[spoiler=Prologue: A Duel Between Legends]“Welcome to the duel of the century, folks! I’m Toki Hariko!” The announcer said excitedly into the mic, her voice echoing throughout the large indoor arena that was packed with people. Toki stood in the middle of the arena, a single spotlight illuminating her. She had long, light green hair that flowed down to her shoulder. “This is gonna be an epic duel! A battle between legends! Today the legendary duelist, Yuma Tsukimo, a master of Xyz summoning-” 6 huge screens around the arena which showed Toki suddenly changed, showing the determined face of Yuma Tsukimo. He looked different, which made sense since he was now a man in his late thirties. He still had his crazy hair style, but it was shorter and more toned down than when he was an energetic tween.

“-will go against Yuya Sakaki, a popular entertainment duelist and user of pendulum summoning: A method he discovered 4 years ago!” 3 of the screens changed to show the smiling face of Yuya Sakaki. He still had his green and red hair and had his goggles strapped around his forehead.“Are you ready for this duel?” Toki asked with excitement. A deafening cheer came from the crowd in response. “Alright then, let’s begin!” Toki said excitedly as she raised her right hand and snapped her fingers. In an instant the middle of the arena was flooded with bright lights, revealing Yuya and Yuma standing not that far away from Toki.

Yuma wore jeans and a red jacket with a white t-shirt underneath. Yuya stood at 5’ 11 and was an inch shorter than Yuma. Yuya wore his usual outfit: Green pants and a red t-shirt with a white jacket draped behind him. They both had their duel disks equipped, ready to duel. While Yuma looked around at the crowd, Yuya walked over to Toki and swiftly stole her mic.

“Ladies and Gentlemen!” Yuya said happily into the mic, gesturing to the crowd with his free hand. “What you are about to see is going to be an entertaining and fun duel! But the question that must be going through all your heads right now is, ‘Who will win this duel?’ Well, I don’t know the answer to that, but let’s find out together!” At this, a large cheer went through the crowd.

‘That kid is a bit weird,’ Yuma thought as a flustered Toki stole her mic back from the excited Yuya. “Um, yeah, like Yuya said, let’s find out! This duel begins now! Action Field, City of Color!” Toki backed away to the sidelines and snapped her fingers.

In an instant, the arena began to transform into a colorful city, filled with skyscrapers and flashy lights. Each sky scraper was a different color and looked cartoony. Yuma and Yuya currently stood in the middle of an intersection, their view of the audience blocked by the beautiful, simulated night sky. The audience could see them, however, as the simulated night sky was like a one-way mirror. In the middle of the city sky was a swirling ball of action cards, which quickly exploded, sending cards flying everywhere.

“I’ll let you go first,” Yuya said to Yuma with a smile.

“Alright then,” Yuma said, drawing the 5 cards of his opening hand and looking at them. ‘Not the best hand, but it’s decent enough,’ he thought before placing a card onto his duel disk. “I Summon Gagaga Magician in attack mode!” In a flash of light, Gagaga Magician appeared in front of Yuma. “When I normal summon a level 4 monster, I can special summon Kagetokage from my hand.” Gagaga Magician’s shadow came alive and turned into a black lizard with glowing red eyes. “And now, I’ll xyz summon!” Yuma declared, raising his hand in the air. Both of his monsters turned into yellow glowing balls of light, which fell down into a swirling black vortex that had opened up on the ground.

“Come on out Utopia!” The black vortex exploded in a spray of bright white light and out of it emerged the winged, sword-wielding warrior known as Utopia. Yuma’s ace monster. Two glowing balls of light circled around Utopia.

“And just like that, Yuma brings out his ace on the first turn!” Toki said excitedly into her mic, watching the duel from atop a nearby skyscraper.

“Since it’s the first turn, I can’t attack, so I’ll set one card face-down and end my turn.” Yuma said as he put a card face-down on his duel disk. “Now it’s your turn.”

“Alright then. Draw!” Yuya said as he drew a card, adding it to his hand. “First, I’ll bring out the supporting cast. I set the pendulum scale with scale 1 Stargazer Magician and scale 8 Timegazer Magician.” Two beams of light shone down from above with Stargazer and Timegazer inside. A large 1 floated underneath Stargazer and a large 8 floated underneath Timegazer.

“Now I am able to summon any monsters between Level 2 and 7.” Yuya declared with a smile as a hole opened up in the sky above him. “Sway, pendulum of the soul! Draw an arc of light across the ether! Pendulum summon! Come forth my monsters!”

2 flashes of light shot out of the hole in the sky, hitting the ground in an explosion of color. Now on Yuya’s field stood Performapal Drummerlia, a comical looking gorilla with two drums attached to its chest, and the majestic Odd-Eyes Dragon, its different colored eyes staring down Utopia.

“Now Yuya’s ace is on the field!” Toki said into her mic as excitement buzzed through the crowd, “Will we see both their aces duke it out?”

“I hope you’re prepared, Yuma. I attack Utopia with Odd-Eyes!” Yuya declared, his dragon charging a breath attack. “Spiral Strike Burst!” Releasing a powerful breath attack, Odd-Eyes sent a spiraling beam of red flames shooting towards Utopia. “Now I activate Drummerlia’s effect. If a monster I control is involved in a battle with an opponent’s monster, I can make the monster I control gain 600 ATK!” As Drummerlia beat on the two drums on its chest, Odd-Eyes ATK shot up to 3100, surpassing Utopia’s 2500.

“Pointless,” Yuma said suddenly, catching Yuya off guard. “I activate Utopia’s effect. By detaching 1 xyz material, I negate your Odd-Eyes’ attack.” One of the glowing orbs that was circling Utopia got sucked in, allowing Utopia to spread its wings. Bringing its wings around to form a shield, Utopia blocked Odd-Eyes attack. But Yuma wasn’t done as his face-down flipped up. “Next I activate my face-down. Light Wing Shield! This card can be activated when a monster’s attack is negated. And it allows me to choose between two effects. I’ll activate the first effect, which lets me make it the End Phase. So in other words, your turn is over.”

“What?!” Yuya and Toki said at the same time, surprise showing in their voice.

“What a shocker, folks!” Toki said in utter surprise, “With the effect of Yuma’s Light Wing Shield, Yuya’s turn is over, meaning he can’t set any spell or trap cards!”

Nervously, Yuya looked the two cards in his hand: Performapal Pinch Helper and Draining Shield. Two cards which would have been a major help. Would have. ‘Dang it. This is bad!’ he thought with dread, before shaking his head. ‘No! You’ve got to stay positive!’

Yuya slowly looked up at Yuma, a smile still on his face. “Good move.”

“Thanks,” Yuma said, simply shrugging off the compliment.

“I end my turn. Also Drummerlia’s effect ends and Odd-Eyes ATK returns to normal.” Yuya stated as Odd-Eye’s ATK dropped back to 2500.

“It’s my turn. Draw!” Yuma barely glanced at the card he drew. He was more focused on Utopia. “To start my turn off, I’ll use Utopia to xyz summon Utopia the Lightning! I can do this because Utopia the Lightning can be xyz summoned by using Utopia as xyz material.”

In an instant, Utopia turned into a ball of light and fell into the black vortex that had suddenly opened below it. “Utopia, it’s time to take a new form. With the power of thunder and the speed of lightning, be reborn! Come on out, Utopia the Lightning!”

Like before, the vortex exploded in a spray of blinding light and Utopia the Lightning appeared. Utopia looked different, with two swords instead of wings and his white armor now having a bluish tinge to it. Two glowing orbs circled around Utopia the Lighting. A holographic screen appeared nearby, showing Utopia the Lightning’s 2500 ATK. Without hesitation, Yuma pointed at Drummerlia. “Utopia the Lightning, attack Drummerlia!” Following Yuma’s command, Utopia charged at Drummerlia.

In a hurry, Yuya jumped on Odd-Eyes and rushed off in search for action cards. Drummerlia followed closely behind as it tried to stay out of the reach of the pursing Utopia. Going down street after street, Yuya couldn’t find an action card.

“I activate Utopia the Lightning’s effect,” Yuya heard Yuma say from behind, “By using two xyz materials, Utopia’s ATK becomes 5000 until the end of the damage step!”

‘Ah crap!’ Yuya thought in panic. Glancing over his shoulder, he saw Yuma running behind Utopia the Lightning, who was quickly catching up to Drummerlia. One thought went through Yuya’s mind at this moment. He needed an action card, NOW. His prayers were answered when he glanced down an alleyway and spotted an action card, laying on the ground by a dumpster. Jumping off of Odd-Eyes, Yuya made a mad dash for the action card. Yuma didn’t even attempt to stop Yuya as he grabbed the action card. “I activate-“ Yuya started to say.

“It’s useless,” Yuma interrupted as he stood in front of the alleyway. Utopia the Lightning floated behind him, holding two large swords that were arcing with electricity. “When Utopia the Lightning battles an opponent’s monster, you can’t activate cards or effects until the battle is over.”

Yuya was speechless. After all his effort to get an action card, it was all for nothing. While Yuya stood there, a look of utter shock on his face, Drummerlia stood in front of him like a shield. With one swift swipe of his swords, Utopia sent two slices of electricity shooting towards Drummerlia.

“Yuya!” Yuzu shouted as Utopia’s attack hit, causing a massive explosion. On the 6 massive TV’s across the arena it showed Yuya’s life points as they quickly dropped from 4000 to 600. In the Box, a private enclosed room high up in the arena, Yuzu stared through the windows, looking at the massive smoke cloud that surrounded where Yuya was. Several HD TV’s around the Box showed the same scene.

“Unbelievable folks,” Toki said in shock, her voice barely heard over the roars of the crowd. “Yuma Tsukimo has just inflicted 3400 damage to Yuya, in a single hit.”

Yuzu wasn’t alone in the Box. A black-haired girl around her age sat in a comfy-looking chair, watching the HD TV’s with a smug smile. “That’s my dad for ya: Causing massive damage in a single strike.” The girl said cockily, “That Yuya kid doesn’t even stand a chance.”

Yuzu looked over at the girl, her worried expression quickly changing to an agitated one. “What’s your problem?” she asked the girl angrily.

“Oh I’m sorry,” The girl said in a sarcastic tone, “I didn’t mean to offend a friend of the weakling that my dad’s dueling.”

Yuzu took an intimidating step towards the girl. “Yuya is not a weakling!”

“Then why is his life points so close to zero while my father’s life points are untouched?”

“Just because your father got a lucky shot-“

“Stop right there,” The girl interrupted, her smug attitude still showing. “My father has way more experience in dueling than your twerp friend, so luck has nothing to do with it. Just admit it. Your friend’s way out of his league.”

Yuzu’s hand formed into a fist as she clenched her teeth. This girl was getting on her last nerve. She swore, if that girl said one more negative thing about her friend, she was gonna let her have it.

“By the way,” The girl said suddenly, “What’s with your friend’s hair? It looks so stupid!”

Okay. That. Was. IT! “I’ve had enough of you and your insults!” Yuzu shouted as she quickly advanced towards the girl.

Cockily, the girl stood up and cracked her knuckles. “You want to fight? Alright then, but don’t be crying when I quick you’re a**!”

But before things could get out of hand, Nico Smiley, who had been sitting nearby, swiftly ran in-between the two teenage girls and blocked their path. Smiley wore his usual yellow and black striped-suit. “Now, now. There’s no reason to fight,” Smiley said with a nervous smile, “After all, we’re here to enjoy Yuya’s duel, not fight.”

“Yeah, the man with the creepy smile is right, we are here to enjoy a duel.” The girl admitted, before a mischievous smile popped onto her face. “And I really enjoy watching Yuya getting stomped by my father!”

“Shut your filthy mouth, you witch!” Yuzu yelled as she sprinted around Smiley in an attempt to tackle the girl. However, Smiley quickly grabbed her before she could lay a finger on the girl. As Smiley tried to slowly back away from the girl, Yuzu struggled violently in his grip. “Let go of me! I need to teach that girl to keep her stupid mouth shut!”

“Please excuse her,” Smiley said nervously to the black-haired girl, “She’s sometimes…..quick-tempered.”

At this, Yuzu’s rage shifted over to Smiley. “Quick-tempered?! I am not!”

The girl just watched with a smile until something on the TVs distracted her. The smoke cloud in the arena had most dissipated, revealing Yuya laying on the ground, still. Yuzu’s rage instantly vanished as she caught a glimpse of the scene on the TV. Smiley saw it too and let go of Yuzu, allowing her to walk closer to the TV. The entire audience, which had been roaring loudly seconds ago, were now silent. Seconds seemed to pass like minutes for Yuzu as she watched Yuya, not moving.

“Yuya isn’t moving,” Toki said worriedly into her mic, “Is Yuya alright?”

]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[]=[

Yuya wasn’t injured. Besides the usual slight pain you felt when taking damage from a duel, he actual was perfectly alright. But his reason for not moving was simple. He was scared out of his mind. Seeing a pro duelist like Yuma Tsukimo outsmart him, not only by preventing him from setting his trap cards but also stopping him from playing action cards, it had been too much for him. However, Yuya’s fear hadn’t started during the duel. It had started way before it had even started…

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Nico Smiley burst into the room, breathless. “Yuya! I got a one-in-a-lifetime gig for you!” He said as soon as he spotted Yuya sitting on the couch.

“What is it?” Yuya said as he stood up, sensing Smiley’s excitement.

“I have miraculously got you a duel with the legendary Yuma Tsukimo!”

Yuya didn’t know how to react. Several emotions went through him all at once. Excitement, nervousness, shock, confusion, and even fear. They were all there. All Yuya could do as stand still and do nothing as a million thoughts raced through his mind.

As Yuya stood there with a weird expression on his face, Smiley became worried. “Uh, Yuya? Are you alright?” When he got no response, he walked up to Yuya and waved his hand into front of his face. “Hello? Earth to Yuya? Is something wrong?”

This broke Yuya out of his trance as he shook his head vigorously. “No, I’m fine. Just a bit shocked.”

Smiley nodded his head. “I understand completely. I, myself, was shocked when Yuma accepted the offer. But since he did, this duel will be the most popular duel of the century!” Smiley’s smile dropped as he looked at Yuya, his face unreadable. “That is, if you want to go through with this duel.”

Yuya looked shocked. “But of course I’ll go through with this duel! You said it would be the most popular duel after all, so just imagine all the people that will be watching it! They’ll all get to see my entertainment dueling!”

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

‘That’s right,’ Yuya thought, ‘I’m here to entertain, not to lay on the ground in fear. I had been so nervous, I forgot that I was supposed to be dueling for fun.’ Slowly, Yuya picked himself off the ground. A roar went through the crowd as Yuya stood straight up, a smile on his face.

“Yuya’s alright!” Toki shouted excitedly.

Up in the Box, Yuzu breathed a sigh of relief, while Smiley jumped up with excitement.

Yuma looked at Yuya warily. “You good, kid?”

“Yeah. In fact, I’ve never felt better!” Yuya said before laughed happily.

“Okay then, I set one cards face-down and end my turn.” Yuma declared as two large rectangles appeared in front of him before disappearing.

Instead of drawing a card to start his turn, Yuya back-flipped several times before leaping high in the air. Gasps of surprise came from the audience as Yuya landed gracefully on Odd-Eyes back. “Ladies and gentlemen!” Yuya shouted out with excitement, his hands held high. “I seem to be in quite pinch, but don’t worry, I’ll be just fine. However, you, the audience, can help me greatly. Let me show you how.” Placing his hand on his deck, he prepared to draw a card. “I want all of you to cheer my name, and if you do, I’ll draw the card I need to turn this duel around, all right?”

A loud responding “Yeah!” came from the audience.

“Then let’s begin!” Closing his eyes, Yuya heard the crowd begin to cheer his name. He could fell their excitement. Now all he had to do was fulfill his promise. ‘Come to me. Please.’ Yuya thought, before suddenly opening his eyes. “Draw!” With one swift motion, he drew the card, and the crowd went silent. Slowly he looked at the card and stayed like that for a while, his face neutral. Then a smile grew onto his face. “It’s here!” Yuya exclaimed, and the audience went wild with excitement.

Yuma watched his opponent, a slight smile on his face. ‘He sure knows how to work the audience.’ He thought.

“I activate the card I just drew! Hand Destruction!” Yuya declared, slapping the card onto his duel disk. “Because of this card, we both have to discard two cards and then draw two cards.”

As Yuya and Yuma both sent the only two cards in their hand to the graveyard and drew two cards, Yuya smiled when he saw his cards. “The real comeback starts now!” he shouted excitedly. “I will now pendulum summon using the already set scale 8 Timegazer Magician and scale 1 Stargazer Magician.” Like before, a hole appeared in the sky above Yuya. “Again, sway pendulum of the soul! Draw an arc of light across the ether! Pendulum summon! Come forth my monsters!” 3 flashes of light burst out of the hole in the sky and hit the ground, revealing Yuya’s monsters. “Returning to the stage is Drummerlia, along with two new performers! Performapal Skeeter Skimmer and Performapal Silver Claw!” Close to the drum-chest gorilla stood a rather large insect with a top hat and a wolf with silver claws.

“Now the stage is set for my two main performers! I’ll use my level 4 Silver Claw and Skeeter Skimmer to xyz summon Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!” Yuya declared, his two monsters turning into purple balls of light and fell in a swirling black vortex. “At the same time, I’ll tribute my Odd-Eyes and Drummerlia to special summon a monster from my extra deck know as Beast-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!” A second vortex had appeared, sucking in Odd-Eyes and Drummerlia quickly. It was only a matter of seconds before the two intimidating dragons emerged from the portals, taking their place in front of Yuya. Two floating screens showed Dark Rebellion’s 2500 ATK and Beast-Eyes 3000 ATK. Two purple orbs circled Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon.

Toki looked as if somebody slapped her. “Wh-wh-what?!?!” She shuttered in shock, “Yuya just summoned a fusion and xyz monster! At the same time!” The roar of the crowd had gone to a deafening volume.

Yuma looked at his opponent’s dragons causally as if they were nothing. ‘Whoa,’ Yuma thought in surprise, ‘This kid has more skill than I thought. However, some of his moves have been just relying on luck.’ A smile slipped onto his lips at the thought. ‘But I’m the same way. I also rely on luck every now and then.’ His thoughts were quickly interrupted when Yuya spoke.

“I activate Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon’s effect. By detaching 2 xyz material, I can halve the ATK of a monster you control, then Dark Rebellion gains ATK equal to the ATK lost. Treason Discharge!”

Spreading its wings wide, Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon roared ferociously and absorbed the two purple orbs circling it. In response, purple lightning shot out of Dark Rebellion’s wings and hit Utopia the Lightning, stealing half of its ATK. With Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon’s ATK now at 4000, Yuya lifted the last card in his hand up high. It was the action card he had picked up earlier.

“Finally, I activate the Action Spell – Red Fury. This card increases the ATK of a monster I control by 1000 until the end of the turn! So I’ll use it on Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!”

Dark Rebellion glowed red as its ATK shot up to a threatening 5000. “Now the path to victory is open! I attack Utopia the Lightning with Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!” With great speed, Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon flew straight for Utopia the Lightning. Yuma didn’t even make an attempt to go for an action card. Instead, he just watched as Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon plowed through his monster, destroying it instantly. The shockwave that followed almost knocked Yuma off his feet, but he managed to stay standing.

With Yuma’s life points now at a low 500, excitement raced throughout the arena. Up in the Box, Yuzu looked over at the black-haired girl, a cocky smile on her face. “See that. My ‘weakling’ friend, as you say, just dropped your father’s life points to 500.”

The girl simply smiled a smile of her own. “So what? My father’s still gonna win. Don’t forget his face-down.”

Face-down? Alert, Yuzu looked back down at the duel. The girl was right. Yuma hadn’t used his face-down yet. But maybe that was because it was useless? Before Yuzu could wonder more about it, Yuya pointed directly at Yuma. “Beast-Eyes, Attack him directly and finish this!” Obediently, Beast-Eyes charged at Yuma. But its attack would never hit.

“I activate my trap! Xyz Reborn!” Yuma declared as his face-down flipped up. “Its effect allows me to special summon an xyz monster from my graveyard, then it attaches itself to that xyz monster as xyz material. I choose Utopia!” A large black hole opened up in front of Yuma and out of it emerged Utopia, looking ready for battle. At the same time, the Xyz Reborn trap turned into am orb of light and floated around Utopia. “Now I’ll use Utopia’s effect and detach one xyz material to negate your monster’s attack!” Like before, Utopia absorbed the orb of light and its wings wrapped around itself to form a shield. Seeing this, Beast-Eyes slowed its charge to a stop barely a foot away from Utopia.

“Unbelievable!” Toki said loudly, stretching out the word. “Yuma was able to save himself from the attack that would have dropped his life points to zero!”

Yuma looked at Yuya with a slight smile. “I’m a bit of an entertainer myself.” He said while the crowd buzzed with shock and excitement.

“Well then, since there’s nothing I can really do, I guess it’s your turn,” Yuya said with a smile.

“I guess it is,” Yuma replied as he drew a card. But he didn’t look at it, nor did he look at the other cards in his hand. He was looking at Utopia, thinking. After a few seconds, he looked at Yuya. “Since you don’t have any cards in your hand, I think it’s only fair that I don’t use any of the cards in my hand. After all, the only cards that matter are the ones currently on the field.” Gasps echoed throughout the crowd as Yuma dropped his cards on the ground. “Because this awesome duel is going to end one way and one way only. With my Utopia dropping your life points to zero.”

“Let’s see if you’re right then,” Yuya said, doing a ‘come on’ gesture with his hand.

“Alright, let’s,” Suddenly, the extra deck slot on Yuma’s duel disk opened up and he swiftly pulled a card out. “Utopia! It’s time for a new form!” Utopia simply nodded its head as it turned into am orb of light. “By using Utopia as xyz material, I can bring out its more powerful form. Utopia Ray!” In a flash of light, Utopia Ray appeared in front of Yuma, while the orb of light circled it. “Now to finish this. Utopia Ray activates its effect. By using an xyz material, I can increase its ATK by 500 and decrease the ATK of a monster you control by 1000. I choose your Beast-Eyes!” As Utopia Ray glowed brightly, its ATK went up to 3000 while Beast-Eyes dropped to 2000.

Sensing what was coming next, Yuya made a run for a nearby action card that laid on the ground. “Utopia Ray attack Beast-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!” Yuma declared, also rushing for an action card that was on top of a street light.

“If Utopia Ray’s attack hits, this duel will be over!” Toki said in suspense.

“That’s not gonna happen,” Yuya said, picking up the action card. “I activate the action card, Yellow Shield! Not only does this card negate your monster’s attack, but it also inflicts 500 points of damage to you!”

“500 damage?!” Toki said, shocked. “That’s enough to take down Yuma!”

“Sorry kid,” Yuma said as he neared the action card, “But I’m not gonna lose, because I’m feeling the flow!” What Yuma did next was unexpected. He leaped, far higher than humanly possible, and snatched the action card from its spot on top of the street light. As he landed on the ground, he slapped the card on his duel disk. “I activate the action card, No Action! It negates Yellow Shield, meaning Utopia’s attack isn’t negated and I won’t take 500 points of damage.”

Yuya simply smiled while Utopia Ray pulled out its swords and slashed at Beast-Eyes, destroying the dragon in a great slash of light. The shockwave that followed knocked Yuya to the ground, and dropped his life points to zero.

“It’s over!” Toki declared before the arena was filled with the sound of cheering.

Yuya stared at the night sky above, which quickly faded away along with the action field. He was thinking so much about what happened throughout the duel, he almost didn’t realize that his opponent was now standing by him, holding out his hand. “You’re a great duelist, Yuya.”

Taking Yuma’s hand, Yuya stood up, a bright smile on his face. “Thanks, you too.”

A young teenage girl was seated in the dark room, watching the end of Yuma and Yuya’s duel on a laptop. On the table were the laptop sat, several blank white cards were scattered around. “And you saw it here folks! An amazing duel between Yuma Tsukimo and Yuya Sakaki!” Toki said, her voice coming through the laptop speakers. On the screen, it showed Yuma and Yuya shaking hands, each with a smile on their face. The teenage girl also smiled, but it was not a happy smile. It was a cruel smile. The girl had many features that could attract attention, like her pale white skin that was the same color as her hair, or her different-colored eyes; one red, one blue. Despite this, she was rather pretty.

“So, Yuma and Yuya. You are powerful duelists indeed,” The pale girl said as if they were in the room. “But too bad for you, because that’s a bad thing.”

Picking up two of the blank cards on the table, the pale girl held them out, holding them in one hand. As if by magic the blank cards slowly changed, becoming the cards Utopia and Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon. The girl had also changed, now looking like a twisted version of Yuya and Yuma combined.

“Because now, you’ve become targets for the 12.” The transformed girl said, her voice sounding as if both Yuya and Yuma were talking at the same time.

“That, was, awesome!” The teenage boy with long, rainbow-colored hair shouted, pumping a fist in the air. In his other hand was a smart phone, and on the screen it showed Yuma and Yuya shaking hands. The boy sat at his desk in his dimly lit bedroom, the only light coming from his phone. He had watched the entire duel and had been completely fascinated by it. In fact, he had been so fascinated that he wanted to draw an epic scene involving the two duelists. Reaching over to a lamp that sat on the desk, he turned it on. The lamp illuminated the room more, revealing its bizarre look. The walls and ceiling was just like his hair: Rainbow-colored. On the walls hung several picture frames with beautiful drawings in them. Each one of the drawings either had a duel monster or a famous duelist in them. All the drawings had been drawn by the same boy who sat at the desk. As the boy opened a drawer on his desk and pulled out several pieces of paper and a pencil, he went to work. An alarm clock on the desk showed 10: 06. The boy stayed up till he finished the drawing at 12:11.

Tired, the boy turned off the desk lamp and went to bed, not knowing that he forgot to set his alarm clock.
