PP20-JP002 Xtra HERO Wonder Driver
Link 2 LIGHT Warrior Link Effect Monster
ATK 1900
Links: Top, Bottom
Materials: 2 “HERO” monsters
You can only use this card name’s (1) effect once per turn.
(1) If a “HERO” monster is Normal/Special Summoned to your zone this card points to: Target 1 “Fusion” or “Polymerization” Spell, or “Change” Quick-Play Spell, in your GY; Set it to your field.
(2) If this card is destroyed by battle, or if this card in its owner’s possession is destroyed by an opponent’s card effect and sent to the GY: You can Special Summon 1 “HERO” monster from your hand.

I assume this was sourced from the Org?

I mean, it's easy to field, but having only 1 downward marker doesn't really help HEROs much does it? I guess you can crash it after using its marker and 1st effect in order to free up the EMZ, but that's pretty counterproductive and slightly conditional.

Considering this and looking at the art for the pack we might get a Cool Link 3 and either a Link 1 or Main Deck X-HERO

With that having at least 1 Down Marker means you can still have a Fusion Monster in that zone which you can then use this with another Monster to Link Material later for Decode if needed so you got your Fusion Monster and more zones open to you.

Also is it me but if you played E-HERO Fusions with Vyon and the V-HERO Fusions and then this new card along with possible other X-HERO's would than mean you would be playing a VEX-HERO Deck.

I cannot but be a bit disappointed about this card as well. I was looking forward to a HERO Link2 monster, and I know beggars can't be choosers, but come on... this at the very least could have been DARK to Summon Law with any Mask Change it searches. LIGHT is fine enough for OTKs, though. And summoning the HERO from the hand, upon "passive" destruction? Uh, it's cool for Summoning Mist, Vyon or Stratos and get their effects, but you can't say it couldn't have been better, like also summoning the HERO from the GY.

the card has a good effect, but the link markers really ruin it. though i have to say, dark law doesn't need more support just yet. the largest flaw in this boy is the upwards his link marker. which is still interesting, because if you bring him back from the dead right under an extra zone, you'd still get the effect the next time you summoned said extra zone to summon a hero. the marker is terrible, but the potential applications for it are still interesting. the card really could have been better, but it'll still see lots of play, unless they unveils something even better.

Its almost like Konami decided to listen to the fans (nearly 10 years after Yu-Gi-Oh! GX ended and when we started getting new mechanics in the game) and make HERO monsters that were not just Fusions, either that or they stole someone's idea for a HERO archetype off this site.

Its funny how regarding this comment I made a while back a Link-2 Link HERO Monster (Link HERO Kosmos) that basically had Wroughtweiler effect that triggered on summon and could search the Polymerization from your deck.

Guess what... It's not the first non-Fusion HERO!

Although I guess that one doesn't count, since it's unplayable.

Yeah that's the point, the other one is illegal so it technically doesn't count. Xtra HERO Wonder Driver is the "technically" first non-Fusion Extra Deck HERO monster. Now I'm waiting for at least 1 legal HERO Synchro, Xyz, and Pendulum, maybe even a Ritual for sh!ts and giggles.

Those are lame pointers. You have to Summon on its arrow to recycle a Fusion card and that means Miracle Fusion just lost a potential plus there, as you'll have to either ladder off of this Link or use the Normal Summoned HERO as material to use up the pointed zone for a Fusion.

The effect wouldn't have been bad to be destroyed "by battle/effect" instead, so you could pop it yourself on Main Phase 1 and kept setting up.

Well, not like a HERO from hand will actually be used for a lot past Shadow Mist or Vyon anyways, but then the "2 HEROs" materials make it not work in a Neos deck.

I guess it still has potential, it is just not what I would have wanted.

Let alone that HERO is THE Fusion deck from back in the day, and I'd rather see them get support that moved the Fusions around to empty the zone without having to resort to new mechanics that are not in theme, but this is still fine I guess.

Well at least I now have a HERO Link Monster to look forward to for my HERO Deck and hope we get looking at pack numbers at lest 2 more.

Yeah wasn't it so nice of Konami to give HEROES a new type of monster card for them, 13 years later. Better late then never, right?

I have an idea on how to fix the lame pointers as sleepy so eloquently put it.

DestinyHERODarkAngel-DESO-EN-ScR-1E.png

Behold

If you have 3 or more "Destiny HERO" monsters in your Graveyard: You can discard this card, then target 1 "Destiny HERO" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it to your opponent's field in Defense Position. When a Spell Card or effect you activate resolves, negate that effect, and if you do, or if it did not have an effect, destroy that card. During your Standby Phase: You can banish this card and 1 "Destiny HERO" monster from your Graveyard; each player chooses 1 Normal Spell Card from their Deck, and places it on top of their Deck.

yw

and what.
