Packet Switcher

WIND

Link Arrows: < (Left)

Cyberse/Link/Effect

1 Token monster

Once per turn: You can target 1 Spell/Trap your opponent controls; return it to the hand.

400/LINK-1

Ok, so you can use this to bait out backrow, but also to co-link more easily than with Proxy Dragon when using Tokens. Also you can bounce the field spell you gave to your opponent with Set Rotation for +

It's WIND because it bounces things and it removes backrow, but also because data packets move as fast as the wind if you have a good connection. Cyberse type so that it can be used to ladder into some Cyberse locked Links, such as Excode Talker.

This is... a bit plain

For starters, it requires a single token. Cool, just that most Token Summoners give you more than 1 Token to work with, which means if you activate Scapegoat while you already have a Link monster out, you can get 3 of these out in 1 Turn. I would at the very least make a "this card can only be Special Summoned once per turn." There's a reason all of the Link 1 monsters point down at the moment. That is why. While it is situational it's not a bad idea to run Scapegoat with Links running around.

Second, the effect is a bit too simple, especially for the stat line. 400 ATK with that effect isn't going to do much. I would make it a Quick Effect, and then maybe buff the Atk to 1000.

What do you mean it's a bit simple? It does exactly what it needs to do, and no more.

You can't get out 3 of these turn 1 with Scapegoat because of Scapegoat's restriction that you can't Summon other monsters during the turn you activate it. In fact, since Advanced is for meta reviews, please don't take terrible cards like Scapegoat into account in your reviews in this section. It is actually a very bad idea to run Scapegoat, links or no links.

I made it point sideways because I want a Link 1 that points sideways, that's half of the point of the card. The other half is to bounce the Field Spell I gave my opponent with Set Rotation so I can do more field spell things. As a Quick Effect it becomes a pseudo Drident, in that it's a control piece (admittedly not as strong as a quick pop) that only requires 1 material, which imo is degenerate.

The ATK could be stronger, but there's not much difference between 400 and 1000 in terms of what can beat over it, and I wanted to differentiate this card from Link Spider.

IMO this card is deceptively too good: Easy to make, left marker enables to Summon 3 of these in a row with enough Token fodder, and baits backrow, forcing the opponent to either spend it on these guys, or take a big hit once you proceed to make your Link laddering and combos. The interaction with Set Rotation is evil, too. IMO it actually should be nerfed a bit since that "I clear out your backrow before I follow up by Link combos" tactic sounds too nasty to me, but IDK exactly how. My first thought was tributing the monster as cost, but then the card wouldn't be that good; another approach is a single use, on-Summon effect, but that wouldn't be that big of a difference. Perhaps a hard OPT? IDK. Then again, it would also require you to spend 3 of the precious Extra Deck slots on 3 copies of this.
