kind of upset that the ancient gear monster doesn't have higher ATK, but it's within reason, and the effect is pretty nice either way.

 

the Crystal beast player at our local library is going to fangirl so f***ing hard over that new rainbow dragon. and if i'm not mistaken, can't you tribute a malefic rainbow dragon for it? making the process insanely easy? i somewhat remember something about malefic rainbow not having the same kanji as rainbow dragon and rainbow dark, but i'm not sure. and if i'm reading correctly, wouldn't it be impossible to use the 2nd effect if you summoned it using the alternate method? since it says :"Must be Special Summoned by Fusion Summon or the following method," instead of "Must be special Summoned by  Fusion Summon, or the following method: by Tributing a Level 10 “Ultimate Crystal God” monster you control (You do not use “Polymerization”. this method is also treated as a Fusion Summon)" slightly wrong wording on my part, but  i'm tired, hopefully my meaning gets across.

Also you can't use Malefic Rainbow Dragon. Malefic Rainbow Dragon isn't an Ultimate Gem God monster.

dragons mirror spicy tech though? it doesn't say the monsters have to have different names, so the second you get any 7 on field and/or in grave, it should be good to go.

I'm not sure that there's a variant of CB that runs enough Beasts for that to be a legitimate tech, but I haven't played the deck for ages.

 

Iirc they run like 8-11 CBs at most and most of those will stay in your backrow anyway, so it'll be a while to get the necessary amount of CBs to use Mirror.

I find amusing how these 2 are such blatant upgrades of their archetype bosses: The Ancient Gear has more flexible material requirements and floats into UAGG, which in turn floats into AGG; the Rainbow Dragon outright upgrades the original Rainbow Dragon or, you know, you can Summon it through Dragon's Mirror. Regardless, really good support IMO, and that they are relatively feasible to Summon is an appreciated plus. I'm actually tempted to try Crystal Beasts now, since that Quick Effect full-field spin looks so sweet.

Just to know if i understand correctly the Ultimate Crystal Gods are both raimbow dragons right?

 

Raimbow overdragon (probably gonna be its tcg name, if they dont change others name to make them part of an actual archtype) artowrk is sick AF. But it sucks that it has to be fuson summoned to use its 2nd effect, although dragons mirror can now be a tech (as stated above) for CB and makes it easier not having to be different names, i fail to see the purpose of the alternative summoning method (not that im complaining) but since the dragon wont get access to the spining effect feels redunduant in a way. The boost effect is present in both dragons in some shape or form (this is a better boost effect overall i must say) but still,  why would i tribute them for this?

The Rainbow Dragon can be used to ditch 7 Crystal Beasts using Future Fusion, which also enables all rainbow cards 1 turn later (and let us face it, crystal beasts usually do far worse than that). Though if this also hints at retrains and other cb support that sounds amazing.

But wow now TCG really has to errata "Ultimate Gem God" support cards, especially Rainbow Neos and Advanced Dark. Other support is only for Main Decks so it should be okay. The only way I see to fix this archetype problem is to make a "Rainbow Dragon" archetype and just slap that "(This card is always treated as a "Rainbow Dragon" card)" on Rainbow Dark Dragon. Oh wait. "Malefic Rainbow Dragon" isn't part of the archetype. God damn it Konami. I guess they can treat the archetype as "Divine Ultimate Gem" or something.

They won't do that, since the cards are too popular to be renamed (They never did rename Diffusion Wave-Motion and just added a condition). And even if they rename the cards, "Malefic Rainbow Dragon" isn't part of the archetype.

Too bad Rainbow Over cannot even spin the field if he is summoned using rainbow dragon.

Thing is Rainbow Gravity can Summon this from the Graveyard, so there is that issue. Best thing to do is Slap an archetype clause on the original two.
