Any of you going back to school? Whether it be Secondary, high school, college, whatever. Will this year or semester be easy or more stressful than the last? Any supplies or books that you need or does your class not require them?

Yup.  Had a slight change in major from civil to electrical engineering but yeah I'm goin back this fall.

Nice!

As for me, I start classes in the last week or two of August. Ran out of pencils and folders and notebooks, so I had to buy new ones. Won't get books until my teachers or instructors confirm that we need one. I didn't last Semester and spent no money on textbooks. In face, I sold a few back. Four classes as usual, but I have about 3 taking place on Thursday. So yeah; I'm going to be busy all Thursday.

Yeah I'm running four classes again this semester.  Then I get core classes next spring.  I'm hoping I won't need textbooks again this semester (I only needed 2/4 last semester).  The money we spend on textbooks is funking dumb.

Anyway, what's your major?

Graphic Design.

For mathematics, I don't think we'll be needing books, since we use coursework and didn't need a book last Semester.

I just wish I wasn't so busy on Thursday. Oh well. At least next year, I'll only need one class.

Also, if you can, sell some of your previous books back. Sure, some they may already have plenty of and not buy back, but there are some they will buy back.

To be fair, civil engineering does have more options available than electric / mechanical, but that may be constrained to what I know about it from my dad's former colleagues at the utility company. (All of them went UH and have engineering degrees).

EE works fine if you work for electric company or something.

But yeah, going back on the 21st and I'm expecting it to be semi-hellish, considering they're all 300-level CEE courses [well, let's see what happens]. Then again, I do have a 4th class that technically amounts to being a teaching assistant [well, I'm supposed to lead a lab session once a week about Japanese Americans in this state]. Then again, I still need to figure out which track I'm going on for CEE; environmental or structural. I've been told by advisor that latter is much harder.

Dad should probably remember this because he asked this in my AMA.

Had to spend +$400 on textbooks for CEE courses; one for material mechanics (I guess how stuff like concrete, etc hold up), another for traffic engineering and third one for fluid mechanics; some of them were used books. Still need one more for the fluid course (lab book), but bookstore doesn't have it right now.

[Yeah, expensive as sheet books and some can't be sold back because loose leaf.]

As for other stuff, I think that's it. Got plenty of notebooks to write stuff in (or just use my Chromebook to type stuff; though for engineering / formula-based courses, it's better if I handwrite.)

Least my schedule isn't too bad for now, bar for maybeThursday when it's 7:30 am - 1:50 pm (well, 2 classes + lab; I do get a break in-between). Tuesday gets out at 10:45 because no lab (same two classes). M/W/F, at least I start at 12:30 so I can actually get some sleep (and get out around 2:20-ish).
