[spoiler=Card Set A]Vylon Gardna
LIGHT - Level 4 - Fairy/Union/Effect - 800/1900
Once per turn, you can either: Target 1 “Vylon” monster you control; equip this card to that target, OR: Unequip this card and Special Summon it. A monster equipped with this card cannot be targeted by your opponent’s card effects, also if the equipped monster would be destroyed by battle or card effect, destroy this card instead. While this card is equipped by its own effect, if the equipped monster destroys an opponent’s monster by battle: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; That monster’s ATK becomes 0 until the end of this turn.

Vylon Gamma
LIGHT - Level 5 - Fairy/Fusion/Tuner/Effect - 2100/1700
2 Tuner monsters
Must be Special Summoned from your Extra Deck by shuffling the above cards into your deck (you do not use “Polymerization”). This card can be treated as 2 Tuner monsters when used for the Synchro Summon of a “Vylon” monster. A Synchro Monster that’s Synchro Summoned using this card as a Tuner monster is sent back to the Extra Deck during your next End Phase. Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can target 1 non-Tuner “Vylon” monster in your hand; equip that target to this card. Immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon 1 Synchro Monster, by banishing this card and the equipped monster as Material. You can only Special Summon “Vylon Gamma” once per turn.

Vylon Polar Circle
Equip Spell
Equip only to a Level 4 or below “Vylon” monster. It gains 1000 ATK during your opponent’s turn. If this face-up card on the field is sent to the Graveyard: You can add 1 "Vylon" Spell Card from your Deck to your hand. You can only control 1 face-up “Vylon Polar Circle”. You can only activate “Vylon Polar Circle” once per turn.

Quantum Rebound
Trap
(This card is always treated as a “Vylon” card)
When a “Vylon” Synchro Monster you control is destroyed by your opponent’s card effect: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to the ATK of the destroyed monster. Immediately after this effect resolves: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or below “Vylon” monster from your Graveyard. You can only use this effect of “Quantum Rebound” once per turn.

[spoiler=Card Set B]Vylon Paragon
LIGHT - Bottom Left, Bottom Right - Machine/Link/Effect - 2200/Link 2
2 Tuner monsters
When this card is Link Summoned: You can equip 1 appropriate “Vylon” card in your GY to this card. If this card is sent from a Monster Zone to the GY: You can pay 1000 LPs, then target 1 face-up “Vylon” monster you control; equip this card to that target. You can send this Equip card and the monster equipped to the card to the GY to Special Summon 1 “Vylon” Synchro monster from your Extra Deck ignoring its Summoning conditions. You can only use each effect of “Vylon Paragon” once per turn.

Vylon Polygon
LIGHT - Level 4 - Thunder/Tuner/Effect - 1700/1300

Once per turn: You can destroy 1 Equip Spell you control to add 1 “Vylon” monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of “Vylon Polygon” once per turn.

Vylon Pentagonal
LIGHT - Level 5 - Machine/Tuner/Effect - 2000/1500

While you control an Equip Spell, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). If this card is sent from the Main Monster Zone to the GY: You can pay 1000 LPs, then target 1 face-up monster you control; equip this card to that target. You can send this Equip Card to the GY: Equip 1 appropriate “Vylon” card from your Deck to the monster this card was equipped to.

Vylon Antimatter
Equip Spell

Negate other effects that target the equipped monster, and if you do, destroy that card. If this card on the field is sent to the GY: You can add 1 "Vylon" Spell Card from your Deck to your hand. You can only control 1 “Vylon Antimatter”.

  • 2 weeks later...

Sigh, I guess I'll vote on this one, though as I've said beforehand, Archetype contests are not ideal for 1v1s because of the general mentality towards analyzing them in general. Going to just summarize the two as a whole instead of individual grading (or just minor footnotes).

Set A

  • Gardna: It's alright for what it's worth. Guess it just makes Alpha and the like much harder to kill in the long run and softens the opponent up afterward.
  • Gamma: Thing is screaming "ohai Instant Fusion, use me!". But in all seriousness, only Omega has any use for this effect and it seems like it was designed specifically for it. Rest of the effect does set up for a Synchro, though iirc, I do not believe an equipped monster can be treated as a material as it currently does not have a Level at this time. I guess it'd be nice generically for Tuner-heavy Fields, but yeah. Not fond of the forced return effect though.
  • Polar Circle: Stat bonus is fine and all, though it's limited to you playing Main Deck for any notable use. Also unnecessary restrictions.
  • Quantum Rebound: (IDK why you couldn't just make this an actual Vylon card, but Archetype has no Traps anyway, so...) Revival effect is fine, but again, still limited by how quickly you can Synchro Summon the bosses (bar Disigma for obvious reasons) and they're still on the slow end.

Set B

  • Paragon: Oh hey, an easier boss for Vylons to go into and triggers stuff, including a faster Omega. I am a bit iffy about getting a faster Omega from this, though you technically are going a roundabout way of getting to it, so...
  • Polygon: Vylons need searching power like everything else nowadays, so it's fine here, outside the requirement to destroy an Equip Card. Suppose it works fine by clearing ones you don't need for other backrow, while floating off of them.
  • Pentagonal: I have concerns about it lacking a hard OPT on its summoning, even though Vylons on their own are kinda slow. At the same time, the Equip game gets faster for them.
  • Antimatter: Considering the amount of targeting removal that exists right now, its effect is pretty good (though it locks you out of your own stuff). Floating effect is standard for the Equips, so nothing wrong there.

====

In the end, I'll have to give it to set B for actually helping Vylons be relevant at this time. A gives them some new toys, but feels more of the same that they already got and that won't really cut it much for Link format.

Guess I win then, but I think you missed the point of Vylon Antimatter. It's a searchable Rod of Silence-Kay'est, which is the combo enabler off of Vylon Element, which Special Summons Tuners each time an Equip card is destroyed. Tbh the Deck with this support is faster than D/D/D and even full power Zoo post Link Format. If you get the right Link monsters (left and right markers) you're capable of making the craziest fields.

I have gone +10 off of a BAD HAND with this support on the Duel Portal.

So yeah these cards are a bit broken. I'm probably going to make Polygon NOT a Tuner so that it's possible to make Synchro while simultaneously slowing down the Deck. I'm also going to restrict Polygon's searching, make Pentagonal's effect a hard OPT, and probably limit Paragon to 1 Special Summon per turn.

More will happen, but as of right now it's a bit hard to balance all of this.

Just keep in mind that any custom support you have made outside this stuff will not be considered, even if you were testing it on DP. (But yeah, either you get a vote now or I end up having to lock this due to inactivity, and then both of you will have wasted your time making this contest).

But either way, Antimatter is fine for what it does.

=====

That being said, if Catman doesn't reply within the next couple hours, result will be official. Just make sure either one of you takes care of the standard voter business and reports result in Leaderboard thread if you want it to count.

I planned on giving Catman half a day (12 hours) since last post, but as there was no objection from him, going to assume that he's fine with the vote.

So yeah, set B wins (and that's apparently you).

Make sure one of you reports the result in the thread, and hands out any voter reps as promised from the opening post. (Remember to be grateful to voters)
