You can only use this card’s name (2) effect once per turn.

(1) Each time an opponent’s monster effect is activated, place 1 Spell Counter on this card when that effect resolves.

(2) You can send this card with 6 or more Spell Counters to the Graveyard; add 1 Spell Card from your Deck to your hand.

 

THIS is what Spell counters needed, gathering counters from the activation of Monster effects, not just spells. Previously in the earlier days it would be fine, but considering how monster effects have taken precedent in the game, it is necessary that the spell counters be gained not just through the activation of spells but also monster effects. The 2nd effect would be used to search a spell card from the deck, and allows you to open up some combos. There's also endymion which is pretty cool, but you'd be adding a spell from the grave instead while keeping this card up

Too bad it's completely reliant on the opponent (outside of using s*** that adds counter themselves) and easy as f*** to remove before it can work.

To be fair, you're probably supposed to use this as a Spell Counter reserve rather than for its actual search effect

But that's slow and bad and still easy to remove anyways so w/e

It's nice that Effect Monsters can trigger the gain, but this card traded one for the other, which is not working along with the rest of the theme of Spell Counters.

Heck, it's a Trap so the rest of the deck doesn't gain Spell Counters off of it either.

It is a recipient but if so, Pitch Black Power Stone is probably more reliable, although I'm not sure about that card either....

Finally, it searches out a Spell, which is nice, but not as much.... Can't think of a Spell Card in Spell Counter Decks that is neither searchable nor a stepping stone just meant to gain more Spell Counters.

 

I think if the theme could consistently use, search, recycle, and increase the Spell Speed of Mega Ton Magical Cannon, that'd be interesting xD

Or a few generics like Mind Control or Raigeki could be searched out I guess.... but it sounds like a hassle.

 

Also, the card has to gain the counters itself and the other new cards can grab from your field altogether..... and it relies on opponent monster effects.... sure the opponent will activate like 4 or 5 of those per turn, but you are still relying on this card staying throughout the opponent's plays.

Chain it to opponent's Grass/Dante summon/Shaddoll Fusion or any other card which typically results in a large chain of monster effects, and hope they don't have Shaddoll Dragon to pop this.

 

Should be a cont. spell, and there should be a way to put Spell Counters from cards onto other cards (maybe there is but I don't know Spell Counter.dek). Then you could at least use it in Exodia Library or Tempest Magician FTK.
