(You know that I can tell which of you made what, right?)

Card A

I guess this is a good way to get their banishing effects while offering some field advantage, since yeah, they do suffer from relying on Ragnarok for plays in the early game. At the same time, I am somewhat concerned about lack of OPT on said summon. (I mean, it's not like it's Trade In fodder or anything, but still Seven Stars Sword bait like Daedulus). I guess the Anti-Spell Fragrance thing is fine. The return effect is fine for triggering Dimension and the field, I guess.

Flavor-wise, while yeah, it's not based on a serpentine/draconian monster from the past, I'll disregard that for right now.

Card B

Banishing effect is fine, though the different names thing partially kills it in certain cases (you're likely using it to banish any Metaphys that were discarded for Trade-In or other things, so shouldn't really make too much of a difference). I'm partially iffy on it shutting down your Battle Phase on its effect, though said drawback is moot if you use Asymmetaphys or the forced banish of Factor; can't argue with blowing up 2 cards without triggering targeting protection. Though, with that all said and done, this card doesn't really advance Metaphys in the early game to the point where they can set up without relying on Ragnarok.

Flavor-wise, you're fine.

====

It's a hard choice to make, since both cards accomplish certain things for the Deck but lack in other departments.

Going to vote B for design reasons; while it is true that A does speed up their early game a bit (which helps), there is also that issue with it triggering its own ASF effect (if I read that correctly and applies to itself) and the targets, while great, are limited. B is still reliant on Ragnarok/Tyrant to make plays, but helps you to retrieve dead Metaphys in the GY and free destruction. That, and flavor is there for the most part (while not really the best one, Serpent Night is more iconic than Simorgh, which was a GX thing).

Metaphys Simorgh(Cool. Simorgh is cool.)
LIGHT - Level 7 - Wyrm/Effect - 2700/1000 (They already made a LIGHT version of Simorgh. Kinda wish you went with that version as the inspiration rather than Dark Simorg, but considering that one's the most well known this is fine.)
If this card is in your hand or GY: You can banish 2 other "Metaphys" cards from your hand or field, except "Metaphysical Regeneration": Special Summon this card. (That's bit scary. Kinda wondering why it says cards rather than monsters. Monsters would make more sense in context and would probably help balance the card a bit)

If this card was Special Summoned by the effect of a "Metaphys" monster, both players must Set Spell Cards before activating them, except "Metaphys" cards, and cannot activate them until their next turn after Setting them. (So instead of making it like Dark Simorgh you based the effect on the other combo piece Anti-Spell Fragrance. I guess, it's just not what Simorgh is typically supposed to do.)

Once per turn, during the Standby Phase, if this card was banished last turn: You can shuffle this banished card into the Deck; activate 1 banished "Metaphys" Spell/Trap, except "Metaphysical Regeneration". (Cool effect. Just wondering if it should've activated from the Deck instead, considering they don't usually banish their Spells and Traps.)

Solid Card

Metaphys Night Dragon (Serpent Night Dragon is a bit obscure. I would rather call it "Metaphys Night Serpent" instead for that reason.)
LIGHT - Level 7 - Wyrm/Effect - 2350/2400
If this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a “Metaphys” monster: You can banish up to 3 cards with different names from either player’s GY. (Not sure if that's the kind of card Metapbys needs, considering they don't typically put cards in the GY.)

Once per turn, during the Standby Phase, if this card was banished last turn: You can shuffle this banished card into the deck; Destroy up to 2 cards your opponent controls. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase the turn you activate this effect. (Idk how I feel about destroying 2 cards, or negating your Battle Phase during your Standby Phase.

Fine but could be better

I give the win to Card A for a couple reaason:

- Simorgh is a LOT more iconic than Serpent Night, and seems to fit the theme of Metaphys a lot better.

- The fact Simorgh can Special Summon itself is probably the kind of speed and utility boost the Deck needs, while Night Dragon would just be another Metaphys that happens to destroy 2 cards.

- It makes Star Eater a lot easier to Synchro Summon.
