I said I'd deliver eh?

Here's your treats-and unlike Mounds, they're guaranteed to make you feel better about the producer thereof (seriously, coconuts are the tofu of fruits and I'm being generous, who wants to ruin chocolate like that get cookies n'cream milkshakes like a real mvp)

(why no I've never had a repeat trick-or-treater at my house why do you ask)

[spoiler=Solitary Shadow Spell: Info]
Continuous Trap Card

Lore: While you control no monsters in your Extra Monster Zone, monsters you control are unaffected by the effects of monsters your opponent controls during the Main Phase 1 of the turn those monsters were Summoned only. When a monster your opponent controls battles a monster you control, your opponent's monster loses 700 ATK. You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 monster on the field that is the only Special Summoned monster on its controller's side of the field; it loses 700 ATK, also it cannot attack.

Our first tale takes a look at where the source of the awe-inspiring Shadow Spell's power-and the tragic story of the girl at the center of it-placed there since the inception of Eden defying divine will, this Sisyphean sentence made it so that she would be cursed to use her power place on others what she believed the divine placed on humanity's brain- chains shackles. This will not be the end of her story in the set, but let us continue on to....

vampire_orchis_the_blood_botanical_by_bd

[spoiler=Vampire Orchis the Blood Botanical: Info]
EARTH/Plant-Type Fusion Effect Monster/Level 8/2500 ATK/1000 DEF

Lore: "Des Dendle" + 1 "Vampire" monster
You can also Special Summon this card (from your Extra Deck) by banishing the above cards from your GY. (You do not use "Polymerization".) Each time a non-Effect Monster(s) is Special Summoned, all monsters your opponent controls lose 400 ATK/DEF. If this card is Fusion Summoned, or if this card destroys a monster by battle: Special Summon 1 "Wicked Plant Token" (Plant/EARTH/Level 1/ATK 800/DEF 800). All Tokens cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 Plant or Zombie monster from your Deck, ignoring its Summoning conditions, but its ATK becomes 2500.

Putting together "Vampire Orchis" and "Des Dendle", not too unlike that of "Dark Blade the Dragon Knight", would normally be a mark of genius-but in the case of the Vampires who mutated both organisms to give them an early warning system as to who would invade their empire, the goal was far more sinister-and far more self-defeating, as the corruption brought upon this blighted tree turned it from notifier of destruction to instrument thereof, consuming the Vampires set to corral it and setting off on its own sanguine hunt.

Pray your little tykes never play tag and run into this tree-it's less made for treehouses and more made for mortuaries.

But even this force of nature may pale in comparison to....

[spoiler=Des Typhoon: Info]

Normal Trap Card

Lore: Banish 1 "Typhoon", "Twister" or "Tornado" card from your GY, and if you do, send 1 Set Spell/Trap on the field to the GY, then you can take 1 Normal Spell/Trap or 1 Quick-Play Spell from your hand or Deck with the same name as a card banished or sent to the GY with this effect, and either activate it or send it to the GY.

Turning the Shadow Specter into a living tornado, in the same vein as Tornado Dragon? A gamechanger. It plaguing the same spots the Trunades used to strike at, due to the sentinent storm's additction to crushing hope as well as bodies in a double-tap disaster? A tragedy. Doing it all by harnessing the power of Typhoons, Twisters, and Tornados past? A comedy. Less so to the populace suffering underneath this calamitous cyclone that you, but a comedy nevertheless. Even if Greek.

But a bigger disaster than even this? Well it would possibly be apocalyptic, maybe even big enough to cross....

[spoiler=The Dogoran Threshold: Info]

Normal Spell Card

Lore: Tribute 1 monster on each player's side of the field with the same Type, Attribute, or Extra Deck monster type (Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link) Special Summon 1 Level 8 monster from your Deck to your opponent's side of the field, ignoring its Summoning conditions, then you can activate 1 Continuous Trap from your hand or Deck that includes an effect that can Special Summons itself as a monster. You cannot attack Level 8 monsters with any monsters you control, or attack directly, during the turn you activate this card.

Yes, for certain situations where the alternative is Armageddon, there are times when calling the country-destroying monster may actually be the best alternative to that situation. Sure SyFy's Horror Survival Tips may say otherwise on its effectiveness, something about making bigger snakes to take out other big snakes, but this threshold-usually dubbed by the name of the great beast this Kaiju's named after-often says as much as the world willing to accept it as it does about the monster in the center of it.

Also it has synergy with Trap Monsters for some reason. Have fun with that one.

Or rather, this zero.....

[spoiler=Patient Zero - Spinnelli: Info]

patient_zero___spinelli_by_bdsceptyr-dbs

DARK/Insect-Type Pendulum Tuner Normal Monster/Level 5/2550 ATK/0 DEF

Scales: 2/2

Pendulum Lore: When this card is activated: You can add 1 Insect Tuner, Gemini, or Pendulum Monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Patient Zero" - Spinelli" once per turn. While you control an Insect monster in your Extra Monster Zone, or if you control an Insect monster in your other Pendulum Zone, all Special Summoned monsters on the field become Insect monsters.

Lore: (Page 332) We've finally managed to isolate the malignant gene that's been destroying humanity for years now; apparently this Black Plague came from wolf spiders instead of rats. Most of my colleagues have succumbed to the virus, so we'll test this cure on Patient Zero first. Perhaps through her, our antidote may give us all a light at the end of this tunnel.
(Page 333) THE LIGHT IS FROM A TRAIN IT IS DAY ZERO SAVE YOURSE

Oh, sorry for placing the card within the spolier, but in this case, it's for your own good-as the text it bears shows, what it's made of isn't just sugar and spice and everything nice. Try plagues, counterproductive antidotes,  and a girl at the center of it all who'd soon be twisted and turned into the end of if all.

Wanna limit our time in this zone, so let's turn now to....

theban_poltergeist_by_bdsceptyr-dbrqq11.

[spoiler=Theban Poltergeist: Info]

LIGHT/Fiend-Type Effect Monster/Level 4/2000 ATK/0 DEF

Lore: Cannot attack unless you have no cards in your hand. During your Main Phase, you can Normal Summon 1 LIGHT Fiend monster, except "Theban Poltergeist", in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. (You can only gain this effect once per turn.) Up to twice per turn, if you have no cards in your Spell & Trap Zones: You can destroy 1 card in your hand, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Theban Token" (Fiend/LIGHT/Level 2/ATK 1000/DEF 1000) in Defense Position.

When it comes to passing around spirits, this Theban terrorizer is going for a different method than simply haunting their dreams-this one haunts their bodies, and uses them to propagate more Thebans for the cause-to the often perilous extent of their host.

Next up is a far more tumulutous storyline, this time not between a ghost and its host....

big_bad_riding_hood_by_bdsceptyr-dbrxdgv

[spoiler=Big Bad Riding Hood: Info]

DARK/Beast-Warrior-Type Effect Monster/Level 6/1100 ATK/2200 DEF

Lore: Quick Effect: You can reveal this card in your hand, then target 1 Beast or Beast-Warrior monster you control, except "Big Bad Riding Hood"; Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, destroy that target. If a monster(s) you control was destroyed this turn (Quick Effect): You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; that monster cannot destroy this card while it is on the field (by battle or card effect). (Quick Effect, except the turn this card was Special Summoned): You can banish 1 monster from either GY with the same name as a card targeted by this effect since last turn; until the end of this turn, all Beast and Beast-Warrior monsters you control with 1100 or less ATK gain 2200 ATK. You can only use each effect of "Big Bad Riding Hood" once per turn.

..but between a beauty and the beast.

Yes, this card is a rather peculiar monster, being both innocent damsel and titanic beast of the eponymous tale "Little Red Riding Hood"-a schizophrenic stalker of the night that both man and beast alike fear.

sealmaster_monk_by_bdsceptyr-dbs0i0s.png

[spoiler=Sealmaster Monk: Info]
EARTH/Spellcaster-Type Effect Monster/Level 7/2500 ATK/1000 DEF

Lore: Quick Effect: You can destroy 1 monster you control and 1 other monster in your hand, including a Level 3 EARTH or Normal Monster; Special Summon this card from your hand, then you can Set 1 "Sealing" Continuous Spell/Trap, 1 "Lone Wolf" or 1 "Kaminote Blow" from your Deck. That Set card can be activated this turn. Once per turn, if you control no other monsters (Quick Effect): You can target 1 other monster on the field; change its battle position, also its name becomes "Monk Fighter" while it is face-up on the field.; This card's name becomes "Sealmaster Meisei" while on the field.

This card is made from the cataclysmic assault brought together by a struggle between two childhood friends in Sealmaster Meisei and the Master Monk-stemming from a conflict of interests in Meisei's latest backers. This culminated in a titanic fight where the magic within the talismans of Meisei and the Black Belt of the Monk ended up combining their ki - and their bodies - together. Now they prowl the earth, enthralled to the power their combat elicited, and looking to augment it through more confrontation-even if the world must burn to sake their linear lust for power.

Next up, in a call to the former....

chamber_of_containment_by_bdsceptyr-dbs4

[spoiler=Chamber of Containment: Info]

Continuous Spell Card

Lore: When this card is activated: You can destroy 1 Set card you control; Special Summon 1 "Contained Beast Token" (DARK/Fiend/Level 8/3000 ATK/0 DEF) to your opponent's side of the field in Attack Position, then Special Summon 2 "Containment Corporal Tokens" (Warrior/LIGHT/Level 2/1500 ATK/1500 DEF) to your side of the field, in Defense Position. Monsters that are Special Summoned by monster or Spell effects, except by this card and Ritual Spells, cannot activate their effects the turn they are Summoned, they lose 500 ATK/DEF, also their ATK/DEF cannot be increased by card effects. You can banish this card from your GY; Set 1 "Containment Breach" from your Deck.

This card is the continuation of the power struggle won by the monsters behind the curtain in Containment Breach - no, not the SCP game, the Trap Card of the last 10 Nights of Fright - that legitimized the phrase "Fiend Ritual Turbo" and gives it more dimensions by showcasing the typical cases and contingencies of these Containers-in their struggle against the slaughterhouses that plague their world.

And Finally, we conclude the story of Solitary Shadow Spell, with what happened with its prisoner when she found her own route to freedom...

I give you....

[spoiler=Lili-Si: Info]
DARK/Fiend-Type Pendulum Spirit Effect Monster/Level 9/2500 ATK/3500 DEF

Scales: 8/8

Pendulum Lore: When this card is activated: You can send 1 Spirit monster from your Deck to the GY. Once per turn: You can Special Summon 1 DARK Spirit monster from your GY to your opponent's side of the field, ignoring its Summoning conditions, and if you do, activate 1 "Yata" or "Spirit" Spell/Trap from your Deck, except a "Spirit Message" card.

Lore: Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned by its own effect. During the Main Phase (Quick Effect): You can banish 2 Spirit monsters from your side of the field and/or GY, including a DARK monster; Special Summon this card from your hand. Once per turn: You can Normal Summon 1 Spirit monster whose Level is between 5 to 8 from your hand without Tributing as an additional Normal Summon. Your opponent cannot activate Normal Spells/Traps, except during the Main Phase 2. Once per turn, during the End Phase, if this card was Special Summoned this turn: Return it to the hand.

This card is the new frontier I promised to break in terms of cardmaking-the first ever Spirit Pendulum monster I've ever made in the BlaDeS of Change, and one featuring the queen of fiends within the bounce-happy series of monsters-Lilith, which this card's name is the Chinese translation of. This card has 500 less ATK and 500 more DEF than the only other Level 9 Spirit monster in capacity-Amaterasu-makes sense since she's her equal in power now.

And really, that bears all the more dire for the world that left her to her fate.

Until the next Halloween then, folks, may the reviews and revelry, arrive in abundance.

BDS, signing off.
