Shantae Half Genie Hero Risky Mode

For a while Shantae has been the star of her own franchise. But soon there will be a new rising star, the antagonist, Risky Boots.

 

Yes Shantae Fans of YCM, Shantae's nemesis is going to be the star of the brand new Risky Mode, known as Pirate Queen's Quest. This little mini adventure takes place after Risky steals the Dynamo built by Mimic but before the final battle where Half-Genie and Pirate goe toe-to-toe.

 

This is like Vile Mode from Mega Man Maverick Hunter X, or Raychel mode from Mighty Number 9. Players take control of the antagonist Risky Boots, and they're treated to some fanservice of her in her bathtub while we decide what to do next. We go through the stages in any order similar to Mega Man, and if anyone remembers Pirates Curse, the Pirate Gear returns along with some new tricks, like the Grappling Hook. As such, the stage's layouts look the same, but had to be restructured for the new mechanics.Footage from Polygon showcases the "rematches" with Tinkerslug and the Mermaid Queen:

Cristina Vee fills in the role of Risky, and does the role justice. Which makes me wonder, how would they handle things like the tower ascencion, the magic carpet race and the haunted mansion? Only time will tell.
