YCM's Seasonal Anime Character Tournaments*

Summer & Fall 2015

 
[spoiler=Rules]YCM rules apply

Nominating:
All nominations will participate in the tournaments*. No need to nominate a character that already was.
 
*That's right, I said tournaments. It will be 2 at once. There will be less matches from each at a time from usual and I'm kind of hoping there won't be that much more than 64 characters in each, but whatever happens shall happen.

You may choose up to 12 characters from anime that debuted in the Summer 2015 season, and 12 from anime that debuted in the Fall/Autumn 2015 season. No more than 2 from each anime. Transferring from one season to another will not be allowed this time, as they are actually separate tournaments.

Only characters from TV and net anime may be nominated. Short anime are allowed. OVAs, specials, moovies are not.

If there are less than 64 nominations in a week, more nominations per person will be given (the amount will be addressed then and will depend on how many people have nominated).
If there are 64 or more, that will be the end date for nominations for that tournament(s).

Voting:
Before each round begins, I will post a screenshot of the randomization of all characters taking part in that round (from random.org). That screenshot will show how the matches will be determined.

Matches may end by mercy ruling. This means that if I notice a match at a 5 or more vote difference, I'll close it even before the match would end otherwise. There will be one match per thread, to make it easier to use this rule (if the need ever arises).

I'll try to make the votes public. If I forget you can even kick my butt, but no making me ded.

Just wondering, why is Summer and Fall being put in one tournament?

Well, this time they actually aren't (I'm just using one thread because I don't think I need 2). However, there are times I put either 2 seasons together or all seasons of a year and if you want to know why that is, well, it is because I want to.

And I just noticed this, but two of the characters you nominated are not valid as what they're from did not debut in Summer (Shokugeki no Souma and Ore Monogatari!!). You can change them if you want to.

I forgot that the settings I have with the chart I chose has leftovers. It is now fixed.

I did get a second notification here, so I think what you said on that second line means that you already realized this, but just in case anyone was wondering what I thought about long running anime in any of these I will reply anyway.

 

Considering that Fairy Tail is nowhere near the length of One Piece or Naruto and how long running anime seasons are different from other anime seasons, I'd allow Natsu... but none of the seasons appear to have debuted in either season. For example, the first one debuted in Fall 2009, the second one in Fall 2010, and the (currently) last one debuted in Winter 2016. However, Natsu wasn't in the last one (as far as I know, as I haven't seen this far, but looking at a list of characters in the source for that, it doesn't list him), so the last one with him in it debuted in Spring 2014.

Around now is when I would have given out more nominations, but instead I'm do something I mentioned I might do in a status. Because there's definitely not enough nominations to warrant doing this with the Summer tourney, I'll actually be closing nominations for both. I'm kind of too lazy to think of how many I'd need to give everyone to get 64 put together with the likeliness of getting that much (this time) even if I tried, I think it would be best to close nominations for the Fall tourney as well.

 

And to those that may end up wondering, the two extra from Pokemon XY&Z were submitted through PM and I haven't even seen one episode of the original XY anime, so it wasn't by me.

I have come to the conclusion I made too big a missteak to just going without fixing it. The thing is, if I kept going the way I was, there would be 1 character remaining that hadn't had a match at the end of the round, so I have to do the last 2 matches of the Fall tournament again. Thank you for your understanding (or not understanding, thank you for that as well).

As you may or may not know, I was having no trouble closing the matches when the shop trouble started (I had 2 items and was able to continuously use more than that amount). However, that's no longer possible. For what reason, I don't know. I'm going to leave it up to the mods to decide if this should stay pinned or not until the problem is resolved. It's not cancelled, and I'm actually about to add the results for the first half of round 2, but I'm putting this on hold until then.

 

I can just ask Sakura or another mod and thankfully I'd only have to at the end of the rounds for the rest, but I don't think I want to bother a mod for this every time, when normally I wouldn't need to at all.
