MewMew3 Posted August 14, 2017 Report Share Posted August 14, 2017 My opponent has Black Moonlight Rose Dragon.I Summon Thor, Lord of the Aesir.My opponent targets Thor with Moonlight.I activate Solemn Authority, targeting Thor.Does Solemn Authority prevent Thor from getting bounced? It prevents an "Aesir" monster from getting targeted, but when Moonlight activates it supposedly targets a monster before you can respond. Help? It doesn't.The chain would go like this: Moonlight would target Thor and wait for an answer.You'd activate Solemn Authority which would be in effect from this point on.Then your Thor would be bounced because it was already targeted before you activated Authority in the chain. If only Solemn Authority didn't require you to target a specific Aesir already up on the field to be used, and if Thor's effect negation was a Quick effect..... They have a lot of really cool effects that happen to have a ton more of fine print that makes them super hard to function at a proper level.Authority can only be used preemptively, Valkyria requires a specific discard and an empty field, Loki's first tuner is a Tribute monster with underwhelming capabilities, his second tuner almost has just one combination of cards it can use to make his Synchro, many decks would kill for that Field Spell but these in particular thrive on being destroyed and doing stuff with it, many effects should be quick effects, etc. It is a shame because their anime appearance was among my favorite games in the entirety of the 5Ds anime. But the Nordic user has to win through plot armor.Actually I think that Nordics are the faster deck of the two, unless you're running some sort of Traptrix Naturia Tree thing.
