without her isn't an option." Getting up in the heat of battle probably wasn't going to do her any good. Her wound already hurt like a jabroni; if she was getting up, she'd have to do it slowly. Which wouldn't fly in a fight. She'd just have to do her best from down here on her hands and knees. With the hand that wasn't clutching her injury, Cassia grabbed a knife, then turned her attention forward. The bandit right in front of her, he'd have to go. Aleithe was keeping him busy too.

Perfect.

The thief took aim, then briefly swung her arm back, before suddenly sending it forward, releasing the knife, intending to throw it at the bandit's head. Or any part of him really. Bottom-line was, she wanted this guy dead. At the same time though, she kept her attention on the guy at her side as well. He was on her bad side, both physically and emotionally. If he tried anything, she'd have to be ready.

[spoiler=OOC]Attacked Barbarian D and designated Mercenary F for counter target

Raynor gritted his teeth as his attack missed his opponent, only to cry out in pain as an axe dug itself his body, splitting his skin open and causing blood to soak the iron. It was only by pure instinct was he able to launch a counterattack, stabbing his attacker through the chest, his lance skewering his opponent and causing him to fall over dead. Raynor too some ragged breaths as he grabbed the axe and pulled it out with another cry of pain. He hadn't expected such a fierce attack...

A warm feeling suddenly went through his body, his wounds sealing themselves closed, and the pain subsiding. "...I'm really glad you survived there, that was almost really bad. You can blame me, I should've thought about that a bit more." looking up, he could see Layne sighing.

"Don't worry about it. It's not my first brush with death, and it won't be my last. Don't blame yaself," he stated as he dusted himself off. "Thanks for the heal though,"

"Ignore the monsters for now, keep safe, let me handle these fools!" Rona called out as she flew off. Raynor shook his head.

"I'll provide her some backup," He said as he ran, ending next to the mercenary, stabbing at him. They would take this guy down! However, he knew there was a barbarian behind him. Seeing how his last encounter with one went so well, he kept a careful eye on him.

[spoiler=OOC]Raynor moved down five spaces and stopped to the right of mercenary B, attack him, and is making barbarian B his counter target.

As Leon was locking blades with the swordsman in front of him, Ada found it to be her ideal time to strike the man. However, due to the wounds that she had accumulated and the more physical force provided by the dark magic, her shots were skewed and the man had managed to avoid both of her shots of shade at him. Meanwhile, the axe wielding bandit was fuming at the fact that he had missed the thief, and was getting ready to attack at her once again. However, unbeknownst to him, Aleithe had charged at him from the side, stabbing his blade through the side of the bandit. The barbarian let out wail of pain, which soon fell silent as Cassia's dagger sunk into the man's throat, ending him.

The mercenary, now focused on the Iron Falcon's leader before him, stepped back, trying to free himself from the blade lock. Leon, sliding his blade off of his opponent's parried the mercenary's stab at him, retaliating with a stab of his own. Plunging his blade into the man's chest, the bandit fell limp, as Leon pulled the blade out of him. Turning to the side, a worried expression on his face, he was about to say something, only for it to be cut off as footsteps could be heard coming from the end of the hallway. "Well, well, well. Looks like we got a few heroes here. To think, my prize would come in here all by herself." The voice, belonging to the bandit leader, seemed to be directed at Ada. "Well, I didn't expect you to use dark magic, or kill most of my men for that matter, but that's neither here nor there. Normally I don't like to-" his voice cut off as he got a better look at Ada. "Wait a second. Well, I guess I don't have to worry about harming you after all. I guess the Jouran is still outside. So I'll just have to teach heretical scum like you, and your friends, what it means to go against me, Sand Shark the Chosen, and my band of Desert Riders."

The thief, meanwhile, not wanting to at all deal with this combat or theatrics continued to get while the getting was good.

Though the man in the treeline was not expecting Rona to come and attack him, he was still quick enough, and she unskilled enough, that he could react. As the axe came down towards him, the side stepped, parrying the blade away. With a swift swing of his sword, he managed to harm the girl, if only lightly, only for a lance to plunge into his side. Gasping in pain, the man was able to step to the side when Raynor's lance was pulled back, avoiding Rona's counter attack.

Meanwhile, the other two axe wielding bandits had started to run to either side of them, trying to take on both Jourans at the same time. The barbarian attacked Raynor, managing to strike him with his axe, causing a large cut to form across his chest. Raynor, in kind, responded with a lance into the man's gut, causing for more pain to the Barbarian than the barbarian had dealt to him. The fighter of the duo had decided to attack Rona, managing to also deal a decent blow against both the wyvern and its rider.

The skeletons were continuing to face down the bandits from the side. The one with the axe, the clear leader of the group, nonchalantly moved towards one of the fighters. The fighter, who was focused on the lance wielding skeleton in front of him, didn't seem to notice until it was too late. With a simple swing of its axe, the skeleton decapitated yet another bandit, motioning its hand forward, directing the others. The one with the sword struck the other fighter's side, dodging the countering axe strike. The fighter attempted this again, attacking at the skeleton, only for it to parry the axe away with its sword, and piercing one of his lungs with another sword strike. The other skeleton with the lance had then struck at the archer once more, piercing the man's chest and killing him.

Rona missed..yet again. Her axe soared over the man as he parried it to the side. She gasped out as she felt the sword and axe from the two bandits strike her. However that wasn't the worst part...Raynor, the other Jouran, had come to help her.

Was she so clearly helpless that he had already realized that she couldn't fight on her own? It was a distressing thought that this stranger had noticed her lack of worth so easily...though, given how he handled himself against these two foes she couldn't help but realize just how much more suited to this than she was. Perhaps...her purpose was not to fight for the group but instead to make way for this much more talented warrior to join it?

If that were the case...she had to deal with that Fighter first. If she could at least kill him Raynor would have no problem with the rest. So she turned her attention from the Mercenary to the Fighter, swinging her axe down in a Locking Strike.

[spoiler=OOC]Rona used Locking Strike on Fighter C and designated him for counterattack

Ada fell to the ground as the mercenary easily dodged both of her shots, coughing. She shakily looked up to see Leon finish him off, cursing her weakness.

"Guess no one... was listening..." She scowled, trying to pull herself up using the pillar. The coast seemed clear at last, so she decided to use the down time to take some of her medicine... Choking as the leader arrived. She sputtered as she shakily got to her feet, able to move, but in no condition to be fighting. However...

"Cassia, go!" She grunted, pushing the injured thief before her towards the hallway. "You too, Leon, Aleithe! We can use the hallway to our advantage now...!"

She stopped at the entrance to the hallway, opening her tome and beginning to chant, eyes locked on the boss. She wasn't out yet... And she would save them.

[spoiler=OOC]Ada moves down 3, using her Vulnerary.

Raynor really was beginning to get sick of axes. They didn't nearly take as much skill as a sword, or a lance. They just had to swing like madmen, and look, there's damage that can break a lance in two. No wonder why bandits used them, too busy being pathetic to learn a real weapon. He had to finish this one quick, so they could heal up and help the indoor team.

Looking at Rona, she went to attack the Fighter. While he would rather have had her attack the axe using jabroni, that was fine to. He spun his lance, turning his back to the Barbarian and striking the Mercenary. Still, he knew he was in a bad position, even with Rona here, so he kept his eye on the Barbarian. There was no way he was going to let himself get so injured twice in the same fight.

[spoiler=OOC]Raynor attacked the Merc and has the Barbarian as his counter target

Layne winced as he watched the others begin the charge down into the group below them, a little mumble escaping him as he scratched at his cheek.

I think we're going to be alright up here... I think...

He grabbed his staff and began to move towards the rest of his group, his mind starting to wander a little bit once again as he stopped above the fighter next to Rona, his staff raising up into the air. The light from it began to shine once more as he pointed it towards the fighter.

Please let this work. Things can't go wrong now. I still have to get back to the others.

Light flashed from the staff as Layne closed his eyes, attempting to cut off another source of danger before it could cause anymore harm. His attention flashed towards Raynor and Rona, both hurt, but... They should be fine for one more minute. Just one more minute, and then he can focus on getting them patched up. As long as Rona doesn't do something dangerous. Or Raynor doesn't choose to up and run into combat. It was about this moment that Layne had realized that he might have made a mistake going for the preventative method instead of the reactive one, no matter what happened with this attack.

Oh no.

So far, so good. The enemies around the Falcons had been dealt with. Now was a goood chance to take a quick breather and--

"Well, well, well. Looks like we got a few heroes here. To think, my prize would come in here all by herself. Well, I didn't expect you to use dark magic, or kill most of my men for that matter, but that's neither here nor there. Normally I don't like to-"

So much for that breather. Cassia turned her attention to the man that had arrived. Seemed he brought a couple buddies with him. If she were in better shape, Cassia would absolutely call herself ready to fight them. However, she wasn't in better shape. She still had a pretty bad injury on her side. She'd have to deal with that, and before these bandits got to her.

"Wait a second. Well, I guess I don't have to worry about harming you after all. I guess the Jouran is still outside. So I'll just have to teach heretical scum like you, and your friends, what it means to go against me, Sand Shark the Chosen, and my band of Desert Riders."

Cassia did her best to stifle a giggle at that name. She failed. "Pfffft. Who calls themselves Sand Shark? There's not even any sand near here. And the Chosen? A-ha-ha-ha-h-ow, my injury." First Grass the Pain, now Sand Shark the Chosen. Were bandit leaders just obliged to give themselves stupid names? In that case, it was now Cassia's duty to deal with people that gave themselves stupid names like that. Not that she could think of any better names if she were suddenly a bandit leader.

"Cassia, go!" Suddenly, the thief was pushed toward the hallway, soundly directing her attention away from Sand Shark's questionable naming sense. "You too, Leon, Aleithe! We can use the hallway to our advantage now...!"

"Got it!" Cassia started down the hallway, crossing through it and continuing onward until she got to a pillar she could rest against while she did some on-the-spot treatment for her wounds. She took a vulenary from her bag, and applied it to her side. That would have to do for now. Glancing around to get a feel for the new room, she couldn't help but notice a chest off in one direction. Something valuable in there, no doubt. People don't just leave random chests lying around.

It was awfully tempting to just run for the chest right away, but Cassia had to stick around. There was still an Ada to watch over, as well as a Sand Shark the Chosen to deal with. The chest would have to wait a bit, as much as she wanted to go check it out.

[spoiler=OOC]Cassia moves five spaces down and uses a vulenary.

The axe wielding bandit, feeling some success surge through him as he had managed to land a solid hit against the wyvern rider, was then met with a sudden surprise. As the girl turned to face him, he braced himself for a hit, but unable to do so well as he was surprised by the sheer force behind the girl's axe as she had managed to land a decisive hit into his gut. Staggering backward, the man managed to lash out and strike back at her, and though he seemed ready to continue fighting, this was not to be. A pulse of raw magical energy struck into him, and though it was weak, he was barely holding on already. His axe dropping to the ground, the man slumped over, dead.

Though he was making very little in way of progress and in a very sorry state, the sword wielding bandit was not deterred from fighting all the same. He was unsure who to actually attack, between the two Jourans, and in his indecision  the choice was made for him. Neither. The lance from Raynor pierced into the man's chest, and with the last of his vitality drained away, the man dropped to the ground. The barbarian to the side of Raynor had then seen his chance, bringing up his axe, and hefting it with great strength at the man, managing to strike him in the back. Though the blow was damaging, it was not enough to stop the Jouran, as he had responded in kind with a thrust from his lance. The lance striking true, the barbarian let out one final gasp before he and his axe dropped to the ground.

Meanwhile, the skeleton leader had merely circled around the fighter, the man being harried by three of the skeletons. As the skeleton made its way past the fighter, the fighter was unable to protect himself from what came next. In a single swing, the axe struck the bandit's neck, severing it clean off, and causing the man's headless body to fall to the ground. Unflinching in its movement, it then directed the other skeletons to begin moving alongside it.

Sand Shark had continued to walk forward alongside the rest of his entourage towards the scrambling falcons, a smirk on his face as he did so. As the red haired girl mocked his name, the man's gaze trailed over to her, a look of realization crossing his face. "Oh, would you look at that? There isn't. But I'm sure there is where you're from, so how about I take you back?" As the group began to scramble back, getting into the corridor as Ada had told them to, Leon saw that the girl was still barely holding herself up. In addition, the bandits that were with their leader seemed to be fast approaching and would probably be able to get yet another clean hit off on her. Standing in front of her, Leon stood ready to shield the rest of the falcons from the bandits that were coming towards them with a look of determination on his face.

The first of the bandits, the fighter, charged at Leon, bringing his axe up and swinging it at him. Trying to use his newfound shield to guard against the attack, Leon's parry was a bit botched as the attack had managed to go past it still, landing a clean hit off on it. Grimacing from the pain of the attack, Leon grit his teeth as he responded with a quick slash at the fighter, leaving a large gash across his torso. As he looked to his side, he then saw the barbarian of the duo charging at him. Using his sword to intercept the attack, Leon then side stepped, causing the attack to swing against air.

Meanwhile, the thief was definitely thinking that leaving was a good idea. Though, with the rest of the bandits converging on them, and them being far more the threat then he was, he figured he could stick around a bit longer. After all, if he was leaving, he decided getting out with a little prize wouldn't hurt.

Again. It happened again. She was too weak, so weak that Layne had to pick up her slack. She let out a frustrated sigh as she watched the healer fell another bandit. The very bandit she had failed to kill...

At the same time Raynor was finishing off not one but two foes. She had come down here intending to fend them off all on her own and yet...she hardly did anything.

But she could change that. Yes, there were still those skeletons. They would be advancing upon them soon. She may be weaker than the others but she did have one advantage.

She ran her hand across Cormag's neck. "Let's go my friend, and prove our worth." She softly spoke to him.

Taking into the sky Cormag flew towards the three enemies, passing over Yue on the way. Cormag hadn't quite reached them but Rona settled her eyes on the most dangerous looking of the group. She would destroy it and give the others time to rest. "You face Rona of the Iron Falcons, your end is near, foul creature!" She pointed at the skeleton with her axe. Her grip on the handle tightened as she could feel her arm trembling.

[spoiler=OOC]Rona moved two spots below Skeleton A and has the boss set as her counter target.

Ada felt a little more confident as Aleithe and Cassia took their places behind her, a relieved sigh escaping her lips. Even if she wasn't in the best shape, she was still able to protect them. That is, until Leon stayed in front of her, receiving attacks from two of the approaching enemies. He seemed to get through it without much trouble, holding them off, silent as ever... But Ada still snapped.

"What are you doing!? You're the leader, don't be reckless!"

She started to move forward until she remembered what weapon Land Shark wielded. If she were to break past Leon to attack, the boss would have access to her... Or worse, Aleithe or Leon would use their swords to protect her at a disadvantage. Cursing under her breath, she threw her hand over Leon's shoulder, dark magic swirling about the barbarian directly in front of her leader, obscuring the bandit from their vision as it consumed him.

"Fall back, Leon! It's better if we use this as a choke! point"

[spoiler=OOC]Ada attacks Barbarian E with shade. Designating Fighter H for counterattack.

Layne winced as Rona began to charge forward, exhaling quickly as he turned towards her, "Do not run out of my range, Rona! I can't keep up with Cormag on foot! I have to be able to get to you!" He cursed under his breath as she flew off towards the skeletons, a little mumble escaping him. As much as he wanted to go running off towards her, to make sure she didn't get overwhelmed...

"Raynor! Let me make sure your injuries aren't too bad before we keep going..."

He rose his staff up into the air, letting out a quick, mumble whisper as his eyes closed. The light began to build up on the end of the staff once again as he pointed it towards Raynor, the light surrounding him as the wounds began to patch up once again. He gave a quick sigh as he looked towards Raynor, the renewed sense of vigor running through him as Layne mumbled, pointing over towards Rona, taking a deep breath as he wiped some sweat off his forehead, "We've gotta catch up. She's already run off towards the monsters. She'll get herself killed."

Layne moved down two squares to heal Raynor for 20 HP. Should bring him up to full.

Cassia took a moment to catch her breath and gather her thoughts. The enemy bandits were closing in, and Leon seemed to be acting a bit too reckless in defending his fellow Falcons. It wasn't looking good. What the hell were the Falcons outside doing? At the same time, it looked like they could hold the corridor for a bit, even without Cassia. At least they had that going for them. It meant she had time to go get that treasure over yonder. She cast another glance in its direction, only to find...

Somebody else was creeping up toward it! No way! That's my loot! "Keep them occupied," Cassia said, getting up to her feet and getting her knives ready. "We're not the only ones sneaking around in here." With that, Cassia took off in the direction the other thief was clearly headed. Toward the treasure chest. She hurried along, and stopped once she was near the other thief.

She didn't want to fight this guy for very long. She was still injured. Just throwing one knife wouldn't be good enough. Three should do it, right? Cassia threw three knives at the other thief. If anyone was opening that chest to get the valuables inside, it was going to be Cassia!

[spoiler=OOC]Cassia moved three spaces to the left and attacked the Thief with Triple Toss. Designating the Thief for a counter target.

Raynor sighed to himself as he managed to fell two of their opponents. So far, so good. He was taking more hits than he would have liked, but better him than say, the squishy healer or Snow Fairy. Now they could catch their breath and...

"You face Rona of the Iron Falcons, your end is near, foul creature!"

Or not. He shook his head, rolling his shoulders. They were almost done, and that was all that mattered. He would be reunited soon with his friend.

"Do not run out of my range, Rona! I can't keep up with Cormag on foot! I have to be able to get to you!" The Mage cursed as he ran over to the one eyed warrior. "Raynor! Let me make sure your injuries aren't too bad before we keep going..." Raynor had to admit, he liked the way being healed from his injures felt. Perhaps he found a new way to train even harder than he already could? "We've gotta catch up. She's already run off towards the monsters. She'll get herself killed."

"Is she always like this?" He asked as he spun his lance. "It's like she doesn't have a survival instinct or something," He shook his head, but took off running. "I'll make sure she doesn't kill herself!" He called out as he rushed upwards. He'd make sure no one died, not while he was around!

[spoiler=OOC]Raynor ran up five spaces. Not really a land mark I can point out...

After having weathered both attacks, Leon heard the shouts of Ada behind him, accompanied with a blast of dark magic over his shoulder into one of the bandits before him. He knew that they could use the choke point to deal with them one at a time, but as things stood, Ada was still greatly injured, and he wasn't sure if she would be able to take another hit from one of these bandits. As such the mercenary leader stood his ground merely stating, "I'll be fine, just keep covering me." With that, he looked to the fighter at his side, and brought his blade down onto him. The Fighter seemed ready to counter against him, however, Leon's blade had struck true, causing the man to collapse to the ground.

Meanwhile, the thief had continued making his way towards the treasure chest. While he was certain the invaders were probably going to be busy with the others, his certainty was very swiftly revoked. As he felt three knives stab into his side, he let out a cry of pain, shouting, "funk! Ow!" He turned towards the perpetrator, a red haired girl with selection of knives in her hand, accompanied by a blonde haired woman with a sword. Not at all caring about who they were, though, the thief proceeded to say, "mother of magic, what is wrong with you? I wasn't even doing anything. You think I'm going to kill you or something? Oh look at me I'm the big scary thief with a puny little dagger, I'll take on the girl shooting darkness from her finger tips no problem. Oh, Shepherds this hurts." Clutching his wound he said, "listen, I just wanted the funking chest. I can like, get what's out of there for you if you just let me live and leave here."

On the other side of the interior, the barbarian had been recoiling from the burst of dark magic he had just taken. Though he had taken a heavy hit, the man was not ready to give up just yet, and bringing up his axe, he struck at the Iron Falcons leader once again. Stepping to the side, shoving his shield against the axe blade, Leon had managed to avoid the attack altogether before delivering a counter of his own. Felling the bandit with his attack, the voice of the bandit leader sounded out to him.

BGM

"So you're the leader of this little troupe are you? You don't look Jouran yourself - well, you don't look like much, to be honest. But what's a man like you doing with someone like them?"

"That's none of your business."

"Oh, I think we're about to come to a very brutal disagreement on that matter." Leon merely grunted, keeping his stance ready for the oncoming attack. "You're not worth anything so, don't say I didn't warn you." Taking in a deep breath, the bandit leader seemed to gather his focus, as with a swift lunge he pierced through Leon's defense and stabbed through his gut. Coughing out a bit of blood, his legs buckling from the pain and grip momentarily loosening, Leon was barely able to keep his ground against the attack. The man pulled his lance out, and seemed ready for round two.

As Rona charged forth, goading the monsters to attack, they seemed more than willing to oblige. The first skeleton, wielding a sword, walked up to the girl, and without much effort needed, managed to leave a scratch across her with his blade. The second, the one with the lance, thrust at her with it, missing completely. The final, the armored skeleton with the axe slowly advanced towards her. Gripping its axe with two hands, it didn't seem able to go for the throat, due to the girl's height, and instead merely went for her hip instead. The bones that made it up creaked a bit as it swung its axe at her with great force, striking true in its target. Rona, in retaliation, lifted her axe up and brought it down on the creature. While the axe found its mark, seeming to do significant damage at that with how the bones were beginning to crack, the skeleton didn't seem at fazed. Instead, it merely held its posture, and kept its axe raised, ready to strike her again.

When the fighting started, Yue had been ready to shoot the enemy archer. She had her bow aimed and everything. However, the sound of clacking distracted her, and she froze. Those were...skeletons. Monsters. And...absolutely adorable.

Aww, just look at their cute little bones, she thought, before shaking her head. Bad Yue, bad. And then the battle started. And everything was super confusing and fighting everywhere and then her friends were hurt and the humans moved inside and she wanted to follow but--

But she couldn't. Because they needed her out here too. Rona, the girl she probably admired the most of the Iron Falcons, the bravest of them all, was surrounded and injured. And she, Yue, had done nothing. The skeletons were cute. She didn't want to fight them. But she had to protect her friends too.

Finally managing to steel her courage, she stepped forward. One step, two steps. There. Take her bow, nock an arrow, aim, and fire.

Ugh. She wanted to cry. Why did the skeletons have to be bad?

[spoiler=OOC]

Yue takes two steps to the left/west and shoots at Skeleton C.
