KILMONGER

THE DARK ASSASSINS

 

[spoiler=Description]"Kilmonger" is an archetype of DARK Warrior monsters with a playing style focused primarily on destroying monsters, whether it be through card effects or boosting their ATK. Each member of this archetype's appearance are based on different generations of assassins throughout history, though most of the influence is from the Japanese ninja; usually donned in heavily-robed, dark colours, each monster possesses a hint of demonic features in their clothing. The name "Kilmonger" is a portmanteau of the words "kill" and "monger". Various members are named after infamous, deadly poisons, with the exception of "Samil the Black Hand", which is a reference to the folklore character Samael (meaning "Venom/Poison of God") and the real-life secret military society known as the Black Hand.

 

 

[spoiler=Playing Style]The most distinguishing feature of this archetype is their ability to consistently destroy monsters, whether they be from the field, hand, Main or Extra Decks. To counterbalance their ability to vastly control the field presence of monsters, their swarming capabilities are lackluster, and consequently they do not possess any Extra Deck monsters of their own. The ATK of "Kilmongers" are average, but can become problematic with enough of their ATK-boosting cards on the field. On the other hand, their DEF is extremely weak, meaning they are not meant to be played defensively and are vulnerable to any form of battle-position changing effects. Additionally, the archetype is extremely vulnerable to any form of monster removal, effect negation or destruction invulnerability, since they cannot swarm heavily, although they do have means of protection in this regard. Lastly, the boss monster of the archetype, "Samil the Black Hand", provides an alternate method of defeating the opponent, by automatically declaring the player the winner if it has 5 Death Counters on it.

This archetype was HEAVILY inspired by various types of assassins in non-fiction, like Assassin's Creed, League of Assassins (DC Comics), Dark Brotherhood (Skyrim), and the Faceless Men (Game of Thrones), while even drawing some inspiration from real-life assassination groups like Murder, Inc. and the Black Hand. This is an archetype that I plan to keep updating and changing cards as I see fit, and hopefully I'll be able to test them out on the Duel Portal with everyone else's custom cards. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can target 1 of your opponent's monsters that is attacking or being attacked by a "Kilmonger" monster you control; lower the ATK/DEF of the target opponent's monster by 200 points x it's own Level/Rank/Link Rating, during that damage calculation only.

When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: Destroy 1 monster on the field, except this card; the destroyed monster's controller can then add 1 monster from their Deck to their hand with the same Level as the destroyed monster. When an opponent's monster is destroyed by a "Kilmonger" card you control and sent to the GY (by battle or card effect): You can add 1 "Kilmonger" card from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Kilmonger Hymlock" once per turn.

You can only use this effect of "Kilmonger Stryche" once per turn.

You can only use this effect of "Kilmonger Arseno" once per turn.

You can Ritual Summon this card with "Kilmonger's Sacrament". Cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects. Once per turn, when an opponent's monster is destroyed by a "Kilmonger" card you control and sent to the GY (by battle or card effect): Place 1 Death Counter on this card. When 5 Death Counters are on this card: You win the Duel.

Field Spell Card
All "Kilmonger" monsters gain 200 ATK. Once per turn, during either player's End Phase: You can target 1 monster that was destroyed this turn by a "Kilmonger" card you control and sent to the GY (by battle or card effect); Special Summon it to your side of the field, but it's effects are negated.

Kilmonger's Sacrament
Ritual Spell Card
This card is used to Ritual Summon "Samil the Black Hand". You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field and/or banish monsters from your opponent's GY that were destroyed by a "Kilmonger" card and sent there this turn (by battle or card effect), whose total Levels equal exactly 10.

Kilmonger Contract
Normal Spell Card
When this card is activated: Your opponent must Special Summon 1 monster from their hand or Deck, and if they do, Special Summon 1 "Kilmonger" monster from your hand or Deck with a Level equal to or lower than the opponent's Special Summoned monster. Until the end of the turn, if the Special Summoned "Kilmonger" monster were to attack or be attacked by the opponent's Special Summoned monster, the "Kilmonger" monster gains 500 ATK, and if the opponent's monster is in Defense Position, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent.

Kilmonger's Creed
Normal Spell Card
Target 1 "Underworld, Inc." or "Kilmonger" Spell/Trap Card in your GY; Return it to the hand.

Kilmonger Elimigate
Continuous Spell Card
Once per turn, during either player's turn, when a monster declares a direct attack: Negate the attack, and if you do, destroy that monster. You can only control 1 "Kilmonger Elimigate".

Kilmonger Instinct
Continuous Spell Card
When an opponent's monster is destroyed by a "Kilmonger" card you control and sent to the GY (by battle or card effect): Target 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field; Destroy it. If this card is destroyed and sent to the GY by it's own card effect: Draw 1 card.

Kilmonger Bounty
Continuous Spell Card
When an opponent's monster is destroyed by a "Kilmonger" card you control and sent to the GY (by battle or card effect): Gain Life Points equal to the Level/Rank/Link Rating of the destroyed monster x 200.

Continuous Trap Card
Once per turn, when a "Kilmonger" monster you control is destroyed and sent to the GY (by battle or card effect): During the End Phase of the same turn, you can pay Life Points equal to half the original ATK of the destroyed "Kilmonger" monster, then Special Summon it to your side of the field. You can only control 1 "Kilmonger Sacred Waters".

Kilmonger Hidden Blade
Counter Trap Card
When a "Kilmonger" monster you control is targeted for an attack: Target the attacking monster; negate the attack, then destroy the attacking monster.

Kilmonger Lethal Injection
Counter Trap Card
When a "Kilmonger" monster you control is targeted for an attack or by an opponent's card effect: Negate the attack or card effect, and if you do, destroy the targeted "Kilmonger" monster, then inflict 1000 damage to your opponent.
