DP19-JP016 鋼鉄の襲撃者 Heavy Metal Raiders
Field Spell Card

(2) Once per turn: If a monster you control whose original Attribute and Type are DARK and Machine destroys a card on the field (by battle or its card effect): You can Special Summon 1 DARK Machine monster from your hand.

Heavy Metal Raiders is HILARIOUS in Gimmick Puppets. It's basically their new Field Spell.

Cross Dimension is great for moving your Ancient Gear Fusions out of the EMZ to make room for more Fusions.

I can tell you right now that HMR will not be used in GP because it doesn't help the actual issues with the deck.

Something something Heavy Metal Raiders and Meklord Emperor Wisel. Wisel's spell negation comes coupled with destruction so you could summon out another monster from your hand every time you negate something.

Cross Dimension essentially provides both targeting protection and (a limited) destruction protection to a deck that's susceptible to it, which isn't bad. My question is why they'd pick that scene to make into a card. Granted there probably aren't that many great choices, but still...

Heavy Metal Raiders, fascinating card, battle protection that also boosts their ATK, so you lock out another potential attack, and of course the Special Summon is meant to support the gambling monsters, which is pretty neat, since you get another monster out of destroying cards, developing your play even further. I am glad this card exists, I didn't know it was something I wanted for them, but it works very well.

Competition – Cross Dimension, I don't know, I suppose you can use it to reset your EMZ, and doubling ATK can be powerful. The last effect is an odd protection, why not for all of them? I don't see that being too powerful, other Archetypes do it for all, but whatever.

When a Spell's activation is negated, it is no longer considered a card on the field, so Wisel's effect would not trigger this effect.

Heavy Metal Raiders is a pretty solid card itself but the problem with it is that...well, the overall pool of DARK Machines isn't anything to write home about and this doesn't do much to correct that. Desperado Barrel Dragon and Bomb Spider are cool but they have little to synergize as an entire deck with. I was hoping the last card would give a reason to run OG Barrel Dragon and Blowback or even have some way to cheese out Gatling Dragon. I feel like being able to normal summon a DARK Machine once per tun without tributes would have been decent enough to stick on here as a way to glue the theme together somewhat.

I looked through the list of DARK Machines and you have your options of basically a lot of archetypes that do nothing for the DARK Machine Gamble concept: Gimmick Puppets, a ton of Genex s***, Jinzo, Reactors, Cyberdarks, etc or you have an unhealthy amount of truly awful high level vanillas. All of the Bandit Keith cards work and there's the start to a solid deck here but it's not enough. I had the same issue with the Vehicroids from the last pack. Maybe we can get Pendulum Machine and Slot Machine retrains in the next booster?

Kozmo ships should meet the criteria, Dark Destroyer and Sliprider should actually be solid targets ... if you want to use this field spell with AFD or Set Rotation.

@Heavy Metal Raiders: Yay, I can make a semi-okay Ally of Justice deck... *cries in agony* On side note, I love how one of the monsters as the cameo of the card art, "Space Megatron", was never released. I mean yeah it is an awful Norm monster, but why not have it around for the sake of it being around.
