[Finished]Pokémon...in Yu-Gi-Oh!?! [COMPLETED]

Fruiota_Hiroshi

Recommended Posts

For this contest, participants are to choose one of the current 802 Pokémon and turn it into a Yu-Gi-Oh! monster card. Mega Evolutions are not allowed. There are no requirements for you to join.

Once a member clearly claims a Pokémon, its entire evolutionary line is off limits for everyone else. For example, if someone picks Flareon, then Leafeon cannot be chosen, or if one person has Squirtle, another can't have Blastoise. This also means that no two people can use the same Pokémon. Don't worry, there are plenty of Pokémon to choose from.

The contest has concluded. Congratulations to everyone!

You will not lose points if you use the Legacy format instead of Standard, or vise versa. If you mix them, I completely understand and will not reduce your point value.

[spoiler=Rotom]IMG_0618.jpg

You can only control 1 "Rotom". You can target 1 Machine-Type monster your opponent controls; Equip this card to it, and if you do, gain control of it. A monster equipped with this card has its effects negated, also it cannot be tributed or be used as material in a Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Summon. If the equipped monster is sent to the GY: You can Special Summon this card. You can only use each effect of "Rotom" once per turn.

Ninjask - Sonic Insect

Effect Monster l Insect l Wind l level 3

You can Special Summon this card, from your hand, by shuffling all cards from your graveyard into your deck (min 1.), during the turn you activate this effect you cannot special summon monsters from your extra deck, except WIND monsters.

You can double this card's ATK, during the turn you activate this effect this card cannot attack.

At the end of the battle phace, if this card did not attack, this card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects until the start of your next Battle Phace.

If a monster is summoned to your side of the field while this card's ATK is double its original ATK, you can shuffle this card into your deck; that summoned monster's ATK is doubled until the End Phace.

You can only activate each of the effects of "Ninjask - Sonic Insect" once per turn.

Chandelure  ATK 2500 DEF 1800 Level 7 Fire/Fiend/effect

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand), by banishing 2 Fiend-Type monsters from your field or GY. Once per turn, you can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; its ATK becomes half its current ATK, and if it does, this card gains that lost ATK. This card is unaffected by your opponent’s monster effects. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: you can shuffle 2 of your banished Fiend-Type monsters and this card into your deck, then draw 1 card.

I've already adapted Flygon and Ant Lions into the game (look in my archetypes and Anteater LV is there) so I'll have to do something different.

Rather Missingno. or Porygon

You have roughly 27 hours and 10 minutes to submit your card before the judging phase begins.

EDIT: The submission phase has concluded. Eshai, yours will not be considered at this point, even if you post it.

Okay, here's the results. I must say, I'm impressed, even though there were only three cards submitted.

[spoiler='MetalSonic's score][spoiler=Balance] The first effect clearly states that your opponent has to control a Machine-type monster for you to activate the first effect. Sure, Machine-based decks are common nowadays, but what happens if you run into someone who runs Blue-Eyes or HEROes? "Rotom" basically becomes useless in those situations. Let's say your opponent has "Cyber End Dragon" on their field, though. Though you wouldn't be able to use its effects or really do anything with it, you'd still have a high-powered beatstick, which is useful against many different Dueling styles. It's also still possible to use as a Link Material. I'm not so sure about that last effect, though; "Rotom" returning from the GY all the time would turn it into a monster-stealing engine like Graydles, but without needing to be destroyed on the field to activate its effect. Besides, this leaves the possibility of you destroying the equipped monster yourself, possibly to upgrade your field with an even more powerful monster from your opponent's side. At least each effect can only be activated once per turn, though, and you can only control 1 "Rotom". 31 points

[spoiler=Creativity] DARK and Thunder-type make sense, considering Rotom is both Ghost and Electric. I'm assuming you based the monster-stealing effect off of Rotom's ability to possess various objects in-game (hence its different forms), and although the way you did it makes sense, I can see a better argument for potentially stealing just any monster. After all, Rotom can become Grass, Ice, Flying, Water, or Fire, which could equate to EARTH, WIND, WATER, and FIRE Attributes (and then you could add LIGHT and DARK because of Rotom's type). I don't know where the revival effect comes from, unless its another reference to it being a Ghost. 27 points

[spoiler=Grammar]"Tributed" should be capitalized, as should "Material". For the revival effect, the way you worded it makes it seem like this card can be equipped on to any monster (even without using this card's effect) and that whenever that unknown monster is destroyed, "Rotom" comes back. You could have worded it in a way that specifies how "Rotom" was equipped to the destroyed monster (in this case, by the effect of "Rotom"). Otherwise, it seems solid to me. 12 points

700 ATK/700 DEF

[spoiler='Ninjaskisbae's score][spoiler=Balance]So you can Special Summon it from your hand at the expense of losing your entire GY (whether it's 1 card or 39). This can help you avoid decking out, but it leaves you with nothing to work with in there. That's a fair trade-off, I think. Being unable to Summon anything from your Extra Deck (except WIND monsters) during the turn you Summoned this card via its effect also seems reasonable. Doubling this card's ATK every turn would prevent you from attacking, sure, but it would make "Ninjask - Sonic Insect" more defensive at least, though it could still be attacked by even a relatively weak monster after the first turn you use its effect (though you don't lose Ninjask). The doubling transfer is very overpowered, though. Summon Ninjask using its effect, then use its other effect to double its ATK. Then, Normal Summon a Level 4 or below monster (let's say it has 1900 ATK), then transfer the doubled ATK to it, and you now have a 3800 beatstick after doing very little to get it. That's a bit overwhelming, don't you think? There should be some sort of restriction, like not being able to use the transfer the same turn you doubled Ninjask's ATK. However, if you doubled Ninjask's ATK multiple times, you cannot use this effect, which is somewhat fair. Each effect can only be activated once per turn, which is good. 24 points

[spoiler=Creativity]Making it a WIND Insect-type monster is logical, as it is Bug/Flying in Pokémon. I don't know where the first effect comes from, though it is interesting and unique. The second effect seems to be a reference to Speed Boost doubling Ninjask's speed every turn in the games, and then the rest is basically so Ninjask stays on the field after said doubling. The transfer is supposed to be Baton Pass, I'm guessing, but as I mentioned before, it can only be used while Ninjask's ATK is 1400. 34 points

[spoiler=Grammar]There are a number of issues here. You placed an extra comma in the first sentence (after "Special Summon this card"). Also, the first sentence is a run-on; you should have used a period instead of a comma after (min. 1) and started a new sentence there. "Special Summon" and "Summon" should always be capitalized, as should "Battle Phase". You misspelled "Phase" three times. "You can double this card's ATK, during the turn you activate this effect this card cannot attack" is also a run-on; you should have ended the first sentence after "ATK". Also, in that sentence, there should be a comma after "activate this effect." 5 points

[spoiler='Nekomata's score][spoiler=Balance]Its Summoning condition is fair, though I don't know why you chose "or" instead of "and/or;" this isn't an issue, though, and makes "Chandelure" slightly harder to Summon. The draining effect's ability to be repeated multiple turns in a row makes this card overpowered after it's used multiple times in a row, like a Dark Rebellion on steroids; that's not good at all, especially since it's unaffected by your opponent's monster effects. The last effect seems reasonable to recycle banished monsters and this card, though. 21 points

[spoiler=Creativity]Making it a FIRE Fiend-type makes sense, though Zombie-type makes more sense, considering it's a Ghost in Pokémon. The Summoning condition seems to be something you thought of on your own, and I like it (ignoring the Fiend-type part). The ATK-draining effect is, like I said before, just Dark Rebellion's effect, but you can use it as many turns in a row as you want, assuming "Chandelure" stays on the field; that doesn't seem very creative to me, also I don't see how this relates to Pokémon (though I could just be missing the reference, in which case I apologize). I like your style for the last effect, though. 28 points

[spoiler=Grammar]The correct term is "Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set," from what I've seen, rather than what you wrote. The comma after (from your hand) doesn't belong. Those are the only grammatical issues I could find. 14 points
