LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
Okay so I'm not a huge American Football guy but I figured this could be a fun thread to have and something that some of y'all might be interested in discussing. Since the preseason has started recently I think it's a good time as any to start this thread up. Discuss various teams/players. Cheer on your favorite team. And just talk about the game in general, in General.
jabber2033
Go, Pack, Go! Preseason is almost over, so that's a good thing. I like watching football in general, but since most of the guys playing in the second half won't be on the final 53, I tend to loose interest. We're opening home against the Seahawks. Then we also have Dallas and Atlanta in the first 5 weeks. So 3 playoff-caliber teams in the first 5 weeks. Gonna be a tough first stretch. Anybody doing Fantasy Football this year? Flash Flyer - Sakura
Only person in the NFL I probably care about is Mariota, due to the fact he's from here and does stuff back home. There's also Manti Te'o, but...we don't talk about him much [iirc, he got meme'd somewhere after that girlfriend incident]. Mariota's doing fine from what I hear; can't say same about other guy though (not talked about). But yeah, other than that, don't really care about it too much either. I watch part of the Super Bowl out of boredom because everything else on TV at that time sucks, but that's about it; seasonal games, I'd rather not watch. Think my parents have a slight preference for certain times, but IDK. ==== Heck, I don't even care about my own university's football team / pay attention. They [barely] won against UMass yesterday so I guess it helps them, but during the time I've been in college until last year (I think), they've been getting their asses kicked hard for most part and usually because talent is bleh or continue to make bad choice on keeping quarterback even though he's terrible. Then again, a lot of guys who play football down here are Samoan / Pacific Islander (they're big), so...yeah.
(GigaDrillBreaker)
I'm from Washington State, and at this point we are pretty funking famous for loving our football team, the Seahawks. Honestly, it is because our baseball team is mediocre and we haven't had basketball in like a decade. In any case, I will be watching the hawks games, but it isn't something I am too invested in. Watching football is more of a social event than anything.
jabber2033
So important date today: 2pm ET was the cutdown date from 90 to 53-man rosters. Most rosters probably aren't final, so expect adjustments: ~1100 players are out of a job until they clear waivers now. Side note: The Miami-Tab Bay game has been postponed due to Hurricane Irma. So Week 1 is finally here. Good to see the Patriots knocked down a few pegs. And a Texas court blocked Elliot's suspension.
jabber2033
So we're at about the halfway point of the season. A few things to note: It's a tough year to be a QB.Eagles are the best team in the NFC.Chiefs are the best team in the AFC.Giants are trash. So are the 49ers.So are the Browns (As usual)
Face McShooty
kinda crazy that the top team in the NFC is the Eagles, who have only lost to the Chiefs, who are the top team in the AFC... and the Giants are at the bottom of the NFC East... what kinda world are we living in? LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
Packers are ass. With or without Rodgers.I'm surprised you survived being in Green Bay O.o But anyway real talk I, ironically, don't pay super close attention to the games but I can definitely say the Packers are likely screwed if Rodgers stays injured. Most of Green Bay is full of pussies except maybe the east side. So I'm not surprised. I talk sheet about the Packers at their bars and everything else.
