Blackwing Tamer - Amore Maestro
DARK Warrior Link Effect Monster
Link Arrows: Bottom-Left, Bottom-Right
ATK 1500/LINK-2
2 Winged Beast monsters
While this card points to any "Blackwing" monsters, this card and the pointed monster(s) gain the following effects.
● Cannot be destroyed by battle.
● Any battle damage you would take from a battle involving this card and an opponent's monster is inflicted to your opponent instead. (You can only gain this effect once per turn.)

Like father like son, sorta. Unlike his dad "Armor Master", this is the second Blackwing Tamer and thus the second Warrior of the Archetype, its protection from being destroyed by battle is applied to itself AND other Blackwings it points to, also instead of preventing battle damage once per turn it forces your opponent to take that damage instead of yourself, but only if this card or a Blackwing it points to battles. I made this card in an attempt to bring some speed back to the Blackwings while offering a new strategy; swarm and protect, get your big Blackwing Synchros on board, have this card point to them, then you essentially could have 3 different versions of Armor Master (my favorite Blackwing and I'm sad he didn't get to be the boss of the Archetype). It fits in perfectly with a standard Blackwing Deck based on swarming or you could just use any Winged Beast Archetype to bring this card out. In B4 someone yells at me, YES it is a Warrior only because Blackwing Tamer - Obsidian Hawk Joe is a Warrior (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Blackwing_Tamer_-_Obsidian_Hawk_Joe), so please get mad, get salty, get triggered, then come at me. Please enjoy.

I wouldn't review this because I've never played Blackwings, even though I'm quite familiar with the Archetype, and Links are still new, but this has an Italian Name. So this caught my attention.

I don't know where are you from, but "Amore" means "Love", and "Maestro" could be either "Teacher in elementary school" or "Music teacher" or, sometimes, something like "Senpai".

The Link Arrows are starting to be always Bottom Left and Bottom Right. I know it's the easiest solution and it offers maximum space, but why not doing Bottom/Bottom Left? At least not every card in the world will be symmetrical. But that's just something I'd like to see, not an actual problem.

The ATK might be too much. So far, the strongest Link 2 monster I know is Missus Radiant/Mastar Boy (don't know if I spelled them right, but they're 1900 ATK). I get you wanted to have that famous 2500 ATK, but that might be more accurate for a Link 3.

Battle protection is quite outdated, but it's always appreciated.

The second effect is really interesting. Yet I don't know if it's overpowered for a Link 2. I know it's not splashable, it requires other Blackwings... I may need to see it played.

Wow, I never noticed Obsidian Hawk Joe was a Warrior until it was pointed out in this thread xD

You decided to go for such semi-generic material requirements, huh. Even if it would be practically a vanilla in non-Blackwings deck, a Link2 this accessible with its markers towards your side should be quite good already. Not that it would be terribly overpowered. Then again, such requirements make it much more accessible with non-BW techs in BW decks; also as precedence, Nothung the Starlight is a generic BW Synchro.

As for the effect, it's close to a Link version of Armor Master; or I would say a better version because it protects others and gets to inflict damage back to the opponent... but it has some conditions to fulfill so it should be fair. The ATK is indeed on the high side considering the average non fully generic Link2 has 1900~2000, but since the ATK bonus is effectively archetype-specific, it can get away with it, IMO.

The card looks fine to me.

I made the requirements generic so that other Decks could have access to a Link Monster that would open at least 2 of their Main Monster Zones so they could Summon more than 1 monster from their Extra Deck, at least until Konami decides to make more generic Link Monsters that point to 2 or more Main Monster Zones on your field.

So wait I don't understand (because no one mentioned this), you get punished for using Blackwings as materials? Wouldn't I rather have 1500 ATK than 2500 ATK on a monster that can't be destroyed by battle and can reflect damage? Sure, destroying monsters by battle is cool, but Blackwings can just run some card effect destruction and be fine.

You also acknowledged the fact that Gofu exists, yet you wouldn't even want to use them as materials while this card's on the field. Seriously, Summon Gofu and tokens in Attack Position, Normal Summon a whatever monster that isn't a Blackwing and Special Summon any Blackwing from your hand if you can, Link those 2 monster into this card, have 3 Yubels and this card to OTK if your opponent if they have a monster with enough ATK. While not the most consistent OTK, it shows you'd rather not use the Tokens or Gofu in the Link Summon of this monster.

I would make this just 2 monsters, which means it can be Summoned with the Tokens, and if you happen to use 2 Blackwing monsters it can instead increase the ATK of ANY monster on the field as a Quick Effect, meaning you can increase the ATK of your opponent's monster, in which this card would be more effective. Sure you could use the Tokens, but then you would have less of a Damage potential since they become the equivalent of 2000 ATK monsters. This ATK buff doesn't have to be 1000, but it would be a much more interesting effect as a whole.

Sorry if this was a bit harsh, but this kind of effect would probably be a great card for Blackwings that could be Deck defining with a couple tweaks. I think this card could be awesome.

You can also use Gofu for the damage, this card's effect is applied to itself AND every blackwing it points to and Gofu has 0 ATK. Not to mention, this effect is once a turn only so its not really a good idea to have a bunch of monsters on board with low ATK and you can only reflect battle damage once a turn. Gofu is THE BEST card to get this out fast and to utilize its effects.

This card's name is basically a corruption of "Blackwing Armor Master", with Armor replaced with "Amore" and Master replaced with "Maestro", and thanks for noticing.

I know the effects (I even talked about the interactions with Gofu) but think you missed the point. Why not allow players to use Gofu's tokens to Link Summon into this card when it isn't much of a benefit to do so? Especially if the card is meant to work with Blackwing monsters like Gofu.

Here would be my version of the effect if it wasn't clear enough the last time.

Blackwing Tamer - Amore Maestro

DARK - Bottom Left, Bottom Right - Warrior/Link/Effect - 1500 ATK/LINK-2

2 monsters

Once per turn, if you Link Summoned this card using only "Blackwing" monsters as Link Materials (Quick Effect): You can target 1 monster; it gains 800 ATK. While this card is pointing to a "Blackwing" monster, "Blackwing" monsters cannot be destroyed by battle, also any battle damage you would take from a battle involving a "Blackwing" monster you control is inflicted to your opponent instead.

A lot of the restrictions were kinda unnecessary. Gustos have a Synchro similar to this and they have so many cards that Special Summon from the Deck when they're destroyed. Blackwings don't even have a focus like that and yet this card has been somehow made to be worse and even more situational.

Redid the card, the materials are now Winged Beasts so its not generic but can be played in any Deck focused on Winged Beasts, removed the ATK gain effect, and now it and any Blackwing it points to (not just exactly 2) gain effects that protect them from being destroyed by battle, and reflect damage.
