Challenger's Choice-

A) In the same vein as "Sauravis, the Ancient and Ascended", make a Level 7 or lower Ritual Monster that can be Ritual Summoned using either "Contract with the Abyss" or "Earth Chant".

B) Make 2 cards: A Ritual Spell Card that generically Ritual Summons a FIRE, WIND or WATER Ritual Monster (which will be listed as Card A1/B1), and a Level 7 or lower Ritual Monster that can be Ritual Summoned with that Ritual Spell Card (which will be listed as Card A2/B2).

You can only use this effect of "Abyssal Curator" once per turn.

DARK/Dragon-Type Ritual Effect Monster/Level 7/2800 ATK/1000 DEF

Lore: You can Ritual Summon this card with "Contract with the Abyss" You can only use 1 of these "Diabolos, the Exiled and Empowered" effects per turn, and only once that turn.
• You can discard this card (Quick Effect): immediately after this effect resolves, Normal Summon 1 Level 7 or lower monster with 2800 or 1400 ATK, without Tributing if it is Level 5 or higher.
• When a card or effect is activated that would destroy or banish a card(s) (Quick Effect): You can declare 3 card names; negate the activation, then your opponent reveals the top 3 cards of their Deck (or all of them, if less than 3) and places as many cards they control as possible on the bottom of the Deck in any order, but not more than the number of revealed cards you named.

Card A is not that interesting and its Quick Effect is too powerful in the hand. It's better than a lot of Trap reanimaton if you don't need to revive Level 5 or higher monsters while being much more searchable. But that's just a bonus. Think about it in Tellarknights or something compared to Traps like CotH or BttF.

Card B is interesting. It has Monarch stats and does a Monarch-esque stat check that can Normal Summon Senju/Manju a second time or on an opponent's turn. It can't Tribute Summon anything though, so no Tribute Summon triggers. It's quite fair. Since Senju/Manju also have 1000 DEF, that could have been included in the check as well, but either way works. Its field effect is also pretty interesting and is fair. You can negate the activation of your own card/effect with it, which is encouraged because it doesn't destroy the negated card. These effects probably didn't need to be super hard once per turn, just hard once per turn each.

Card B is more fair and interesting and tries harder at actually working with certain cards in the card pool (stat check, protection, self-pop/banish, Normal Summons, SPYing) instead of just being generically good, boring effects (mill, draw, reanimate).

Card A isn't a Ritual monster. It's an Elder Entity Norden-esc staple that can be used in any Deck without a Ritual Spell, but if you do use the Ritual Spell, it's a - 2, then a + 1.5 with Deck thinning, which is pretty balanced. My main problem is that it's a Quick Effect, since Special Summoning as a hand Trap and be bonkers with something like Fossil Dyna. Otherwise, it's a Ritual Shaddoll monster.

Card B is so close. The Quick Effect that can Normal Summon doesn't say "Ignoring its summoning conditions" which is REALLY important. It would've synergized with itself, it would've synergized with Dark Armed Dragon. If there would've been a problem then you should've just limited it to DARK monsters. If that is what the card had, it would've won me over instantly. Rather than having simple negation you go for more interesting card effects where you call out card names. I like how they have to search every turn they get negated since you can remember the next time and screw your opponent's field if they aren't careful. That part was done really well, while also giving homage to what the card was previously.

I gotta give it to Card B for being more interesting while also something that can be improved on. While not being as good competitively, it could be really good for generic DARK Decks of the past.

Card A

Already mentioned above; card is basically Ritual No®den that mills if you Ritual Summon. I mean, the effects are generally fine on their own, but then we have the issue of this just being another Deck thinner that can then start reviving stuff soon after you mill and all. So...there's not too much reason to actually Ritual Summon it when you can add on to Rank 4 stuff. (Not as abusable as Norden, yes, but you get where this is going)

Card B

Ohai Diabolos retrain... But yeah, card works fine for getting its old form out due to the SS lock on it. Though with that being said, I don't think Monarchs want this for obvious reason and not seeing any DARK decks that can afford it either. At least it gets Manju/Senju out among other things [there are no Level 5+ monsters with 1400 ATK that are even worth running]; a free 2800 ATK 'mon sounds good though.

Disruption is kind of neat though, especially if you can negate your own effect (why?) and then cut the opponent's field down if you declare it right. After a while, you can probably take a guess at what MIGHT be in your opponent's Deck. Yes, it is luck-based and requires you to know this, but least it's chainable to most forms of removal and punishes the opponent for being careless with plays.
