[DP19] Armed Dragon Catapult Cannon

Recommended Posts

I seriously thought this was a digimon for a second.

...anyway, how the heck are we supposed to summon this thing? Armed Dragon LV7 is hard enough to summon, but VWXYZ too? I guess Union Hangar helps the VWXYZ part (right?) and Prisma can dump 5 to try to get to 7 faster... or something.

The banish effect's potent as hell, though. Would suck to get this thing Kaiju'd.

So is this CHAD ultimate boss monster?

Trying not to give them any ideas of wasted potential... But, the only thing it is truly missing is Ojama King mounting this crappy monstrosity...

Dragon Shrine+Level Modulation or Armed Dragon Lvl 5+Level Up! is probably the best way to get Armed Dragon Lvl 7 special summoned.

Dragon Shrine + Level Modulation doesn't actually work. Level Modulation can't ignore Summoning conditions if the monster wasn't properly Summoned first.

I was actually hoping for some Chazz support in this set...

...in the form of Cthonians or something... not this abomination lol

It's probably unlikely [need to look at the set numbers for spaces], but maybe they'll throw some back stuff for them. At least those are more likely to actually be usable in Link format.

But yeah, Konami, I don't know anymore.

(And this card fueled a few response cards a while ago, so...)

well... i've really got nothing to say to this outside of What in the literal hell was konami's R&D section smoking when they made this? the only saving grace is that the monsters don't have to be on the field, but even then, you have to have summoned both of said monsters before using them, which is hard enough. but i guess you could possibly use phantom of chaos, and some form of fusion substitute + hangar to get out VWXYZ, and then tribute it for armed dragon level 5, and then use level up to summon level 7? just spitballing here.

but hot damn. screw table 1, table 500 is gonna have the most hype duels ever. i will drop this at least once in a duel.

I do believe so but it seems slightly innefective with the no monsters although with union scramble it could do something although you would need two to get VWXYZ

Does the sending it to the deck change the fact that it was special summoned as far as the boss is concerned?

I wouldn't see why not, since A Wild Monster Appears! specifically states that you Special Summon the monster. Unless it's considered reset if it goes back into the deck, which would be confusing since you technically already Special Summoned it regardless. I could see ruling conflicts over that scenario. But I'd imagine if you used AWMA and somehow send LV7 to the Graveyard, it would count as SS'd for sure.

Actually, Black has a point. Can't you just dump this in the Grave from the Extra Deck and then just copy it with Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom so you can destroy everything?

Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom's copy effect is once per turn until the End Phase on your turn and Armed Dragon Catapult Cannon's banish nuke effect is once per opponent's turn.

Extensive planning went into this fire diss track of the Chazz.

"Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom" can only copy effects during your turn, and last until the end phase. This monstrocity's effect can only be activated during the opponent's turn, at which point the effect no longer applies.

As stated in my previous comment, there actually is a monster which can 'cheat' this card's effect: "Legendary Knight Hermos". Still not practical though. Maybe there are more, but it is the only one I could find.

That setting is far beyond "not practical", it also requires an opponent fool (dumb) enough to attack it. That being said it is indeed the only "copycat" monster able to do so in your opponent's turn, or that last 1 turn after the effect was copied (that i know).

Even if it's summoning condition kind of makes it a walking Miracle Fusion, the problem is that even having a single deck dedicated to either components is complicated enough, so you pretty much needed to combine two different decks for this. Have we had any other card that requires three other Fusion summons before this one? At least this only requires Armed Dragon LV7, even though LV10 did show up often enough that I wouldn't be surprised if that was a Fusion material.

Personally, I am very disappointed that we got this before a fusion of VWXYZ and Mecha Ojama King.

Even Digimon is less likely to have a clusterfuck like this.

It won't count.

Monsters returned to the hand or Deck forget whether they were Summoned properly. If you SSed Armed LV7, and then returned it to the hand, and then discarded it, you can't use Level Modulation on it, because it only ignores Summon Conditions if the monster was Summoned properly immediately BEFORE going to the Graveyard.

Since this card's Summon Condition applies to the Fusion Materials on the Field or Graveyard, that is where it will be checked whether that monster was Summoned. If you used Wild Monster Appears, but then the monster returns to the Deck, and is later sent to the Graveyard, it is not a valid Fusion Material for this.

EDIT: But it...PROBABLY works if you use AWMA, and Armed 7 goes to the Graveyard from the Field afterwards.

I am not sure, considering this card does state the above materials need to be special summoned, I would assume it simply refers to whether a monster with that name was summoned or not, meaning the materials would not need to be special summoned, considering it lays a separate condition on the game itself. Though I am not sure if that is how it is ruled, though otherwise it would and should state "this card's materials must have been special summoned".

Wait. Back up.

What do you mean by "it forgets"? We all saw it be Special Summoned. How do we remember the card got Special Summoned, but the gamestate doesn't?

Because the deck is an unknown location. Nothing guarantees it is the same card.

However, this isn't the same. They are two separate clauses, so they don't need to be the same card. As long as you summoned something with the name, anything is fair game.
