[JUMP promo] Linkuriboh

1 Level 1 monster
When an opponent's monster declares an attack: You can Tribute this card; change that opponent's monster's ATK to 0, until the end of this turn. If this card is in your GY (Quick Effect): You can Tribute 1 Level 1 monster; Special Summon this card. You can only use this effect of "Linkuriboh" once per turn.

So this is the next JUMP promo which sucks to be fair, discuss?

Slightly off topic, but when was the last time a kuriboh monster was used with decent competitive viability? (yes, legitimately curious)

I remember rainbow kuriboh being used in lightsworns and that grass lightsworn was actually not that far in the distant past ... though I am not sure they still used it ... beyond that all other kuribohs (outside of kuribandit) are garbage.

As for this card, it is insane ... though I assume it should be very obvious to everyone anyways.

Kuribohs actually have a surprisingly extensive competitive history!

In 2014, Rainbow Kuriboh saw play in decks topping at every competitive level in the TCG up to WCQ's in both North and Central America. In 2016, it's appeared in a couple Regionals, including a Top 8 Regional Fire Fist build as recently as December 2016.

Sphere Kuriboh was mained in a Top 16 deck at a St. Louis Regional in March 2016.

Junkuriboh was sided in a Top 8 deck at a Minnesota Regional, also in March 2016.

Kuriboh was sided in a Top 8 Regional Deck as recently as 2013.

Winged Kuriboh was sided in an SJC-winning deck in 2007, as well as 3 decks that Top 8'd an SJC the same year. This was to help defend against Stein OTK IIRC.

Clear Kuriboh, Kuribohrn, Relinkuriboh, The Flute of Summoning Kuriboh, Winged Kuriboh LV9, and Winged Kuriboh LV10 have yet to appear in Top competitive decks in major TCG tournaments as far as I'm aware, but Relinkuriboh has decent potential to top a regional with the new Pegasus support.

Kuribandit and Kurivolt are no more Kuriboh than Karakuris, so they don't count as true Kuribohs.

I remember back in the Synchro era, Kuriboh was an okay engine for chaos. Norleras loved it (his whole trio) and the OG chaos monsters did so too. Flute of Summoning Kuriboh had a lot to do with that to be fair.

Kuribolt must have been a tech at some point.... I think it never really reached real competitive use though, because the decent Rank 1s only came near the end of the era or outright after it had passed.

JUMP promos might as well not exist until they stop being JUMP exclusive.

Card is good. A cheap generic arrow pointing down is amazing.

Link Spider requiring vanillas can be kind of a pain.

Most others are Link 2s exclusive to certain traits like EARTH, Insect, WATER, etc.

Decode Talker is a bit hefty for some decks, and anything there and beyond is no longer just an enabler.
