You know that Poison-Types cannot be poisoned except through Corrosion, right? Because that will make Poison Heal difficult to use.

Abilities:

Prankster | Snatcher (see previous pages)

Parting Shot

Swagger

Snatch

Baton Pass

Slack Off

Taunt

Switcheroo

Recycle

Rest

Protect

Yawn

Role:

Support. Can do stuff like Priority Parting Shot and Slack Off, and disrupt with its Knock Off + Thief signature move. Snatcher ability allows it to pseudo-check setup sweepers. Item Holder is for Baton Passing or being funny with Ability Capsule. Along Protect and Fake Out, it can be played as an scout of sorts, as a nod to the "recoon" (recon) in its name.

Stat spread:

  • Hp: 95
  • Attack: 80

Thief

A dragon with a natural born habit of protecting treasure. The heat of its body caused the treasure it was protecting to melt, and stick to its body as armor.

Dragold has a high chance to hold (big) nuggets, making it a decent target to farm money from.

Name - Granice
Type - Ice / Rock
Ability - Solid Rock / Ice Body [HA]
Stats (HP / Atk / Def / SpA / SpD / Spe [Total]) - 85 / 65 / 135 / 115 / 65 / 70 [bST - 535]
Notable Moves - Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Icicle Crash, Icicle Spear, Earthquake, Power Gem, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Freeze Dry, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Earth Power, Shadow Ball, Rock Polish, Calm Mind, Stealth Rock
Description - Think Gigalith, but ice. Not the most creative but hey.

A bulky attacker. Ice / Rock sucks on something this slow, although Solid Rock is there to slightly help. 70 speed is low, although not criminally low. With a Rock Polish it can potentially be a threat to something. Solid Rock helps it set up, as it makes those nasty weaknesses on the physical side hit for a lot less. Just don't let it near any special attacker.

Lets go with a specially offensive Poison-type

Name - Cordra
Type - Electric / Poison
Ability - Lightning Rod / Strong Jaw / Technician [HA]
Stats (HP / Atk / Def / SpA / SpD / Spe [Total]) - 56 / 122 / 49 / 108 / 72 / 113 [bST - 520]
Notable Moves - Poison Fang, Thunder Fang, Fire Fang, Ice Fang, Wild Charge, Crunch, Poison Jab, Aqua Tail, Knock Off, Shadow Sneak, Dragon Tail, U-Turn, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Discharge, Volt Switch, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Overheat, Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, Focus Blast, Charge Beam, Incinerate, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Breath, Zap Cannon, Coil, Nasty Plot, Taunt, Toxic Spikes, Thunder Wave, Magnet Rise, Electrify
Description - A cobra looking Pokemon that resembles an electric cord. Its face resembles an alligator clip.

A fast attacker that can go either special or physical. Both sides of the spectrum have great coverage, although the special side has a bit more going for it with its access to Focus Blast and a better STAB move in Thunderbolt. Physical sets, however, have access to Strong Jaw elemental fangs which gives it decent coverage and a good STAB move. Coil and Nasty Plot are both really good set-up moves, and it can do some silly things with Electrify Lightning Rod or a Toxic Spikes set.

Let's go with a wall that has at least 1 offensively inclined typing (for example, defensive Ice-type would fit, although obviously you don't have to do Ice)

Counterstrike: When this Pokemon receives damage from an attack, the attacking Pokemon receives twice the damage [i.e. automatic Counter/Mirror Coat that doesn't require move slot]

Movepool - Close Combat, Hammer Arm, Elemental punches, Poison Jab, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Drain Punch, Meteor Mash, Mach Punch, Toxic, Bulk Up, Circle Throw, Mind Reader, Knock Off

(I would say "eat your heart out Conkeldurr", but he's still way stronger and has slightly higher speed.)

[spoiler=Mimicox]

Mimicox (Mimic + Box)
Dark | Steel
Mimic Pokemon
Base stats: 490
Stat spread: Average HP (~80), Atk and Sp.Atk (~70), high Def and Sp.Def (~110), low Spe
Appearance: Resembles a metallic treasure chest made of steel, but it is slightly open, revealing teeth and 2 glowing eyes in a dark background.

Abilities:
Iron Barbs | Disguise
Hidden: Strong Jaw

Notable & flavor moves:
Pursuit
Sucker Punch
Knock Off
Throat Chop
Crunch
Foul Play
Dark Pulse
Flash Cannon
Iron Head
Smart Strike
Gyro Ball
Heavy Slam
Metal Burst

Volt Switch
Explosion
Fake Out
Psychic Fangs
Fire/Thunder/Ice Fang

Stealth Rock
Spikes
Spiky Shield
Taunt
Swagger
Flatter
Topsy-Turvy
Parting Shot
Iron Defense
Autonomize

Baton Pass

Mean Look

Role:
Wall and support. Intended to be a Dark counterpart of Ferrothorn and Foretress, in that it is a Steel wall with plenty of disruptive moves and a x4 weakness to at least 1 type. And really, this Pokemon benefits from a lot of tools to play with: entry hazard setup, slow switches with Volt Switch and Parting Shot, Foul Play, stat debuff through Topsy-Turvy, even disabling sound moves through Throat Chop. Its ATK isn't really impressive to take advantage of it, but the highlight of its physical attack movepool is the utility they offer, and one could be silly with Strong Jaw for the surprise offensive role.

Lets try to use a "Revive" on this game to see if it works.

Name: Steamech

Type: Steel / Water

Abilities: Metallize(1) / Iron fist (/ Flash fire)

Stat spread:

  • Hp: 65
  • Attack: 110
  • Defense: 95
  • S. Attack: 55
  • S. Defense: 95
  • Speed: 70
Notable moves:
  • Shift gear
  • Gear grind
  • Meteor mash
  • Bullet punch
  • Aqua jet
  • Waterfall
  • Return / Frustration
  • Flame wheel
  • Heat crash
  • Fire punch
  • Thunder punch
  • Ice punch
  • Drain punch
  • Hammer arm
A steampunk inspired Pokémon. Due to the high temperature of steam, it has access to various fire type moves. It has few notable water moves since most water moves require S.Attack… which is quite subpar in this case.

(1): Normal-type moves become Steel-type moves. The power of those moves is boosted a little.

Next up: Supportive Dragon type Pokémon.

[spoiler=Lunebelle]

Lunebelle
Moon bell Pokemon
Dragon | Fairy
Base stats: 500
Stat spread: Moderate HP (~100), low Atk and Spe (~50) average Sp.Atk (~70), high Def and Sp.Def (~110/85).
Appearance: Snake-like Pokemon similar to Dragonair, Milotic. An unique trait of it is a big bell hanging on its tail, which gives it flavor moves like Iron Tail, Anchor Shot, Heal Bell, Boomburst and Uproar. The sprite shows it always smiling cheerfully.
Its shiny colors have the bell in a green-blue color, resembling Bronzong.

Abilities:
Triage | Magic Bounce
Hidden: Reverb - Increases the power of sound-based moves by 20%, this also includes Belch. When the Pokemon uses a Sound-based status move, the move will be repeated the next turn after both Pokemon perform their selected moves, and even if the Pokemon is switched out (manually or by Roar, etc.). Repeated Parting Shot won't switch out your Pokemon.

Notable & flavor moves:
Play Rough
Moonblast
Draining Kiss
Clanging Scales
Outrage
Dragon Rush
Draco Meteor
Dragon Pulse
Dragon Tail

Anchor Shot
Iron Tail
Volt Switch
Uproar
Boomburst
Relic Song
Snarl

Wish
Protect
Substitute
Moonlight
Haze
Defog
Reflect
Light Screen
Heal Bell
Healing Wish
Baton Pass
Supersonic
Sing
Toxic
Glare
Coil
Roar

Role:
Support or Cleric. It has plenty of moves affected by Triage in Wish, Draining Kiss, Healing Wish, Moonlight. Its high base HP increases its longevity, as well as allows it to generate Substitutes with more than 100 HP, a key number vs. Seismic Toss/Night Shade, which can then be Baton Passed. Other support moves are Haze and Dragon Tail for stat removal, dual screens, the well-known Defog, Anchor Shot, and Volt Switch for slow switches coupled with a low Speed nature. Its alternate abilities enhance its support role, Magic Bounce by bouncing back hazards and other moves, and Reverb by performing x2 Heal Bell, Sing, Supersonic, etc. It has access to strong attacks in Draco Meteor, Boomburst and Clanging Scales, the latter 2 boosted by Reverb, but with average Sp.Atk and no Sp.Atk boosting moves, these are more as options for hitting relatively decent. Clanging Scales deals more consistent damage than Meteor, but you may have to be careful about the Def drops. On the other hand, Dragon Rush and Outrage backed up by Coil are a possibility, especially when the accuracy boost can patch up the former, but with such low base Atk, it is not advisable. Coil can be paired with moves like Sing + Reverb, as well as Baton Pass, though.

Toxeon (uh yeah, Poison Eeveelution because I'm dry of ideas for this)

Type: Poison

Height: 3'1 [0.94 m]

Weight: 59.5 lb [27 kg]

Stat Spread: 65 / 110 / 130 / 60 / 95 / 65

Abilities: Corrosion / Poison Heal (HA)

Moves: Gunk Shot / Crunch / Dig / Venom Drench / Toxic / Iron Tail / Fire Fang / Venom Terrain*

* Creates Venom Terrain. All grounded Pokémon who switch in receive the Poison status, including Steel and Poison types. Boosts the power of Poison moves.

Boboiga

Fast Pokemon

Psychic | Ghost
Base stats: 570
Stat spread: Really high Spe (~180), high HP (~150), below average Atk & Sp.Atk (50~60), average Def & Sp.Def (80~90)
Appearance: Resembles a brown tree snake, known to be an invasive species.

Abilities:
Beast Boost

Notable & flavor moves:
Psychic
Psyshock
Zen Headbutt
Shadow Sneak
Shadow Ball
Shadow Claw
Night Shade
Ominous Wind
Spirit Shackle
Explosion

Curse
Reflect
Light Screen
Substitute
Will-o-Wisp
Destiny Bond
Baton Pass
Mean Look
Power Trick

Role:
Support. A rather strange Pokemon. Its has one of the highest base speed, outstanding HP, but lackluster offense stats, and average defenses. However, this gives it an interesting niche as a support Pokemon, specially when it has access Baton Pass to pass big Substitutes and Beast Boosts.

Flutterbon

Type: Bug/Fairy

Ability: Cute Charm/Pixilate (Barbed Grab- an opponent that makes contact with the Pokémon takes damage equal to 1/4 the damage they dealt, and the Pokémon heals for half that recoil)

Height: 2'5" / 73.6 cm

Weight: 40 lbs /18.14 kg

Stats: 534 total

HP: 102

ATK: 87

DEF: 50

Sp. A: 105

Sp. D: 70

SPD: 130

Dex entry:

The long, elegant ribbon-like extensions trailing from this Pokémon's body are very similar in construction to spider silk. While beautiful, young trainers and researchers alike are advised not to touch them- these are used in the capture of food, and are covered in nigh-microscopic barbs to hang on to prey.

The very diverse moveset this Pokemon has would almost convince you that this thing is very versatile in the way it functions . . . until you look at its stats and get very, very confused. Okay, as a Bug/Fairy mixed attacker it has some options, and it's decently fast! The problem is that its actual damage output is pretty lackluster outside of using Pixilate, and its most noteworthy trait is that actually pretty decent speed. This shunts it into a Baton Passer role that it's actually surprisingly good at, with Quiver Dance, Geomancy, Silver Wind, Swords Dance, and even Curse. Still, you can try to run it as an attacker of its own if you seriously want to, but you have better bugs and fairies to work with.

Flutterbon actually resembles a monarch butterfly in base design, but with pronounced mandibles and long, pretty ribbons trailing from its body and wings. However, the color and pattern of its wings are randomized by Trainer Card in the wild (each player will only ever see one wing/ribbon color/pattern), but retained through breeding, meaning that you can actually breed for desired colors and patterns by using traded Flutterbon.

Glassjay

Ice jay Pokemon

Ice | Flying
Base stats: 550
Stat spread: High Sp. Atk, Sp.Def (~105), really high Spe (~130)
Appearance: Resembles a jay with feathers made of Ice.

Abilities:
Wonder Skin | Clear Body

Hidden: Sugar Rush. While holding a berry or Honey, the Pokemon restores 1/16 of its Max HP every turn (Leftovers effect), also the Pokemon Speed is increased by 50%.

Notable & flavor moves:
Blizzard

Ice Beam

Freeze Dry

Ice Shard

Hurricane

Pluck

Elegant Elegy (Flying-type version of Ice Beam/Thunderbolt/Flamethrower)
Type: Flying

Category: Special

Damage: 90
PP: 15
Effect: Sound-based move. 10% chance of causing sleep.

Wing Dance (Signature move, Flying-type version of Fiery Dance)

Type: Flying

Category: Special

Damage: 80
PP: 10
Effect: 50% chance of raising the user's Speed by one stage.

U-Turn

Draining Kiss

Flash Cannon

Roost

Defog

Quiver Dance

Swords Dance

Tailwind

Agility

Haze

Hail

Mirror Move

Role:

Special sweeper. Basically an Ice/Flying version of Volcarona, since they both have a high Sp. Atk and Speed, access to Quiver Dance, and a x4 weakness to Rock, which means 50% damage from Stealth Rock. Although it does have access to more support moves than Volcarona with Haze, Tailwind, etc. it loses offensive power since its signature move, Wing Dance, boosts Speed unlike its opposite Fiery Dance. Also it's missing access to Giga Drain, which otherwise would deal with defending Rock-types while providing recovery through the drain, although it can learn Draining Kiss and Sparkling Aria to make up for it.

Also it introduces a Flying version of Ice Beam, etc. which would be relatively spreadable as a TM. Moreover, the signature move is compatible with the Dancer ability, giving Oricorio a STAB move to copy and boost its Speed.

Next:

Pokemon with a neuron theme

It should be able to learn a non-HM/TM move that could be a decent-to-good option, but can access it only because of flavor (e.g. Mimikyu can learn Wood Hammer only because of its tail, otherwise it wouldn't fit in its theme and movepool, also the move has a good base Atk and a different type to actually be considered as an option, at the very least for coverage).

Noifeder (Noir = black in french, feder = feather in german)
Night wing Pokemon
Dark | Flying
Base stats: 535
Stat spread: Really high Atk (~120) and Spe (~130)
Appearance: Like a nightjar, with black feathers and coloration, and some sort of blade themed, like blades in its talons.

Abilities:
Intimidate
Sharp Edge: Increases the power of slashing and claw moves by 30%. E.g. Slash, Night Slash, Leaf Blade, Psycho Cut, Cross Poison, X-Scissor, Cut, Fury Cutter, Shadow Claw, Dragon Claw, Crush Claw, Razor Leaf, Magical Leaf, Aerial Ace, Sacred Sword, Secret Sword, Razor Shell, Water Shuriken, Fury Swipes, Scratch.
Hidden: Tinted Lens

Notable & flavor moves:
Brave Bird
Acrobatics
Hurricane
Pluck
Aerial Ace
Drill Peck
Sucker Punch
Knock Off
Night Slash
Pursuit
Foul Play
Fling
Feint Attack

U-Turn
Shadow Claw
Psycho Cut
X-Scissor
Cross Poison
Sacred Sword
Leaf Blade
Steel Wing

Roost
Defog
Swords Dance
Agility
Mirror Move
Taunt
Tailwind
Parting Shot
Switcheroo
Feather Dance

Role:
Physical Sweeper. In a way it's a more specialized Honchkrow with higher Speed for better chances of standing in higher Smogon tiers, ideally OU. Like Staraptor and Honchkrow, it has access to a Fight move to fend off Steel Types, in its case Sacred Sword, which is the boosted by the introduced ability to a dangerous base power of 117, while Night Slash reaches a decent 91 before STAB. Also its blade theme gives access to other slashing moves for coverage and possibly counter specific Pokemon. Then, like Staraptor, it has access to Intimidate if one desires to play this Pokemon defensively. Also this Ability can combo nicely with the narrowly-distributed Parting Shot. Other options and strategies are available like U-Turn, supporting with Defog, Tailwind, Switcheroo, Knock Off, Taunt, as well as a Fling + Acrobatics combo, both of which benefit from STAB.

20 lb

Steel / Flying

Magic Bounce / Storywriter

50 / 50 / 120 / 95 / 120 / 100 (BST 535)

Design: Looks like a big storybook with abstract designs around its edges. Also has wings on its back.

Movepool (notable):

- Instruct (well, some books are instruction manuals and stuff, right?)

- Thunder Wave

- Mean Look

- Hypnosis (falling asleep)

- Flash Cannon

- Charge Beam

- Air Slash

- Feather Dance

- Tearful Look (some people cry after reading a good book)

Storywriter: Copy of Dancer, except for everything else.

IDK, you'd probably want to use this mostly for status 'mon stuff (though Klefki technically is better at doing that). With the ability factored in, it's a hit or miss on what you can use. Or Magic Bounce to sheet over Klefki's Prankster stuff.

Mostly a defensive 'mon.
