EARTH Level 7 Machine Synchro Effect
ATK 2600/DEF 1400
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
If this card battles an opponent's monster, your opponent's cards and effects cannot be activated until the end of the Damage Step, also that opponent's monster has its effects negated during the Battle Phase only. If this face-up card in its owner's control leaves the field because of an opponent's card effect: You can target 1 Machine monster in your GY; Special Summon it.

WTF!? Why make a card that is essentially a Superheavy Samurai when they were really never that good to begin with?

Well, it's not bad I suppose, nice that it says leaves the field, and not is destroyed, makes it much more powerful in that regard. Fun to just get another copy of itself, and also place it in the MMZ instead. The fact that it's generic is nice too. Nothing too special, but I'm sure that anything that can make it may consider it if they have the space for it.

Oh I just noticed, its head looks a lot like Samurai Skull (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Samurai_Skull)

jfc dude just because it's similar in appearance and theme doesn't mean it's "ESSENTIALLY A SUPERHEAVY SAMURAI". It's a robot samurai with a generic goodstuff effect.

And that's what it is. It's just, it's a nice battle option for a Level 7 synchro pool that can help take out some pesky targets. It's not like, amazing, and the float's easy to get around if it's just slammed into the ground, but overall it's not bad as far as cards go, and at the least the float ensures that your opponent can't just wipe your field and go in for a kill; they need to battle it first.

Also, just by principle of what this card is in appearance, design, and function, you'd swear I designed it.

I wonder when was the last time we had a Synchro Monster with restricted materials.

Also I searched around and found out that there's no "Samurai" monster, excluding this card, that has more than 2500 ATK.

Interesting.

But it still can't beat Superheavy Samurais.  :Kappa:

EDIT: Although now that I think about it, Superheavies can't battle him, because this negates their "attacking with DEF" effect... I think?

Pretty sure it can. Superheavy attacks this while in Defence Position, this negates Superheavy's effect which would cancel the battle since it's now just a monster in Defence Position.

Yea, but... this still can't run over them. It just stops Superheavies from attacking it.

If you attack them with this, you would just still take DAMAGE!

They should've added an effect that would change your opponent's monster's battle position or something, but what's done is done.

Does anyone else think that they put this in partly for Destrudo in the Sneak Peek? This just feels like a good generic Synch-7 for a good generic Synch-7 enabler. Perhaps just wishful thinking, since Konami probably doesn't design sets for Sneak Peeks at all.

The negation seems to happen before the Damage Step, so any effect that would cause it to be able to battle in Defense Position would be negated, and as such, the attack can no longer occur. I'm about 90% sure about this.

Welp, I know what Karakuris and Crystons will be running at least 1 of in their Extra Decks from now on.

I do love this card. It's not only a Citrine, but it improves on the Citrine effect by negating the effect of the monster.

Slap on a Gravity Blaster or activate a Limiter Removal and watch this thing go to town on anything in its way.

Stealth Ninja is MUCH BETTER for Crystrons. but whatever. Kinda looks like Gurren Lagann, with Samurai Skull just being Lagann if it's actually the head for Samurai Destroyer. Now all we need is a Drill and a Accel Synchro
