[spoiler=Yuuji Sakata]

Name: Yuuji Sakata

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Occupation: Student, (Semi) Professional Duelist, Parkour enthusiast

[spoiler=Appearance]PDx_Cld_D.png

Yuuji is tall, standing at 6 feet and one inch. Though he's built lean, he's in peak physical shape thanks to the large amounts of regular exercise he gets, and the extra muscle this affords him makes Yuuji look a bit bulkier than he otherwise would. In what has become an increasingly common occurrence in Domino's youth over the past few years, Yuuji was born with an odd, unnatural hair color. In his case: an odd shade of muted blue-green. Still, one can't deny that he wears it well, usually a bit messy and kind of long, and always with his favorite, button laden headband. His eyes are a lovely shade of bright blue.

When not in his Domino High uniform (which hasn't changed since the 1990's) Yuuji prefers to wear casual, baggy clothing that reflects his punk style. Usually, this means graphic tees (especially those from rock bands he likes), jeans, light jackets/button up shirts, and skate shoes, in addition to his headphones, skateboard, and button adorned messenger bag, in which he carries his duel disk and deck. In short, he dresses well, and between that and his looks, he's earned himself a few admirers, both in school, and more recently on the pro circuit. Yuuji looks very good in a tuxedo as well, though he's decidedly much less comfortable dressed up for the gala than he would be on the street.

[spoiler=Personality]Yuuji's something of a loner; much more comfortable out on the street skateboarding or running than he is in a social setting. Saying he's antisocial isn't quite accurate, but he definitely isn't a people person. He's quiet and a bit rough around the edges, and is frequently short and occasionally quite blunt when he talks to other people. This often gives the impression that Yuuji is aloof or judgemental. While to an extent both can be true, Yuuji is actually much more open minded than he appears to be. He's good at heart, and can, when he chooses to, be a very warm and kind young man. He's incredibly tolerant of others (so long as they aren't malicious or hostile), and when it comes to his family and friends, Yuuji is both loyal and devoted. All in all, Yuuji isn't a bad guy, he's just introverted and usually keeps his distance from other people.

Though he is an extremely poor student, Yuuji is in fact very intelligent. He's wise beyond his years, incredibly street smart, and has a knack for reading people. This extends to his dueling as well, where Yuuji is often able to accurately predict his opponent's strategies, make convincing bluffs, and generally outwit players who, more often than not, are using more powerful cards than his own.

Yuuji's not without his faults though. He is, in no uncertain terms, selfish. He sometimes skips school, despite his ailing mother and older brother's protestations, and can often be inconsiderate or ignorant of others' feelings (even though he usually means well). Yuuji is also a delinquent. He has numerous trespassing charges on his record (all of which result from his freerunning excursions), and has done a few stints in juvenile detention for these as well as fistfights involving some of Domino's street gangs.

When push comes to shove though, Yuuji can almost always be counted on to do the right thing, even if he'd much rather just be left to his own devices most of the time.

[spoiler=Biography]The youngest of two brothers, Yuuji comes from a poor family living in one of Domino city's seedier neighborhoods. His early childhood was fairly normal, and most people remember Yuuji as a quiet, sensitive child. When he was 12 though, Yuuji's father, a salesman, died in an auto accident. His mother, who's health had been failing ever since she miscarried the Sakatas' third child, was unable to work, and so in order to support the family, Yuuji's elder brother Kazuya dropped out of high school and found work as a chef.

Unsurprisingly, Yuuji took these events very hard, and consequently he became more withdrawn and combative as he entered puberty. It was around this time as well that Yuuji developed his interest in parkour and freerunning. Both the philosophy and the activity appealed to him, since it allowed him to take his mind off of his problems, and it gave him the opportunity to, for a short time at least, be free, and not beholden to anyone. Of course this was also the beginning of Yuuji's problems with authority, and as he got older he more and more routinely found himself in trouble, be it due to tresspassing or the occasional run-in with thugs on the street.

The summer after his sophmore year however, would prove to be something of a turning point in Yuuji's life. During a stint in juvenile detention (ironically for being caught trespassing on Kaibacorp property) Yuuji was introduced to Duel Monsters by his cellmate: an older boy named Ichiro Kurosawa. Yuuji picked the game up very quickly, and the two boys bonded over their games using Ichrio's smuggled-in decks. When Yuuji got out, he paid a visit to the Muto Game Store on Ichiro's recommendation.

As luck would have it, the owner, a kindly old man who introduced himself as Solomon, was an experienced Duel Monsters player himself. Business was slow that day, and so, after Yuuji mentioned Ichiro (who it turned out was not only a frequent customer, but also a regular winner of the store's weekly tournaments), Solomon challenged Yuuji to a duel. Yuuji, somewhat embarrassed, explained that he didn't have a deck, or indeed any cards of his own. This didn't dissuade Solomon though, who produced a pair of rental decks from behind the counter.

"One duel" quickly turned into a full-on match. As they played, Solomon explained the history of the game, its Egyptian origins, and the somewhat abridged story of how his grandson, Yugi, had once, and then twice, become the game's world champion. In return, Yuuji more formally introduced himself, and was uncharacteristically forthcoming, both about his criminal record and his passion for parkour. Much to his surprise, the old man was accepting of both, explaining that he empathized, as he himself was an adventurous, somewhat rebellious youth who had run into his own troubles with gambling. The two bonded some, and by the end of their match (which Yuuji narrowly lost), Yuuji was eager to formally enter the Duel Monsters community. Impressed, and as thanks for entertaining him, Solomon gave Yuuji a gift: Any single card he wanted, free of charge, from the Game Store's singles binders. The card Yuuji chose as his first was Odd-Eyes Dragon: a card that, according to the old man, fit him perfectly. He explained that there was a bit of lore behind dragons with "-Eyes" in their names; that each one brought out certain traits in the duelists that used them. Red-Eyes, the Black Dragon, brought out its master's hidden potential, Solomon's own Blue-Eyes, the white dragon, bestowed great power on its owner, and Odd-Eyes, the red dragon, gave its owner determination and a drive to succeed.

Whether Odd-Eyes actually had an effect on Yuuji, or he simply took the superstition to heart, he spent the next year pouring his efforts into his dueling. He built a deck around Odd-Eyes, saved up to buy a duel disk, and spent his free time attending duel monsters events, improving his skills, and playing in tournaments at the game store. The hard work eventually paid off, and Yuuji found himself scouted for events on the Duel Monsters pro circuit. In the three months or so since he's become a professional duelist, he's made something of a name for himself, using his freerunning skills to make a spectacle of his duels (dodging monster attacks, making moves from atop Odd-eyes dragon's hologram, etc), and pulling off several come-from-behind wins. Notably, Yuuji has made a point of using whatever income he gains from dueling to help with his family's expenses, having liquidated nearly every promotional card and prize money check he's earned thus far to help with his mother's medical bills. Most recently, he received an invitation to Kaibacorp's Archeological Gala. Yuuji was originally not going to attend, but his mother and brother convinced him to go, and helped him (begrudgingly) rent a tuxedo for the occasion.

[spoiler=Deck] Odd-Eyes Apex

Based around his ace monster, Yuuji's deck is a somewhat eclectic mix of generic, useful cards and unorthodox ones. On the surface, it resembles a chaos deck, containing many LIGHT and DARK monsters and making use of the graveyard and banishing to summon monsters and give the deck speed. Where it differs from these decks though is Yuuji's inclusion of several union monsters, specifically a small but powerful archetype of mid-level beasts and dinosaurs known as Apex Arsenal. As well, he's included some odd choices that represent his affinity for the darkly comic or the strange, such as Zombyra the Dark, Rainbow Kuriboh, and Mystic Tomato. Though all of the aforementioned cards seem to be (and often are) sub-par choices made due to Yuuji's low income, they work surprisingly well in his deck, and lend themselves to his deceptive playing style. The main attraction though, is Odd-Eyes dragon: Yuuji's favorite (and first) card. He summons it as often as possible, and many of his strategies revolve around powering it up to make the most use out of its burn damage effect.

  • Yuuji can be somewhat lecherous, and has both a wandering eye and a crude sense of humor.

[spoiler=Sachi]

Name: Sachi Soromiya

Gender: Female

Age: 16

Occupation: Student

Appearance: Standing at five feet and four inches, Sachi is a middling-sized girl with brown hair and green eyes. Her skin is very pale, and tends to sunburn very easily. She wears a pair of mismatched earrings, one blue and one red, and located in different places on her ears. She has a curvy figure, and she almost always has an air of dishevelment about her. Her hair is often only barely brushed, and her clothes are often in a state of disrepair, not because she can't afford nicer ones, but because she simply prefers her more comfortable, older ones. She most often can be seen wearing a thick blue jacket-hoodie, which is so large on her that it falls off her shoulders constantly. Beyond that she wears pleated skirts, often in darker colors, with lighter-colored casual shirts up above. She also has a Duel Disk that is Kaibacorp's latest model, using the neural link to produce Solid Vision holograms, though hers does not enable virtual cards or have the virtual blade. It is in black and purple as opposed to black and blue.

For the purposes of the gala, Sachi has procured a very simple dark purple dress that exposes her shoulders, but is otherwise very modest.

[spoiler=Appearance]

gBccLi6.png

[spoiler=Duel Disk]

Kaiba%27s_New_Duel_Disk.png

Note: Unlike Kaiba's model, Sachi's does not contain the virtual blade, and uses physical cards. The glow is also purple instead of blue.

Personality: Brilliant but lazy, Sachi is a very scatterbrained sort of person. Often full of energy and not fully processing the world around her, Sachi is usually a bit of a handful. Quick to act without really giving it any thought, she often makes poor decisions that become very evident very quickly. This is also paired with a certain naivete that makes her fairly gullible and prone to believing lies. Despite her terrible judgement, Sachi is very intelligent, having top grades in Math and History at her school, though Science gives her a headache, and she's bad with technology in general, constantly having issues interpreting her Duel Disk's readouts that are displayed over her eye. She also is incredibly knowledgeable about ancient Sumerian culture and can mentally do complex math very quickly. She is incredibly smart and forward-thinking when she actually takes time to think things through, as little as that occurs. This makes her a very good duelist, as her deck works best when planning several steps ahead.

Very kind and humble, Sachi always tries to do her best for the people she cares about. She has a determined go-getter attitude, always trying to stay optimistic. She is very accepting of other people, and comforting a person in need is one of the few times where her brain will actually slow down and adjust to the gravity of the situation around her naturally. Sachi takes great pride in being helpful, and wants to be as helpful to as many people as she can, especially her sick father. However she very quickly can buckle under pressure when she doesn't have help on important tasks.

Biography: Sachi is an only child living with a single father, Soichiro Soromiya. Her mother died in hospital after giving birth to Sachi. Her father has nonetheless never let this affect how he sees Sachi, and has always raised her with loving care. Sachi grew up always having a large exposure to ancient history, her father being an anthropologist. He especially well-learned in the cultures of Ancient Egypt and Sumeria, though Sachi always gravitated towards the Sumerians. Sachi has always had good grades in school for the most part, and has stayed out of trouble as well, though she certainly has gained a reputation of being scatter-brained. She has also gained a reputation among her classmates as a good duelist, taking naturally to the game, her skills in math being a key factor. Sachi hasn't participated in any tournaments or anything similar, though it is a very enthusiastically-pursued hobby of hers.

Sachi lived a relatively normal life for a girl without a mother, though she always wishes she could have met her. She and her father have always gotten along swimmingly, but that changed when he was employed by Kaibacorp's histories division when Sachi was fourteen. He worked longer hours, was away from home constantly, and always seemed to be in a bad mood that came from working under an impatient Seto Kaiba. He would sometimes snap a bit and yell at her, though he was always quick to apologize when he calmed down. Nevertheless, Sachi's relationship with her father was changed from that point on, not as relaxed, not as happy, and she couldn't help feeling like Kaibacorp was to blame.

The real trouble began when her father went away to Egypt for work for several months and came back a changed man. Sachi's father had been the one tasked with examining the Millennium Tome when it was excavated, and it did something to his mind. He's been distant and completely not himself, almost as if his soul had been sucked out of his body, unable to even properly take care of himself. In the months since the Tome has been excavated, Sachi has been taking care of her father, desperately trying to figure out what was wrong with him. She has discerened from his disjointed ramblings that it has something to do with a book, and when she received the invitation to the Gala (her father also receiving one but being in no fit state to attend), she realized it had to be the Millennium Tome. She is determined to speak with the highest-ranking person there, Seto himself if she has to, to try and figure out what is wrong with her father.

Deck: Sachi uses a Fortune Lady deck, containing monsters that have their attacking capabilities based off of their Levels, which increase each turn. Sachi is perfectly suited to play this deck over many other skilled duelists, purely because of all the mental math playing it requires. Sachi has gained victories purely because of her opponents failing to calculate enough steps ahead and being overwhelmed by sheer attack power. Her strategy is also supplemented by various other Spellcaster monsters, helmed by the most powerful cards she owns, the Sorcerer of Dark Magic.

Still need to get her Deck made, but beside that my app is basically done.

[spoiler=Violet (WIP)]Name: Violet

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Occupation: Agent of the Institution (Institution explained in Bio)

[spoiler=Appearance]7dc8d55993f8afbe8d9f297ca8ce4ebc--gothic

Standing at 5’ 4”, Violet has a slim body. Her light purple hair is always cut short as she prefers it that way. Originally her eyes were light purple, but a side effect from one of the Institution’s drugs made them a cyan color. Her skin is a slight bit pale from the lack of sun she received from living most of her life in the Institution. She likes to wear comfortable clothing and doesn’t worry about style. Because of this, she’ll usually wear a t-shirt and shorts.

[spoiler=Personality]Violet is emotionless. She wasn’t always like this. She used to be a regular, happy girl before the Institution put her in their program. After what had happened to her there, she has dulled her emotions away. The most show of emotion you could get from Violet is a slight smile or a small frown. When it comes to conversation, Violet doesn’t like to talk a lot. Mainly, she’ll just listen to what the person has to say and then respond some sort of blunt response. She usually never starts a conversation unless she wants to know something.

The reason why Violet is such a good duelist and can predict her opponent’s moves is because she observes everything, then stores the information she finds in the empty space where her emotions used to be. Her emotionless eyes are always scanning around collecting any piece of information they can see, no matter how small it is. The reason for her precise observations is because of a drug used on her to “make her into a better duelist.”, as the Institution would say.

[spoiler=Bio]Hidden deep in Domino City is a place known simply as the Institution. It was created secretly by the government for one purpose. To create the ultimate duelist. For you see, the popularity of duel monsters had been high since the very beginning. So the government thought that it would be best for them to have the best duelists out there. Not wanting to waste money hiring top duelists, they decided to make the duelists they needed. Taking 30 handpicked orphans, the forced them to live in the Institution and duel each other. Each orphan was given a single and simple first name. For a young girl with light purple hair, her name was Violet.

Violet learned quickly how the Institution worked. Each week, the orphans would duel each other. The winners of these duels would live the week in special accommodations and be allowed to have whatever they wanted, except for freedom. The losers of these duels would live in prison-like rooms and be experimented on as a way to ‘help improve their dueling skills’, as the headmaster of the Institution put it. The experiments were always painful and either involved some kind of injection or added improvement to the person’s body. Violet knew this because she had lost a few times. Like all the other orphans, she was scared whenever she dueled, afraid that she would lose and have to undergo another experiment. But after a while, Violet realized why she lost duels. It was because she let her emotions get the best of her. So she rejected her emotions and dulled them to a minimum. With her emotions dulled away, she was able she observe her duels better, predict her opponent’s moves, and find a way to counter them. From then on, she won duel after duel and rose up to the top, not caring or worrying about what would happen to the losers. Now that she was at the top, she wasn’t gonna let her emotions drag her back down.

After a few years, the Institution allowed its top duelists to go out into the real world on “Missions”. Most of these missions required them to either defeat a certain duelist or win a duel tournament. Violet was the best at these missions as she obeyed orders without question and always completed the mission. By the age of 19, Violet was assigned a unique mission with another Institution orphan. The mission required both of them to enter the ICCA Gala via an invitation that the Institution had acquired. Once inside they would then observe, enjoy themselves, and if it ever came to chance, steal one of the Millennium Items.

[spoiler=Deck]Coming Soon

Misc:

-knows 12 different languages, including German, Russian, Japanese, and Italian.

-Has a great liking for cake.

I'm currently in the process of making a second app.

Denied. The basis of this character is an absurd cliché that won’t work. I want normal people with normal lives: Not a superhuman raised by the Men in Black with duel disks.

If there's a need for antagonissts, floating the idea for a (Rare Hunter?) Vendread player.

Would also be cute to see that Exodia playing-rare hunter that stole joey's red-eyes make a reappearance using the new exodia support, come to think of it.

That might be interesting. I'll consider it.

Also, feel free to make a Rare Hunter. If you need details just PM me.

[spoiler=Bunder]
Name: Bunder Breckenridge - nicknamed Bun.
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Occupation: Virtual Reality Engineer in KC - (Semi) Pro Duelist
[spoiler=Appearance]

fEfUx8Z.png

Mixed raced: Half Japanese Half Scottish. Standing at 5ft 11in and weighing 195 pounds. Bunder has a fit body: A muscled chest, broad shoulders, and a fair facial expression. Bunder has a shaggy short hair, originally a redhead, and a chin strap beard. He prefers to dye his hair garnet red. He has Dark brown eyes, and a defined facial structure with strong jaws.
In casual attire, Bunder prefers light clothing: He wears T Shirts, usually he rolled up the sleeves if they have any, sport shorts, and sometimes he put a zip-up hoodie.
At work, as an engineer in the KC Virtual Reality Department, he wears a dark color dress shirt (usually black), formal pants, under his white coat. When the weather i cold, he also wears a jacket.
For the gala, he decided to wear a white dress shirt with a tie and a black trench coat

[spoiler=Personality]
Bunder is a friendly, and a happy all around person. He has a reputation of being passionate and honest with good sense of humor. He is loyal to his family, and he is also noted to have a kind heart and a tendency to always help his comrades and friends, and may even take extra burdens for their sake.
To most his work comrades, he appears to be an energetic, freethinker employee with a very unique way of conducting himself and his work. But he wasn't always like this: He used to had a very resented heart and insecure personality when he first joined KC Virtual Reality Department. He was terrified by the responsibility he had and overwhelmed by the hard work of his work comrades. But when he designed his first monster VR property successfully, it droves him to forget most of his resentment and insecurity, as well as taking an outside the box approach to VR researches. Bunder is a one of KC brightest minds, with his potential and his department teamwork, they expanded VR technology from the entertainment industry to education and other services.

However, Bunder's energetic and cheerful attitude is only half of his personality, as he actually harbors a dark attitude under his usual self: As the stress of work or life becomes much more severe, Bunder less frequently shows his lighthearted nature, being often blunt and serious. It could get worse, he might show a angry side, flipping from calm and collected to rage filled and threatening. However, this extreme change in personality is usually brief as he quickly calms down himself, and is only seen under highly urgent stressed situations.

[spoiler=Biography]

Post Codex of Shadows

Bunder was born in a modest family in Scotland, the only child of a Scottish father and a Japanese mother, hence why he can speak both English and Japanese fluently. Right beneath the apartment where they live, Bunder's family owned a small coffee shop whom incomes were enough for them to make a living and to take care of Bunder's expenses, but it was tiring them.
Bunder was an obedient child, he loved and respected his parents, and was an excellent and brilliant student. His good behavior and sense of humor was enough to make him lovable among his neighbors and friends. From a very young age, Bunder was able to sense and understand how his family struggled to make him feel "financially" secure. So he swore to study hard and get a fine paid job to change his parents' tiring life.
Bunder finally attended High School, aiming to study Informatiques in college. All what he cared for was his family's name and pride. His solely motivations was to make his parents' life better and to make them proud of him. Through his hard work, he was one of the top students of his high school, and was granted to study in a great university if he kept it up till graduation year.

However, in a turn of events, Bunder discovered Duel Monster Trading Card Game. It started as a hobby, and grew inside him till it possessed him entirely. He started skipping classes to play Duel Monsters at game stores, he even saved money from his allowances to buy a Duel Disk. His parents were slightly worried about his new behavior and the new friends he had. But they were trusting him so they didn't bother asking. Eventually, he absented most of spring semester to attend a Tournament, which he won and was gave a rare card as a price, but it costed him dearly. He passed the finales, but his grades were terribly low, hence why he was rejected from almost all universities he ever dreamed attending.

His parents were quite upset, but they didn't have the heart to scold him, they comforted him instead: Bunder was devastated because he betrayed his parents' trust and was easily lured by his pleasures. He blamed his friends that cheered his "dueling career", he even blamed the card game itself. He lived in an internal conflict and developed anger issues. At last, after weeks of depression, he realized that the only one to blame was himself. He accepted the reality that he failed his parents, and most importantly, failed himself for not accomplishing his dream. So he decided to move on.

5 years have passed. Bunder got a master degree in informatique-engineering from a night school he attended. Meanwhile finding a proper job, he was helping his parents in the coffee shop. But fate has other plans to Bunder: Things changed completely to the best; his mom showed him an advertisement: KC, a japanese mega gaming industry that is related the Duel Monsters game, the game that he ruined his life for, was holding a competitive exam, in which they would test the candidates informatique oriented Virtual Reality knowledge. The top 10s are going to get recruited and work for KC. Bunder, excited almost like never, was improving upon his knowledge and informations about Virtual Reality. He felt he has a second chance to redeem his mistake. The time has come, so he traveled to Japan to pass the competitive exam. He was welcomed warmly by his mother's family.

AND HE DID IT. From 346 candidates, he was ranked 7th and sign a contract with KC as a Virtual Reality Engineer. Now he finally achieved his dream.

2 years later - Codex of Shadows

In a creepy turn of events, since the last infamous excavation, the archaeologists that were in charge of it are no longer themselves: Some are getting psychological treatments, some are having anger crisis, some have severe insomnia, hallucinations, etc ... Things got even more complicated: Lately, the VR system is showing abnormalities, sometimes the monsters' hologram stop functioning, showing signs of "disobedience?" ... Bunder and his comrades got really stressed out trying to figure out a solution to this anathema.

On another note: Bunder got invited to this year's ICCA Gala. He decided to go, since he really needed a rest from all this stress, so this might help him ... or so he thought?

[spoiler=Deck]Back in his early golden days of his dueling career, Bunder was using a Deck that is focused on Fairy monsters. Years after his 'mistake' he decided to give this game another chance, but just as a leisure. Eventually, after he cope up with the new changes the game has through these years, he ended up adapting his old deck to be updated with the current meta.
Deck Description: Bunder's deck consists mainly of Vanilla beatstick OTKs, using his Spells/Traps lineup to bring them out and protect them to complete the OTK-procedure. He also has side-engines: A fusion boss and an effect monster that synergies with his deck very well.[spoiler=Customs][spoiler=Vanillas]

Denied. The basis of this character is an absurd cliché that won’t work. I want normal people with normal lives: Not a superhuman raised by the Men in Black with duel disks.

Sorry, but I like to make unique characters. I don't even think I could make a "normal person with a normal life", as you say. But I do agree with you that my character was over the top, so I scraped my app. I've made a new app and, hopefully, you will accept my unique character when I get her deck complete.

[spoiler=Alice]Yugioh Codex of Shadows APP

Name: Alice Hilford

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Occupation: Pro Duelist, Writer

[spoiler=Appearance]eS4M7tkV_400x400.jpg

Standing at 5’ 5”, Alice is a white American with a slim, slightly curvy body. Surprising, considering that she usaully eats an entire cake each week. She has light blue eyes and white skin that's slightly tanned. As for clothing, Alice likes to wear anything she finds comfortable. This can include a blouse, t-shirt, shorts, tennis shoes, flip flops, and when it’s cold, the occasional scarf. She almost always carries a purse, where she stores her pen and notebook, along with other important items.

Her original hair color is a dull blonde, but started dying her hair every time she got bored of it. For the Gala, she will wear a custom made, shoulder-less white dress that drops down to her knees while her hair will be dyed a bright pink.

[spoiler=Personality]Alice is the happy always-be-positive kind of person. Even when something bad happens, she tries to point out the positive, no matter how small it is. This doesn’t mean she can’t become depressed. If somebody pressures her enough, they can break down her positive attitude, temporarily leaving her a nervous wreck. She’s also the kind of person to never give up, even if the odds are stacked against her.

She always carries around a note book and pen, just in case she ever thinks up something that she can put in her stories. Some characters from her stories were inspired or based on people she meet in real life. She’s almost always thinking about dueling and writing, which has its pros and cons. While it means that she can do well in both careers, she has a hard time concentrating on other things.

[spoiler=Bio] From the beginning, Alice was anything but normal. Which made sense considering that her parents were the same way. Her dad was a famous chef, rock climber, and movie director, while her mother was an expert model, boxer, and actress. At the same time, they were somehow able to have family time with their daughter. Because of them, Alice dedicated herself to be unique. It started with her hair as she began to dye it different colors. Her personality followed next; becoming a colorful combination of happy and goofy. She hoped her personality would make people like her more, but sadly, it did not get the desired effect. People started either staring at her with a look or acting as if they never saw her at all. At school, other kids started to ignore her and called her a “freak” or “weirdo”. That was just the start of it. A group of bullies began to pick on her each day until they reduced her to tears.

The constant bulling got to Alice deeply and she fell into a slight depression. Her positive personality faded away as a depressed one formed in its’ place. She began to wear hoodies to hide her dyed hair and never looked anybody in the eye. While this made the bullies back off, it worried Alice’s parents. They noticed their daughter’s sudden change in personality and they didn’t like it. After confronting Alice and finding out about the bulling, they pulled her out of public school and put her into private tutoring and consoling. It took a few weeks, but Alice got over her depression and her happy/goofy personality returned.  While it wasn’t as energetic as before, Alice’s parents were still

It was around this time that she fell in love with two things; writing and dueling. During her depression she read a lot of books and watched a lot of duels to pass the time. She enjoyed the books and duels so much that she wanted to pursue both professionally. She started by dueling other kids in her neighborhood and writing short stories. When she felt confident in both, she took a step forward and began to enter in duel tournaments and write longer stories. In the duel tournaments, she usually didn’t even win the first duel and with writing, she had trouble thinking of what to write and would get stressed out. But she didn’t give up. Her parents had told her to never to never give up on her dreams, so she kept to them. Every time she lost a duel, she would think of why she lost and find a way to not let that happen again. If she didn’t know what to write, she would go on long walks or visit the town to help herself think. Over time, she improved in both.

In duel tournaments, she can now last to the semifinals and finals and sometimes even win, while in writing, she finally completed a book (an action/adventure fiction about a knight in training) and had it published. While the book wasn’t popular at first (well it could have been with one word from her parents, but Alice had strictly told her parents not to mention her book to anybody), it slowly gained popularity along with her dueling popularity. People loved her energetic and positive attitude, and surprisingly enough for Alice, they liked her dyed hair. Along with having a growing group of fans, loads of people began to ask her to write more books and even make a sequel to her first one.

Now, happier than ever and almost finished with two more books, she’s been invited to the ICCA Gala. With happiness and excitement, she accepted the invitation for two reasons.

1: Because it was a prestigious and famous event and only a dummy would reject an invitation, and 2: She would like to find new friends and hopefully inspiration for another story.

[spoiler=Deck]Fairy Tale: A group of LIGHT Level 4, Spellcaster-Type monsters that rely on Magic Counters to activate one of their effects. They all share the same ability to gain Magic Counters by either having allies summoned or by having Fairy Tale spells and traps activated. Each Fairy Tale monster has Fusion versions which, when summoned, gain special Counters that allow them to activate their powerful effects.

Misc: -During Halloween she will cosplay as the card, ‘Fairy Tale – Alice’. She will do this by cutting her hair short, dying it black, and wearing a custom costume she had made.

-She has a great liking for cake.

"I'm just here for the food."

Name: Cadence Lecter

Gender: Female

Age: 16

Occupation: Student, Aspiring Anthropologist, Eating Contest Competitor

[spoiler=Appearance]TUxgCtJ.jpg
Height: 4'9"
Weight: 68 pounds

Cadence is a small girl with a wiry frame. Her skinny limbs and long fingers contribute well to a body type that would very well allow her to go out as a skeleton for Halloween, but be it her raw energy or near-perpetual smile, it's generally pretty clear that Cadence is a perfectly healthy girl. She keeps her dark hair cut short for convenience, and occasionally dyes bits of it purple - her favorite color - if she feels like she's lacking in color. Cadence's hair is naturally an unkempt mess, and getting it relatively straight is the best she can really do to keep it under control.

Cadence is also a girl who's never been particularly concerned about fashion. If it covers her body, she'll wear it. She does seem to have a fondness for checkered accessories, such as her scarf, and animal prints. Suits and such were never her style, but her parents strongly insisted she dress up formally for the upcoming ICCA Gala. She has reluctantly agreed to wear a simple checkered dress and black heels. Cadence has never worn heels before.

[spoiler=Personality]Cadence is a girl who lives at her own tempo. Be it a duel, conversation, or a more menial task, Cadence is somebody who will grab the pace of life by the horns and steer it in her direction. This can make keeping a pin on her difficult, as her train of thought can make sudden and sharp turns, a fair few decisions she'll make won't really have much of a reason behind them, and she's very much the type who if she suddenly wonders what's behind that DO NOT ENTER sign, she's going back there, rules be damned. The world is a big place, and Cadence not only acknowledges that fact, but appropriately aims to experience as much of it as she possibly can, and savor every second of it. As tough as it may be to guess her next move, one thing that can easily be predicted about Cadence is that whatever she does, she'll do it with a big smile on her face. And she'll encourage others to smile too! Life is meant to be enjoyed, as Cadence sees it, and spreading the good word of enjoying one's life that in the grand scheme of things is comically brief is something of a personal goal for her.

Cadence's favorite part of life, besides people, is the food. All the food. Her wiry frame belies her gluttonous nature - due in part to her high activity levels - and Cadence would happily sign up for just about any eating contest just for the food, as well as for the good vibes that comes with winning something if she comes out on top. Getting to meet people who feel the same way about food as she does is also a huge plus. Cadence is a particularly social girl, glad to speak with just about any type of person and learn anything she can from them, especially in regards to the worldviews and beliefs of others. Discussing "big picture" topics like that is a surefire way to hook Cadence into a conversation, since although she can have trouble keeping herself focused on one thing, Cadence's mind is one strongly attracted toward such subjects.

Between her sheer optimism, inability to focus on one task, and whimsical nature, one may think Cadence isn't a very smart girl. They'd be wrong. While she lacks the focus required for the puzzle-solving skills one might associate with smarts, Cadence is a very intelligent girl, with a surprising attention to detail, memory span, and thirst for knowledge. If she detects that there's something she can learn from someone, expect a long conversation. The world has more knowledge spread out across it than any one person could imagine, and Cadence wants to learn as much of it as possible. She actually dreams of being an anthropologist so that she can see the world, experience many different cultures, and more. Basically, so she can get paid to do the things she loves most.

No person is perfect, however, and Cadence is no exception. She has a tendency to act without considering how others may feel about her actions, for one, as her own fun takes priority over that of everyone else. She's also particularly stubborn. If she wants to do something, she's doing something, and will provide any number of reasons that she won't be stopped by some trivial thing like late hours, bad weather, or the collapse of civilization as we know it. She also doesn't make any effort to talk people out of a bad decision, unless she finds the consequences especially dire (this generally boils down exclusively to loss of life). What happens in life happens, and Cadence doesn't believe it's her place to interfere with any of it. It's best to enjoy one's own life as she sees it, and if that means sharing the enjoyment with others, all the better.

[spoiler=Biography]Cadence hails from a family of duelists. Her father owns a small shop, her mother is a semi-professional duelist, and Cadence... honestly, she just duels for the love of the game. Which was fine with her parents. The parents of a young Cadence wanted her to succeed at whatever drew her attention and managed to keep it. For a good decade and some change, that thing was dueling, and she became pretty competent with a deck tailored to her playstyle. That thing changed around the time Cadence got into her teen years.

Cadence, simply put, had always been a smart girl, and an extremely active thinker. She knew there was a big world out there, but having a relatively sheltered upbringing, she never really paid it much mind. Eventually, at the finals of a duel tournament, she had a friendly chat with a dueling enthusiast who had come from far away, and left the discussion with some knowledge on foreign customs. She was fascinated that things were different there, and started doing some research. The thing Cadence had never considered was that just as the world was a huge place with so many people and nations, each of those places had a different way of doing things. She was enthralled. Cadence neglected her dueling for a while in favor of studying up on all these interesting stories of places far from home, and eventually longed to visit those places and learn about them firsthand.

Thus began Cadence's interest in anthropology. She looked into it as a career path for a few years, but that's taking a seat on the back burner right now. Her attention right now is on KaibaCorp. Cadence is still pretty sure it was a fluke, but she's been invited to this year's ICCA Gala. Not that she minds. Big fancy KaibaCorp party? There's bound to be stellar catering.

[spoiler=Deck]Cadence uses a Zombie World deck, with an emphasis on turning opposing monsters into Zombie monsters, then using a handful of effects to take advantage of it. The ace card of the deck is Dragonecro Nethersoul Dragon.

[spoiler=Misc]Character Theme: Oingo Boingo - No One Lives Forever
Duel Theme: Jake Kaufman - Hidden By Night
Ace Monster Summoned Theme: DeltaHedron - Vs Necrodeus

Although she loves all walks of life, Cadence has a particular fondness for birds of all forms. She's been on a duck kick lately.

Sorry, but I like to make unique characters. I don't even think I could make a "normal person with a normal life", as you say. But I do agree with you that my character was over the top, so I scraped my app. I've made a new app and, hopefully, you will accept my unique character when I get her deck complete.

[spoiler=Bio]From the beginning, Alice was anything but normal. Which made sense considering that her parents were the same way. Her dad was a famous chef, rock climber, and movie director, while her mother was an expert model, boxer, and actress. At the same time, they were somehow able to have family time with their daughter. Because of them, Alice dedicated herself to be unique. It started with her hair. She didn’t like the dull blonde color it was and had it dyed to an exciting bright blue. But soon she got bored of that color and dyed her hair again. She continued to dye her hair whenever she got bored of its color.

As she grew older, she tried to search for something she enjoyed doing. While learning cooking with her father and boxing with mother was a bit fun, it wasn’t something that she wanted to all the time. By her tweens, Alice fell in love with two things; writing and dueling. She loved them so much that she wanted to do both professionally. So she started writing stories and signing up in duel tournaments. Surprising, she was a natural with both. By the age of 13, she had her first book published and won her second duel tournament. By 14, she had 3 more books published and her first book became a New York Times Bestseller. As for her dueling career, she now had a small following of fans. By age 15, this following of fans grew bigger as Alice was recognized as professional duelist. At the same time, she became popular in the writing department while more of her books became NYT Bestsellers. By 16, she did things differently. Considering her rising popularity in both dueling and writing, she had less and less free time as more time was dedicated to her schoolwork. So to fix this problem, she decided to do both at the same time. It wasn’t easy at first, trying to pay attention to a duel while writing a sentence for her next story, but after a while it became second nature. People were shocked as they watched Alice expertly and quickly switch from dueling to writing in an instant. The most surprising thing from this was that her writing and dueling performance didn’t even seem to be affected. The nickname “The Writing Duelist” quickly stuck with Alice as her popularity grew to an all-time high.

Even with a high popularity, Alice was surprised and excited when she received an invitation to the ICCA Gala. At once she accepted it, hoping to find inspiration for another story while she enjoyed herself at the Gala.

At work, as an engineer in the KC Virtual Reality Department, he wears a dark color dress shirt (usually black), formal pants, under his white coat. When the weather i cold, he also wears a jacket.

For the gala, he decided to wear a white dress shirt with a tie and a black trench coat

[spoiler=Personality]

[spoiler=Biography]

Accepted. Also, where did you get those card artworks from?

Sorry, but I like to make unique characters. I don't even think I could make a "normal person with a normal life", as you say. But I do agree with you that my character was over the top, so I scraped my app. I've made a new app and, hopefully, you will accept my unique character when I get her deck complete.

[spoiler=Alice]Yugioh Codex of Shadows APP

Name: Alice Hilford

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Occupation: Pro Duelist, Writer

[spoiler=Appearance]eS4M7tkV_400x400.jpg

Um, last time I checked, you said the appearance sections was 5 lines minimum and the personality minimum was 4 lines. I count 6 lines with the appearance and 7 with the personality on my app. Also, what the heck do you mean by "archetype child protégé"?

Mainly, I'd like you to tell me what I would have to change to get my app accepted.

YCM is a bit weird when it comes to the character limit for lines. Different browsers have different character limits, so often paragraphs appear to be different lengths for different people.

Viewed from firefox on my computer, Appearance seems to be half a line under the minimum (4 and a half), while Personality appears acceptable.

What Void meant to say (I think) was child prodigy. I.E. Alice is a genius with many talents and few if any flaws. An easy problem to solve- just flesh out her character more and figure out what kind of problems a person like her would have.

You thought it was over?

[spoiler=Adachi Jin]

Name: Jin Adachi

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Occupation: Rare Hunter

Appearance:

[spoiler=Visual]

UdAzLQu.png

Small and unassuming, Jin is only about five foot five, with a thin, slight body. His eyes, which are somewhat large for his face and usually in a bit of a blank stare, are a dull amber, and are always behind a pair of black-framed glasses. His hair is somewhat long and dull purple in color, always looking slightly windblown. He has a heart-shaped, pale face and a shrewd, analytical gaze. He has small hands with long, tapered fingers, and his limbs are in general very skinny. Jin usually wears an open violet jacket with a raised collar, as well as thin shirts of bright colors, as well as regular blue jeans, though all of his clothes seem slightly too big for him. He also has a purple cloak that covers him from head to toe, which he wears whenever he is dueling for the Rare Hunters. His formal gala attire consists of a navy blue tuxedo, with a violet cummerbund. He also wears a pair of pale purple gloves, though these are just in case he has to get up to something shady and needs to avoid leaving fingerprints.

Personality: Quiet and thoughtful, Jin doesn't draw attention to himself. He doesn't like to speak without thinking thoroughly about what he says. A very critical, pragmatic thinker, Jin is in general a calm and collected individual, and doesn't crack easily under pressure. Very intelligent, Jin is often at a bit of a loss when it comes to interacting with people outside of a duel. He is off-putting to a lot of people, given his tendency to be in long, silent periods, especially as he has a tendency to blankly stare when he's thinking about something, which is often. Dueling brings out some of his better qualities, as he is perfectly willing to talk at length about duel strategy, which he is a very skilled analyzer of. Very thorough and dedicated to understanding things to the best of his ability, Jin is a compulsive researcher, and strives to learn his opponent's strategies inside and out before confronting them. He doesn't really enjoy dueling much, though, now seeing it as just something he has to do, rather than something he does because he likes it, though he does secretly wish he liked doing it again.

Other than his closed-off nature, Jin is in general polite to most people, though once his patience is expended he has a habit of writing people off as an annoyance. From there he treats them with a barely cordial disdain. Most of his colleagues in the Rare Hunters fall into this category. Jin in general dislikes most of them, and only remains a member because the Rare Hunters is the only place he has any real status. Though he denies it, Jin has a large ego, and considers himself better than most people until proven otherwise. He stays with the Hunters because he's a powerful duelist, one of the strongest among their numbers, and he's treated with some deference because of it, deference he doesn't get in the competitive world.

Biography: Born and raised in Domino City, Jin was always kind of a nerd growing up. He often could be found reading and ignoring everyone around him. Worried about his lack of blossoming social skills, his parents bought him some Duel Monsters cards, hoping it would get him to talk more with all the kids at his school who played the game. It worked to an extent. Jin took to dueling pretty immediately, though he now spent a lot of his time learning more about the game through theory rather than practice, seeking out more unique cards and not dueling as much as his peers. When he did, though, it was very clear he had learned well. Jin had one of the best win-loss records among his classmates, while being one of the highest-ranked in terms of grades as well. His classmates grew to tolerate him rather than actually like him, not that Jin really cared. Their admiration of his skill was enough.

He took to playing in tournaments, wanting to break into the competitive scene. He achieved success in several tournaments, but the pros never got in touch with him. Jin once asked a pro duelist why that was, and the duelist hazarded a guess that Jin and his dueling weren't"flashy" enough for the pro scene, where force of personality and spirit are almost as important as skill to be successful. Disappointed at this, Jin grew depressed, his performance in tournaments failing. Eventually he ceased competing completely, and resumed casual play, where even when he didn't try he was easily the best duelist in his neighborhood. He grew bored and despondent, but that changed when a Rare Hunter spotted his Mystical Knight of Jackal card, and aimed to take it for himself.

Resenting the man for wanting to win his card, Jin soundly defeated him, earning the attention of the Rare Hunters as a whole when the man was arrested while fleeing the scene. Jin was accosted twice more by Rare Hunters, barely managing a victory both times. Finally he was approached by one of PaniK's right hand men, but not for a duel: With an invitation to join up. He was promised the respect a duelist of his caliber deserved, and Jin took the deal.

Jijn has since been able to upgrade his deck considerably, both through his own endeavors and from the Rare Hunter's own stock of powerful cards, though he has not returned to the pro scene, preferring to duel as a Rare Hunter. He was recently delivered an invitation to the Archeological Gala, an invitation the Rare Hunters had arranged for him to receive. Knowing Kaibacorp events attract many powerful duelists, even without dueling as a main focus, Jin was tasked with scoping out the event for holders of powerful cards. Though his mission is only simple recon, Jin intends to obtain the cards himself, if he can.

Deck: Jin plays a Stun Style deck, aiming to drive his opponent into a corner by way of resource denial, specifically built to take down rare and powerful monsters. He does this through the use of various Trap cards, as well as abilities that force his opponents to discard cards from their hand and leave them with few options. His ace monster is the Mystical Knight of Jackal, which he uses to drive his opponents into a loop they cannot escape by returning the same monster to the top of their deck multiple turns in a row, trapping them in a no-win scenario.

[spoiler=Yuna Kitamura]

Image: https://i.imgur.com/WebqZq0.jpg

Character Quote: "Step Right Up! Who wants to Duel? Everyone's got a chance to be the Winner!"

Name: Yuna Kitamura

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Race: Cybernetic Human

Occupation: Hostess for a carnival

Personality: She is a lot like Yuya Sakaki from Arc-V. She doesn't like to think negatively, and will always try make every situation fun for everone! She never dislikes a Duel, and never makes her opponent feel like they stand no chance. This does not mean she will be a pushover either. Instead, she makes sure she puts forth a great effort, but also ensures that the opponent has as much fun as she is. Her monsters help with this, since most of them are cute, fun, carnival themed creatures. But don't mess with her friends. She will stick up for her friends even when they don't stick up for themselves.

Bio: She was not born in Domino City. In fact, she was born in Duelist Kingdom. Although, she has had temporary homes in lots of places. The reason for this is because her father owns a traveling carnival. She does not mind moving around so much, in fact, it's all she's ever known. She constantly helps out with the carnival, and when she turned 16 her father allowed her to become the hostess of the entire event. This was not a surprise to her though, considering she helped with any task she could ever since the age of 5.

At age 10, she discovered this thing called "Duel Monsters." When she asked her father about it, he said it would never be allowed in the carnival he ran. This only intrigued her more. So, she did something she regrets to this day. She told her father she was visiting a friend when she was really going to buy herself a Duel Disk. But, the problem was that she was using a shady outlet to get it for cheaper. They were called "Dueling Expo" or Dueling Experiments. They had tricked this poor 10 year old girl into believing she was getting a Duel Disk so they could test a new cyber-visual product. She did get a Duel Disk at the end, so she believed the illusion even more thinking this happens to everyone who gets a Duel Disk. It wasn't until she got home and her father questioned her about it that she realized she had been duped.

Needless to say, she was punished for disrespecting and lying to her father, but, when her punishment was over, she made it her goal to make Dueling part of the carnival. The original reason was because there would definitely be a loser and that would go against the "Everyone's a winner" vibe her father established. So, to counter this, she found a way to make both player's feel like they won. She would compliment other player's combos, she would offer to help them become a better duelist, and also, most important, make sure both players are having fun. She then waited until now to tell her father her ideas for adding dueling to the carnival. After all, she is the hostess now, and she found a solution to his original problem with it. He agreed, and now people enjoy their carnival even more.

Appearance: She wears bright, festive, fun, colors to complement her lifestyle. She has blonde hair, with hazel eyes, and a skin complexion that glows. The clothes she wears are usually a bunch of different colors added together, but her favorite color combo is gold, orange and white. Her headress is not actually a removable accessory. It is a permanent fixture that allows her to see things a lot more clearly. It also will help her be able to see the solid vision images created by the duel disks without needing to equip hers. This means she can see other people's duels without activating her duel disk. These cyber attachments also have the neat perk of allowing her to cybernetically change her clothes.

Deck: Yuna's deck focuses on Special Summoning. Link, Pendulum, Xyz, Synchro, Fusion, even just revival or retrieval effects, she loves it. This is also the easiest way to ensure her opponent has as much fun as her. Without driving them into insanity because they can't do anything, or because she has way better cards, her cards have relatively low attack, except her bosses. Like all her monsters, her bosses have ways of Special Summoning archetypal monsters, but they have different sub-effects.

IC is up but you're still accepting right? Dropping a WIP just in case this is still accepting.

[spoiler=Burning Passion!]

Name: Hotaru Adachi
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Occupation: Student, (Semi) Pro Duelist

[spoiler=Appearance]

UsSIJik.jpg

Height: 5'5" | 1.65 m

Hotaru has a slightly taller than average height and a relatively fit and healthy build. While not the curviest, she does have a slight figure to her. The most striking feature of Hotaru is her burning orange eyes, which are windows to the burning fire that is her soul. Emphasizing this is her relatively pale skin and more calm and long green-hair, which she tends to wear as long, thin twintails tied held with red ribbons.

Her outfit is a mix of military-styled and more schoolgirl-like clothing. She wears a camouflage jacket over a rather plain collared t-shirt alongside a plaid skirt, long stripped leggings which vary slightly in color, and spats that reach slightly pass her skirt. Her footwear is almost always boots, although she'll sometimes use sneakers instead. She usually has a bag strapped onto her waste, holding a variety of things in it including her phone and a tablet which she uses to play music. She wears headphones almost all the time, either on her head or around her neck, and fingerless gloves. When she isn't wearing her school uniform, she wears mostly the same outfit save for tan shorts and a plain, loose maroon shirt.

While she doesn't tend to dress all that nicely, she begrudgingly did for the Gala. Instead of a camo hoodie, she wears a black coat with bright yellow buttons that resembles a military coat. Underneath it is a dark red button-up shirt with the top two buttons undone. She wears a long, formal skirt that matches her coat with dark red leggings underneath them. For footwear she wears knee-high black boots. She still wears her hair in twintales, although instead of red bows she wears black bows. Her headphones and fingerless gloves are also missing, although she still has her hip back instead of a purse.

Personality: If there were a word that would describe Hotaru the best, it would be determined. When she sets out to do anything, not only does she give her 110% but there is little that can be said to talk her out of hit. She is headstrong and stubborn, and has a tendency to act on impulse rather than logically planning out her actions. Her tenacity makes her fairly reliable; if she tells you that she is going to do something, it'll more than likely get done. She is also supportive and empathetic, caring deeply about her friends.

Hotaru is an open book, not seeing the need to hide much about herself. She is also talkative, and can sometimes ramble if she is allowed to. Her determination lets her focus on whatever her task is, and doesn't get distracted easily. While not an egomaniac, she can be a bit too confident in her own ability. Most notably, she tends to try and help too many people at once, or try to do things that are simply out of her league.

Of course, her emotions tend to get the best of her, as she is very emotional. Her rashness tends to get her into sticky situations and, while she isn't a complete moron, thinking isn't really her strong suit. She can also get others in bad situations due to her rashness, despite her usually meaning well. She is also pretty naive, always assuming others have the best of intentions.

Biography: Hotaru comes from a relatively average middle class family, with the most notable thing being her grandfather was a professional duelist during his time. She is the youngest of two, having a brother who is 5 years older than her. Her brother, Shiba Adachi, is a up and coming professional duelist, much like herself. In fact, it was Shiba himself that taught Hotaru to play the game of Yugioh when she was relatively young. Her parents didn't have as much passion for the game as their children; although her father did own a card shop, he saw it more as a business rather than a hobby. While her father tended to be around most of the time, her mother was a very busy business women.

It didn't take long after Shiba had taught her the game that she became hooked with it. The two would constantly play against each other, constantly changing decks and cards each match. While Shiba was definitely more interested in the deck building side of things, Hotaru was a lot bigger on making big explosive plays. The two built off of each other this way; Shiba would help Hotaru with deck building while Hotaru would come up with crazy combination of cards that Shiba could use. The two would often browse their father's shop, seeing what cards existed in the game. They would sometimes even buy from him, and even get cards as a gift from the man.

While both of them weren't the greatest duelist around, they had gotten pretty decent at the game from playing with not only each other but also kids around the neighborhood. Eventually, after having saved for about a year or two, they were finally able to get their own Duel Disks. Both of them had decided that they would try and go pro. As they kept on dueling, they built on their decks more and more, having a favorite among them. Hotaru's favorite was a Fire King Deck based around clearing the board multiple time and making explosive plays, while her brother had the more tactically sound Cyber Dragon deck. As they dueled at local shops, word of the two started spreading around the place. Shiba even eventually made it to the big leagues, and Hotaru imagined herself reaching him soon. This year, she was invited to this year's ICCA Gala. While she wasn't keen on dressing up, she couldn't help but feel extremely excited for the upcoming event.

Deck: Hotaru plays an explosive Fire King deck, built around destroying her own monster to blow everything up. Her ace card, Fire King High Avatar Garunix, can be a constant board wipe when it is destroyed by a card effect. Alongside its main goal, it is also packed with not only FIRE support but also Beast, Winged-Beast, and Beast-Warrior support as well.

Miscellaneous

Duel Theme (Dragonforce - Through Fire and Flames)

Hotaru has a sweet tooth, although she tends to avoid eating too many sweets. Alongside Yugioh, she also enjoys running and casual boxing. Her main way of dealing with stress is beating up punching bags while listening to tunes.

Just kidding, second app coming your way!

[spoiler=Coach Fuji]

Name: Kentaro Fujiyama "Coach Fuji"
Gender: Male
Age: 36
Occupation: High school Gym Teacher | Duel School Teacher | Semi-Pro Duelist Sponsor

[spoiler=Appearance]
hHWGRmV.png?3
Coach Fuji is a tall, and built man; standing tall at around 6'1" tall. When it comes to his semi-casual attire, and oftentimes his formal attire when he's not on the court, Fujiyama is almost never seen without sporting a sweater, or sweater-vest of some sort. However, not seeing him working out or on the court is a rarity. Even when it comes to dueling, Coach Fuji is often seen wearing his athletic garb; typically his old, retro gear: a bright orange-and-yellow jersey with neon cyan short-shorts, wrist bands, and a sweat band. While Coach Fuji needs glasses, he only ever wears them when he needs to read or work through forms; he never opts for contact lenses on the principle that "the irritation becomes a distraction".

[spoiler=Personality]
Coach Fuji is passionate for his work and takes it very seriously. Be it in dueling, in work, in life, whatever it is, he holds strong beliefs ideals and standards for how a person conducts themselves, and makes an effort to apply them to ever aspect. Because of this, Coach Fuji has very high standards for how he conducts himself, and is always in search of bettering himself as both a player and as a person, and believes that if someone wishes to become the best at one thing, they need to be the best they can be at all they do.

Some might say that Coach Fuji possibly takes his own work just a bit too seriously. The name "Kentaro Fujisama" does not exist outside of his line of work, his history as a pro duelist, his duel school, or anything. Coach Fuji's work is his life, and this comes with its own line of benefits and downsides. Coach Fuji's passion in the pro circuit and his dueling is very evident, and he becomes a man that doesn't have much in the line of hobbies outside of this part of his life.

In his work, though, Coach Fuji is always looking to help others, and give people the opportunities they deserve in their life; seeking for the good in everyone.

[spoiler=Biography]
Many years ago, the name "Kentaro Fujisama" had a prominent place in the pro circuit. Starting out as hopeful rookie, the underdog many players rooted for, Kentaro went into the dueling scene with nary a rare or powerful card to his name, and made a lasting impression on tournaments and events alike. There wasn't a fan or pro alike that hadn't heard of his name, and even if he wasn't the top player, he was looked for and found in many major tournaments and scenes. Kentaro Fujisama was slated to be the next big name in the record books, another plaque in the hall of fame.

But his career was cut short. Days before a major tournament, Kentaro's father had passed away from cancer. With no time to process, the emotional impact was too much and his dueling began to suffer greatly because of it. Since then, his dueling career took such a steady and sharp, with loss after loss, that it wasn't long until Kentaro was forced to drop out of the professional dueling scene entirely.

All he had left was his exercising, and that's where Kentaro retreated to feel alive, normal, and at peace again. It was his way of coping with his loss, with the failure of his career. It took some time to bounce back from this hit. Working as a janitor at the high school, Kentaro was inspired by the physical education program, and managed to get involved himself, getting to know the students more as he went along. It wasn't long until the existing PE Teacher needed to retire, and the choice in replacement seemed simple, yet a little unconventional. A janitor becoming a teacher? Nobody else on the staff would have guessed.

Bouncing back from his low point, helping students not only with their physical activity but with keeping up with them on their daily lives, Coach Fuji was eventually reintroduced to the world of Duel Monsters. Coaxed back into his dueling days by some students that recognized him, some fans of the old legend, Coach Fuji went from dueling with the kids and giving them pointers now and then, to managing a dueling club at the school to helping students practice for the pro leagues, to founding his own small-time Duel Gym off-campus outside of school hours. With his small amount of success, Coach Fuji found himself able to actually sponsor some of his students into the pro-scene, including a new hopeful rookie with a troubled past from the streets. However, he has a long way to go from becoming as big as any of the other sponsors...

[spoiler=Deck]
Ultimate Ultra Athlete
Coach Fuji, naturally, mains his trusty, yet old, U.A. deck. At first he liked the deck for its aesthetic, for how its themes aligned with his interests, but as he played the deck more and more he just couldn't put it down. The U.A. deck is centered around team work; monsters tagging out to adapt their strategies and encounter new threats. Because of this adaptability, the deck becomes a versatile mid-range strategy that can switch between a defensive, control deck to an offensive battle deck at the drop of a dime.
Ace: Really any of the monsters. Coach Fuji personally identifies with Rival Rebounder.

[spoiler=Written Customs]
