Glitch Girls [WRITTEN]

So this is an archetype I created recently based around flipping the control of Monsters across the field with the use of some Spell cards. If I had to relate this to a real-game counterpart, it would be some mash between Kaijus and Dustons. If you have any thoughts or questions about Glitch Girls, don't hesitate to ask! I'm always open for suggestions!

 

MONSTERS

 

Glitch Girl

Effect: This card must attack if able. If this card is destroyed by battle or card effect and there are only Machine-Type Monsters on the field, return it to the hand of the original controller.

 

Glitch Girl is used for filler when the player doesn't have the draw power or the cards they need. The recycling effect pairs great with Glitch City and can b e used to stall for time as you grow your hand.

 

Glitch Girl V-2

Effect: This card must attack if able. If this card is destroyed by battle, and there are only Machine-Type Monsters on the field, the current controller of this card must destroy one other card they control.

 

V-2 is one of the more integral parts of the archetype, causing your opponent to not only take battle damage but then having to pop one card they control. This could help with tight field set-ups such as Dark Magician or with Links formed from Decode Talker or Walker. Getting the foothold on your opponent's side of the field is what this archetype is about.

 

Glitch Girl V-3

Effect: This card must attack if able. If this card is destroyed by battle or card effect, and there are only Machine-Type Monsters on the field, the original controller of this card may add one "Glitch" card from their Deck or Graveyard to their hand. Your opponent can pay 1000 Life Points to negate this effect.

 

Allowing the recycling of "Glitch" cards is a good bonus but the real kicker of V-3 is her ability to have her own effect negated. Already piling on damage from the other Glitch Girls, the extra 1000 Life Points could make or break a game.

 

Glitch Girl V-4

Effect: This card must attack if able. If this card is destroyed by card effect, and there are only Machine-Type Monsters on the field, the original controller of this card can shuffle one "Glitch" card from their Graveyard into their Deck.

 

V-4 doesn't offer anything new, but can be used as Rank 4 XYZ Material.

 

Glitch Girl Terabyte

Effect: You can Special Summon this card (From your hand) if there are two or more "Glitch Girl" Monsters on the field, not including "Glitch Girl Terabyte". Your opponent can only target this card for attacks. If this card is destroyed by battle, you may Special Summon one "Glitch Girl" Monster from your Graveyard, other than "Glitch Girl Terabyte".

 

Terabyte is the beatstick that ties everything together. Not only does your opponent have to throw the Glitch Girls at her, but the 3000 ATK isn't something to scoff at. The destruction effect makes this card a real powerhouse when used in tandem with the other Glitch Girls.

 

SPELLS

 

Glitch

Quick-Play

Effect: Change all Monsters your opponent controls to Attack Position. They cannot change their Battle Positions, even by card effect. During the End Phase, return all the Monsters to the Battle Positions they were during the Draw Phase of this turn.

 

"Glitch" is just to prevent your opponent from changing the battle positions of the Glitch Girls to escape taking damage. It also has a nice aesthetic, which I like.

 

Glitch City

Continuous

Effect: Once per turn, during either player's turn, if you control a "Glich Girl" card, you may give control of that Monster to your opponent. During the End Phase of the turn that this card's effect was activated, return that Monster to the original owner's control.

 

This is the most important card. It allows you to cycle control of the Glitch Girls to your opponent. If the Monster escapes destruction, you get it back to try and do it again next turn. Graydle and Kaijus and Dustons could work with this as well.

 

Glitch Permanence

Field

Effect: All Monsters on the field become Machine-Type Monsters. If a "Glitch" Monster is destroyed by battle, inflict 500 Life Points to the controller of that Monster when it was destroyed.

 

This Field Spell secures the effects of Glitch Girls and their requirement to have only Machine-Type Monsters on the field. The burn effect continues to pile on damage.
