Alright, good luck to everyone.

If this works out successfully, it will be permitted for Season 17 and beyond in Leaderboard.

I'll be blunt then.

Mecha Phantom Beast's problems are something that I beiieve no monster can properly solve, closest being Pilica. Destructibility protection reliant on the most fragile type of monsters to date-Tokens-only goes so far in a meta as two-turn quick as this, even without the setup issues MPB has-and that's not even taking in the fact that TributeOverAllTheThings.archetype's still breathing air. this is not to say they're trash though-I love the archetype, think it's one of the most ingenious piecies of card art of a TCG-exclusive Archetype yet, and am trying to make some support for it on the other side of the pond myself-even including some monsters. Le irony emerges

To your monsters then-of which ALL THREE ARE LINKS THIS IS AMAZING

Card A is the highest material-requirement of the Links, and thus the most versatile in terms of expanding your options (note: not exactly the same as expanding the plays/board, that'll be explained later.) Modes 2500 for a 2-3 mat Link, tho i wish the Cocytus protection also extended to it if you used a Link Monster as material as well as Tokens, since that could be a usable path to this as well. Dunno what Card A's doing giving your opponent an extra Extra (read all about it) Monster Zone tho, considering the work you'll need to do to bring it out.

Milling to Summon 2 Tokens is cool, especially if you're milling O-Lion, which has it's own special moments to possibly make you another LINK-4 monster and especially if you plan to go into another Synchro/Link - dunno which you'd be likely to go for in that instance tho, maybe the new Bladefly Link when they get it or something. Most of the Links-especially the Machine one's you'd need to trigger the last effect off the second-don't let you use Tokens. Regardless, Machine monsters Special Summoned from the Extra Deck working with Card A to bring back monsters from your GY is a nice caveat to extend plays. All in all, a good late-term card for if you don't have the material enough for Jaculusan/Vermillion/Mist Wurm.

Card B....is borderline Speedroid bait. At least on the first effect-with the Link Points, this'll be easy tech for the roids. Other effects however, point out the prominent protection that MPB are missing-Tokens for MOAR MECHA PHANTOM BEASTS is always welcome, and Tributing MPBs on field and hand to prevent attack/effect targeting closes the last loophole in the MPB protection clauses. The damage thing feels like a tack-on, tho-something to actually make all those token summons worthwhile.

And again, this helps little in solving the issue of MPB actually having some consitent summoning method or at the very least, having the Tokens necessary to ensure the work of their board. In all, this is actually better as a generic MPB/Speedroid card than a specifically supporting MPB card. You need establishment on the field to do this, and most of the options for MPB would go just towards summoning this, let alone achieving the archaic conditions for each different MPB to get their tokens out for the MPB Effect monsters to actually do something.

Would love one tho

Card C is getting there tho. Attack/effect targeting negation as a static effect, a generic tribute to summon 2 MPB Tokens-even itself if necessary AND ON A QUICK TRIGGER TOO SO IT CAN EVADE REMOVAL I'M NOT WORTHY

and a final effect that can work well on destruction negation (EAT IT MASTER PEACE) and does it for free if you've got another MPB and MPB token on the field. Did you think I would not see that synergy there? oh ho

Materials are specific as heck (necessary imo) and the 2200 ATK is decent, but it sill has this in the context of need resources on the Ground-Raiten can do it, O-Lion can do it, and this is amazing regardless, but the game for the MPBs trying to get solved through an Extra Deck monster-and this goes for all three cards-is handling it a step too late.

So yea-Card A's what could work as a boss, but they have one already with Jaculu, Card B's close to that, but reads more like generic WIND Machine Tech with the MPB support as an add on, and Card C, while a bit wobbly on the last effect and strictest on the requirements, gives MPBs what they need and at the speed the need it when it comes out.

Card C it is.

Well, I suppose that saves me having to tiebreak. No problems with any of the reasoning thus far.

So yeah, card C wins [and iirc, that one is Aez's].

I was working on a vote post, but I'll add it later for A and B. While I did say that 2nd place would get another match, I do have other things that require my attention; therefore, I'll just grade it like a normal contest or 1v1. I had a special theme in mind, but...I'll save it for Season 17's Postseason if there is one.

At this point, the silver battle will be determined by me (and will just be graded as a normal contest). I did start working on a vote post for all three of them, but got put on hold due to other things. Will be up later.

To be fair, I'll analyze all three of them (well, finish B/C since I got A done), but only consider A/B for placing.

(If you guys were wondering, runoff theme would've been to use a picture that I provide you for the card. Rest would've been up to their design; unless Dova and Belle want to do it.)

Alright, time for my runner-up deciding post.

For fairness, I will grade all three of them, but only A / B will be taken into consideration for deciding a winner.

(I am somewhat surprised all three of you decided to go the Link path, but...might as well make that Link thing on Raiten mean something, right?)

Card A

Raiten and Number 42 say hi for Token spamming; moreso the former nowadays. Second effect has some potential abuse with O-lion; mill that, summon 3 Tokens off this (though in their defense, MPB do need Tokens to really take care of business). The ED summoning thing is going to be slightly more painful to pull off, but least you can recover some of the dead ED bosses like Draco/Jac (idek about Concoruda) without relying on Hamstrat, so... Now if only they had MPBs with sideways markers.

Card B

Coltwing combo is obvious on this one, and relatively easy to get out in the early game [well, Tether can make this right away on NS; Raiten can discard for it if needed]. As already noted above, we do need to worry about this being somewhat splashed in Speedroids (as MPB did have a partial engine for them in ARC-V) and the repeating searcher effect. Don't get me wrong; Megaraptor isn't bad in light of the Token requirement, but this is somewhat outclassing it; even though I can admit as a MPB user that they really need GY recovery [which I don't think they have] and added speed to survive nowadays. Burn is somewhat iffy.

Card C

Again, another card that opens itself to MPBs/Speedroids [there are the Symphonics, but...they have better things to be doing with their stuff]. Added Token summoning is nice, since it does grant them protection effects and boosts their Levels. For a boss, the self-protection thing is fine; in a way, it technically generates its own fodder and Aerial can provide more every turn if you need it. Granted, the ATK is a bit over the accepted threshold for Link 2s at present, but I think that limit will go up as we advance later into VRAINS [and mats should be specific enough otherwise].

====

I would agree with C being the overall winner here, but because this is me deciding the runner-up, I'd have to pick A for design reasons. While B isn't bad and I'd use it if released, it is going a bit overboard with its capacities.

To be fair, either of these would be welcome in MPB.dek as it currently standards.

So...

1st - AEZ

2nd - Dova

3rd - Belle

I'll just award the prizes in the morning, as it is quarter to 1 am at the time I'm posting this (though I had it saved somewhere first), then officially declare the Postseason over. At that time, Season 17 will be opened up.

Details to be announced later.
