xlArisenRoselx
I would love to help you out, but there are way too many! From the ones I read tho, they were pretty good support cards. The last one I read was the Synchro monster Fuurai, which I have to say, his Gladiator counter effects don't follow the archetype at all, unless I missed some Gladiator beasts that konami made. That is possible since I haven't ever really seen many gladiator beasts. But overall(from what I've seen) pretty good and balanced.
Darj
I have not read all the cards yet, but there are 2 things that bug me about this set:First, the flavor: Gladiators Beast are, you know, monsters based on gladiators from the roman empire or whatever. But these guys instead, about 80% or more are ninjas, samurai and whatnot, so... I think I don't have to elaborate on how they don't really fit with the theme of Gladiator Beasts.Second, the number of cards: You have 24 maindeck monsters, plus 18 Extra Deck monsters, including a Level 4 Normal monster when Gladiator Beasts already have 1. That's way too many monsters; to put things in perspective, Gladiator Beasts currently have 19 maindeck members, 26 counting the Fusions, so this "support" you got here more than doubles the amount of Gladiator Beasts. To where I'm going is that, with such high card number plus their oriental ninja/samurai theme and the introduced Synchro and Xyz plays, they may as well be their own archetype at this point. Not to mention that 22 maindeck monsters plus 18 Extra Deck monsters are way too many cards for an archetype, and most likely you have cards here that either aren't as effective, or make the archetype unfair by giving it too many options. Darj
I guess a couple of Ninja-looking artworks would be fine if you can't really find anything better. But the high card count is still an issue. Normally, you can support an archetype and take it to the next level or two with a handful of cards, about 3~5. But 24 cards? plus 18 Extra Deck options? You cannot realistically run them all in a Deck, not even as 1-ofs. Again, I have not read all the cards yet, but I'm pretty sure you lost focus at one point. I mean, rather than focusing on the playstyle of Gladiator Beasts, which is, you know, Contact Fusions and Battle Phase tag-outs, you ended up giving them too many tools and options just for the sake of it. Not to mention that I can already spot a couple of redundant cards, and monsters that aren't actually that good due to them having a Level of 5 or higher, which of course makes them undesirable cards to draw. For example, Himiko is a better Bestiari, although it cannot make Gyzarus, which is one of Bestiari's selling points; Gighierhumo has a worse Equeste effect and its Level 5 makes it undesirable to draw; Leonidas is an outright better Essedarii. As for the Extra Deck monsters, despite offering insane Extra Deck toolboxing capabilities to Gladiator Beats, they are actually held back by being impractical to Summon, due to their Ranks, Levels of the Synchros, or requiring 2 Glad Beast Fusions as material, which isn't as easy to set up. Now, I'm not an expert of Gladiator Beasts, especially after Noxious and the latest support, but really, from the 42 cards you got here, I would add to regular Gladiator Beasts, Himiko, Agis, Tsukumorakan for the discard effect, Leonidas for being practical to Summon, some of the Rank4s for improving their Rank4 toolbox, and the Racoons and Tenko in the side or as meta calls. I wouldn't really bother with the rest because of the risk of dead-drawing them and/or their effects not being as rewarding, unless a draw engine with Allure of Darkness or whatever is figured out. By the way, I noticed you are not addressing Link monsters and the new Extra Deck summoning rules, which AFAIK hold Gladiator Beasts back due to their Contact Fusion playstyle, and giving them Synchro and Xyz options don't really assist with their need of getting link points first. Remember when they controlled the board with Heraklinos and War Chariot, while Gyzarus destroyed everything else? Yeah, IMO what they need the most are tools to arrange that setup more easily; Spell/Trap support that lets them attack directly and/or under Armades effect, or resist battle destruction like Noxious kind of does, plus some ATK boosts as backup, would be appreciated too. Kidan Dragneel
The only Lv. 8 which doesn't use 3 Glad-Beast is well Tamer Editor who only asks for 2 Lv. 5 or higher Glad-Beasts. and As for the High Levels, I am just giving a few more cards allowing for the Synchro Summoning. I hope this explains why some effects Repeat, and some requirements are off and Why no Links as well as Long list of cards.
Eshai
Actually, Gladiator Beasts are based on Pokemon, but nonetheless, their entire archetype is science fantasy based on Roman Gladiator matches. I would take out at least 75% of the cards, including all of the redundant ones, take out all of the Synchro/Xyz shenanigans since that's not what they need to be doing, and use the 10 cards you keep making Gladiator Beasts more consistent. Even the rogue status Gladiator Beast decklists, the highest status they can get to, has 25% of their deck dedicated to searching an Elemental HERO Prisma, a card that isn't even a Gladiator Beast. Darj
To be fair, Glad Beast Synchros aren't a bad idea because it let you get Level5+ Glad Beasts for Tamer Editor more easily, and it's not that foreign to give an Extra Deck monster or two to an archetype when it's not exactly their playstyle (e.g. Six Samurais got Synchros later on, and even an Xyz, and most recently a Contact Fusion; Lightsworns got Tuners and Michael, too). But there is still the issue with providing enough Link points for their plays.
