DARK Level 5 Zombie Ritual Effect
ATK 2300/DEF 0
You can Ritual Summon this card with any "Vendread" Ritual Spell. When a card or effect is activated that would destroy a card on the field (Quick Effect): You can banish 1 Zombie monster from your GY; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card. If this card is Tributed, or banished, for a Ritual Summon: All monsters your opponent controls lose 500 ATK/DEF. You can only use this effect of "Vendread Chimera" once per turn.

This is very interesting, not only is the artwork nuts AF, its a Level 5 Ritual that has a Stardust Dragon effect but it banishes Zombies from the GY for its cost. Its other effect let's you drop the ATK and DEF of your opponent's monsters if its used for a Ritual Summon by Tributing or banishing it giving the Vendreads some defense against effect destruction and giving your monsters a chance to smash through your opponent's monsters. If Konami keeps this up making very versatile and strong Ritual Monsters for the Archetype, I think there's a slight chance that they could become the new Nekroz, but what do you all think?

Back to the artwork, its frickin' crazy awesome, there's an elephant, a snake, some mutant worm thing, maybe an Armorphage dragon on the side, random bird wings, and legs from like 5 other animals everywhere, oh and its main head towards the middle is like from something straight from a modern horror movie or even a japanese hen.. nevermind ;P

(I'll update the image later when we get one in English.)

YGO, you know, for kids! That is one terrifying image, I don't even know what I am looking at really. As for the card itself, not a bad Ritual Monster, doubling up when it is Tributed is always a nice quality in a Ritual Monster, so it doesn't feel like you wasted it. Not much else to say, we just need some more Vendreads so we can make a proper Deck.

Considering that most people who play this game are older teens and adults and that this game in Japan was meant for those demographics, the only reason its packaged outside Japan as being "for kids" is because it was a card game similar to MTG but more colorful and it had an anime that could be dubbed for younger audiences.

It's a negation body, but not a hard one to play around. Destroying is so last decade.

Actually, in the Arc-V era, we had many effects that destroyed that were relevant. Metalfoes for example. :P

Yeah, I think this is pretty good against decks that depend on destroying their own cards to gain advantage. Shame it can't stop Diagram, but at least it can stop Wavering Eyes.
