Several Duels had started to determine new and able students, several of the promising pupils already finishing their duels with stride. Jack Angels, however showed up late, he was cocky, he knew he could win a duel for entrance into the Academy. That was until, the Duel Professor of Ra Yellow got pissed, how dare Jack Angels, an underground duelist, show up unannounced like he owns the building. Instead of using the decks provided for the proctors, the Professor, Nebulus, loaded his own deck into the Duel Disk and challenged the scruff to duel. "I draw" His Scottish accent was thick as he started off his duel. "First, I'll summon Gouki Riscorpio, then by sending my Gokui Twistcobra to the Graveyard, I'll Special Summon my Gokui Headbatt in Defense Mode and give my Gouki Riscorpio 800 ATK points. I'll then set a card face down and end my turn. Your move, child." Jack scoffed, giving a smirk of confidence then drawing a card from his deck. "Don't expect this to be easy. I'll activate Mausoleum of White then summon, Protector with Eyes of Blue, which allows me to summon the White Stone of Legend then, I'll discard my Sage with Eyes of Blue and send my White Stone of Legend to both add a Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Special Summon a Blue-Eyes White Dragon from my deck. Then, I'll tune my Blue-Eyes White Dragon with Protector with Eyes of blue to Synchro Summon Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon in Attack Mode. Now, I activate Silver's Cry, Special Summoning my Blue-Eyes White Dragon from my Graveyard. Then I activate the Spell Card, Burst Stream of Destruction, destroying your monsters and allowing my Azure-Eyes to attack directly!" The hologram roars, letting of a blue blast towards the teacher, lowering his Life Points to 5500. "I end my turn" From this point, several turns went by, being extremely one sided and in Jack's favor. During the final turn, Jack had three Blue-Eyes White Dragons, Firewall Dragon and Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon, a face-up Mausoleum of White and face down Solemn Strike. Jack's Life Points were untouched while the teacher was barely holding on with 1000 Life Points. Then, Jack raised his hand. "Let's go, Firewall Dragon, attack your opponent directly" His Life Points dropped to zero, Jack being the clear winner. The holograms faded and Jack lowered his Duel Disk, clear shock rippling across the room. From here, students arrived on Academy grounds and were congregating in the common room.

"I'm late!" Yuna screamed as she made her mad dash to school. Today was the first day, and she did not want to be tardy in the slightest.

That's what you get for staying up late to invent a new carnival game...

Yuna was well aware of the Duel punishment for tardy students. As much fun as it would be, it would be challenging and most likely physically draining going against a staff member.

Finally, she arrived at the Duel Academy. She looked at the time.

"8:05! Five minutes late!"

She began to walk towards the main office when she heard something nearby.

"Let's go, Firewall Dragon, attack your opponent directly"

Sounds like a duel. Could someone else be taking the punishment?

This was her lucky break! She didn't have to duel the staff if someone else was! She started to walk toward the front doors this time, but decided against it.

It would be more fun to watch this guy duel...

So Yuna stood there observing. It seemed the student was winning.

"Good job!" She complimented like she always does. It was a way to ensure "Fun for everyone!" as her father would say.

Soon the duel was over, and the student had whooped the teacher's butt.

Wow... He's gonna be a difficult opponent...

Just then, Yuna heard something behind her breaking her from her thoughts. But before she could turn around, it ran right into her.

The first day back at Duel Academy! Hanako made sure to wake up extra-early this morning so that she had time to get everything ready. There were new students to make a good first impression with after all, as well as teachers and fellow classmates to not disappoint. She'd triple-checked that her deck was in order, had prepared a simple batch of simple cookies to give out to new students - it was important to make them feel welcome, after all - and freshly ironed out her uniform. Slifer Red's uniform, of course.

Just where I belong...

As Hanako entered the school once more, she promptly made her way toward the dueling arena. That was where duels were staged, and being the first day back at Duel Academy, there were bound to be plenty of aspiring duelists. Hanako wasn't necessarily interested in dueling herself, but she was fine being moral support for others, whether they had a crushing defeat or just otherwise didn't have a good day before arriving. As she moved to get a better vantage point of the latest duel that had just wrapped up, however, her balance faltered just for a moment. As she was moving downward. Hanako tripped.

"Woah!" With only the brief exclamation as her response to the sudden falling over, Hanako fell down onto the floor, the small box of relatively fresh home-baked treats directly into the back of the girl unfortunate enough to be standing in front of Hanako.

Arroyo popped open the box his father had given him before the voyage. Knowing his father, it was something water related.
Inside, the box held up to his father's reputation. It was filled with water atribute monster cards. He smiled slightly, and sorted through them best he could. Inside were many "Atlantian" cards and; Arroyo smiled at this one, the newest "Graydle" card. "Perfect. This should round out my deck."
Arroyo shuffled it into his deck, stowed the aquamarine colored box into his khaki shorts, and looked down to the duel arena's below, seeing a "Firewall Dragon" attack to end the duel. ' Impresive.... But that card is no Graydle Dragon. Might be worth it to duel him, just to test Graydle Polymer and Graydle Empress.' He smiled slightly, and did his best to walk through the crowd to get to that person, whoever they are.
Arroyo caught up to the person and asked them, "Hello, I am Arroyo, and I saw you duel. That Dragon of yours, it is impressive; but.." he said while his eyes glimmered with amusement, "I have a mightier one in my deck. Sometime soon, we should duel. What do you say?"

"Anytime. But you must know, Firewall Dragon isn't my mightiest monster." Jack was calm as he spoke, but it could be told he was cocky, extremely so. Even then, he had two separate decks that would give him the edge.  But, since he was competing with new and more skilled duelists, he knew he'd have to make some changes to his deck.  He felt an intense start of rivalry by meeting this on in particular, offering his hand. "My name's Jack. Jack Angels." He said, waiting for the response of the other duelist. Even now, he was still thinking of future duels, how his Dragons might fair in the long run against such opponents. He was hoping they'd be twice as skilled as the duelists he went against underground.

The box of cookies hit Yuna's back. She staggered for a second, trying to regain her balance, then turned around to see who had thrown them at her. But, when she turned around, she saw it was an accident, and the little girl who had been holding them was lying on the floor.

"Are you ok?" Yuna asked the small child while offering her hand to help her up.

...

There was no answer.

"Shy aren't you? Well don't worry. My name's Yuna. What's yours?" She inquired again.

After the girl answered, Yuna replied, That's a nice name. Say, wanna come to my carnival after classes? It will be fun!"

Yuna knew this might be rushing things a bit, but she wanted to make a friend in this place. After all, the friends she made before are all in different countries.

This Jack person, was very cocky. Arroyo had a clear advantage, because he saw Jack's Deck! Nonetheless, he shook the hand sent his way. He smirked, but only enough to show a bit of pleasure. "Well met, Jack. But I have a slight advantage over you. I know what deck you run." Arroyo released the handshake, and pulled out his deck. He pulled out of his Extra Deck Graydle Dragon, and showed it to him. "It is only fair that you know what deck I run, to be fair. I like a good fair challenge," He looked dead into Jack's eyes and locked into them."If you can last more than a few turns against me." Arroyo thought quickly about what blue-eyes decks have, and what could counter it. 'I have a Dimensional Barrier, a Solemn, and a Sea Turtle. What else could I use?' This was the hardest part of the game. Learning how to counter decks. Now, the mind game continues, and the rivalry begins.

"That is true. But, in time, we'll see what happens." Jack could tell Arroyo was very confident in his abilities, which he liked. Most were too afraid in the underground scene. Though, the name "Angels"was feared instead of revered. The irony did not escape him, but regardless, this Duelist in particular interested him. He pulled out his deck, exposing to Arroyo his ultimate card, Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon. "This is the ultimate creature in my deck. I look forward to dueling you." Jack could tell he was thinking of a way around his deck. 'I could give him the slip and use Cyber Dragon. But, that'd be a bit unexpected and uncalled for.' Jack gave a smile to Arroyo before walking off, looking around at the other students enrolled here.

"Are you ok?"

A-ah! Somebody got hit by my clumsiness. She probably hates me now. Hanako scurried up to her feet, and hurried to pick up the little box before popping the lid off to ensure the contents were undamaged. Clusmy though she may have been, at least Hanako was proving lucky this morning. The cookies, maybe because she opted for softer ones, were more or less unaffected by Hanako's little fall. That was a relief. She would hate to offer someone something nice then pop open the box only to have the recipient be met with mostly crumbs. She flinched a little just thinking of the scolding she'd probably get for trying to give people crumbs as if she was trying to feed a school of ants.

So relieved was Hanako, in fact, that she completely forgot to answer the girl's question if she was okay. As such, she was somewhat surprised when she was met with even more questions.

"Shy aren't you? Well don't worry. My name's Yuna. What's yours?"

"H, Hanako," she quietly answered as she closed the box in her hands.

"That's a nice name. Say, wanna come to my carnival after classes? It will be fun!"

This feels like a threat. But I can't say no! Uuuuu, how do I avoid this? "I-I'll show up," Hanako blurted out. I avoid it by doing exactly not the thing I just did! Why am I like this? What did I do to deserve being me? With a quick bow, Hanako turned and bolted away. She screwed that up at every possible turn.

"I-I'll show up,"

Yay! This could definitely be a possible friend.

"Great! I look forward to...." Yuna stopped when she noticed that her newfound friend had decided to turn around and run away.

Probably late for class... OH SHOOT! I am too!

With that, Yuna took off, ready for a the beginning of the School year, and eager to make even more friends. When she arrived, she noticed that Hanako was in the same class as her for first period.

"Hi Hanako!" She said as she walked into the classroom. But this only seemed to make the poor girl's head sink down in embarrassment.

I've got to remember that she's shy...

Yuna walked over to where Hanako was sitting, and took her seat next to her friend. She hoped that this would help strengthen a bond between them, by sitting together for the year. But, it seemed that Hanako was even more shy with her sitting there.

"It's ok Hanako. I'm not gonna hurt you or anything.."
