Maeriberii Haan Posted November 7, 2017 Report Share Posted November 7, 2017 Looks really solid. I think with that material requirement, you can do a lot of fun things with it, but sadly unlike the Metalfoe link, the search isn't generic. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
VCR_CAT Posted November 7, 2017 Report Share Posted November 7, 2017 It's good. Not as spicy or ground-breaking as Electrum or Needlefibre or anything, but it's not bad. I like how on float it essentially lets you summon any WATER from your Deck if you so please. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Ryusei the Morning Star Posted November 7, 2017 Author Report Share Posted November 7, 2017 I like that you can send Prince (copy #2/3) with the second effect, summon one dragoon out of grave, and use prince to summon the second dragoon. At that pt you have a double goon dweller Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

At that pt you have a double goon dweller Can't use that effect proactively, since it depends on your opponent making the decision to destroy it, so that's not a play I'd rely on doing beyond gaining value. ~~~~ Posted November 7, 2017 Report Share Posted November 7, 2017 So this what you make going first? EDIT: In North America, if you summon the thing you send the the GY with its (3) effect, you won't get that thing's "If sent to GY as a cost..." effect. But in the rest of the world you will, giving this card significant, if not massive, advantage outside NA vs inside. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Darj Posted November 7, 2017 Report Share Posted November 7, 2017 Is the float effect like Hushed Psychic Cleric/Zombie Master in that it needs an appropriate target already in the GY to activate? Or is it not bound to that requirement because it can mill a potential target on its own?Then again, I'm guessing it is because then it could enable situations like milling a WATER that cannot be Special Summoned. I wonder if there is a way to "enginize" this and Mermail techs in non-Mermail Aqua/Fish/Sea Serpent decks. If only it could grab "Abyss-" Spell/Traps too xD Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Dragulas Posted November 7, 2017 Report Share Posted November 7, 2017 The materials require to be specifically 2 of the above types or 2 monsters of any combination of those? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Babymon Posted November 7, 2017 Report Share Posted November 7, 2017 The materials on this card are too specific and it's effect is sub par. Not worth using in a solid mermail deck. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Tinkerer Posted November 7, 2017 Report Share Posted November 7, 2017 It's kinda awkward that it only has use during your opponent's turn, but on the plus side it's a Drident for Mermails, so that's cool. Totes gonna use this for Superanceient Deepsea King Coelacanth.dek though if I can. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
~~~~ Posted November 7, 2017 Report Share Posted November 7, 2017 Totes gonna use this for Superanceient Deepsea King Coelacanth.dek though if I can.I considered it, but I think Mistar Boy does it better, unless you want to tech some rando mermails to use with its (2) effect. Sleepy Posted November 7, 2017 Report Share Posted November 7, 2017 I don't trust her, she's not a real mermaid...I mean, look at those legs.Something's fishy. - - - - - I'm no expert on Mermails but they don't really need the Extra Deck enough to warrant this from what I got to see over the years.A shame since this is a Foolish Burial for WATER as a cost so it sounds like a pretty amazing trigger like Prince.Didn't Mermails already have Mistar Boy? Guess Banisharks could now open up Extra Deck slots [/inb4 Banisharks care even less about Extra Deck]Something will come up.Does this card have a real place? I suppose it is kind of a Stratos. That should count for something depending on the board that builds up and if you wanna give it up for this Link..... IDK. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Thomas★Zero Posted November 7, 2017 Report Share Posted November 7, 2017 Could with this after summoning it get a Mistar boy to 1 or both this cards zones so you have 2400/2900 ATK Mistar boys, this at 2100/2600 and all your other Water Monsters with an additional 500/1000 ATK boost. Plus with this and a Mistar boy on the field it gets you set up for link 4 plays. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
VCR_CAT Posted November 11, 2017 Report Share Posted November 11, 2017 Don't destroy it then! Exactly. The float isn't pro-active, so don't be a dumb slamming into it without a plan to either stop the float or prevent it if your deck, for some reason, completely lacks non-destruction removal. ~ P O L A R I S ~ Posted November 12, 2017 Report Share Posted November 12, 2017 That's easier said than done. The play would be to have this up with a Toad at one of its arrows (in addition to probable traps) to disrupt attempts at relevant non-destroying removal, most of which that are immediately available come from the Extra Deck and take set up that is easily disrupted. Once you can starve your opponent of any options but the destroying removal that they'd be "a dumb" to use, they have no options (Paleo's win condition). This is probably a better route than the standard Mistar Boy + Toad play Paleo often goes for, and in any case should this card more relevant as Paleo support than as support for anything else including its own archetype as far as the competitive game is concerned. It does offer the same thing for Mermails and provides disruption of its own with a Quick Effect that can discard one of the Atlanteans, but as far as I understand Mermails they're more of a going second aggro deck that are a good tier behind Paleos. If anything it's kind of annoying that the Mermails aren't just a Sea Serpent deck and that Aqua/Fish/Sea Serpent support continues to be lumped together with notable exceptions like Toad that cause the others to lag behind.
