When this card is Normal Summoned, you can add 1 Level 1 "Genex" monster from your Deck to your hand

If this card is added from your Deck to your hand by the effect of a "Genex" monster, you can Special Summon this card. This card cannot be used as a Synchro Material Monster, except for the Synchro Summon of a "Genex" monster.

So after experimenting with bad/outdated archetypes in the Link Era, I manage to find another combo I like: R-Genex Turbo can search out a once worthless Tuner known as R-Genex Oracle which Special Summons itself when searched. These to go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly as they make Link 2's in one go, but most importantly they make the great (since Oracle is a Tuner) Crystron_Needlefiber which is already good at starting up explosive plays with Glow-Up Bulb or Jet Synchron.

why play bad cards when you can just play good cards like Rescue pets for the same effect

I mean, yeah, this is an option, but Rescue Cat has more versatility and range. It can get Flips, Tuners, Pendulums, and even a Flip Pendulum if you're so inclined. Plus it can access assorted attributes for the attribute links. It has no archetypal applications atm, but time will probably change that, and genex has nothing anyway.

Rescue Rabbit can also accomplish similar feats, with access to any Type-based Link 2, Tuners, Pendulums, all of the Attribute Link 2s (as they release), Link Spider, and even some archetype-based Links.

The only thing this engine has on the two of them is that it can make Ib.

It's just not worth it.

Well at the very least Genex has more plays now that you indirectly mention Rescue Rabbit (Genex Controller is Normal). You make Genex sound less crappy of a Deck when you put it that way thank you for your bluntness.

You are MUCCH better off just playing Machine Duplication with Recycle Genex and Blastfan.

However, for Genex in particular, this is "fine" as a way to continue your plays. I personally think the archetype with a few changes would've become a classic to behold but they screwed it up and now we're left with 30 something cards in the archetype with little optimal synergy between them.

It's less card investment I guess

Nice! I for one like this finding, R-Genex Turbo is among my favorite monsters after all, even if it's not top tier material. I have always wanted a Level5 Genex Synchro for this combo of Turbo + Oracle, but that isn't needed anymore with Links around. The interaction these guys have with Needlefiber, as pointed out in the OP, should give it a niche, too.

I see this being compared with Cat, Rabbit and whatnot, but a notable difference here is that this involves 2 cards in the maindeck instead of 3, and of course their niches are different.

Don't stop there.

Summon R-Genex Turbo, add and Special R-Genex Oracle.

Machine Dupe Oracle, use the Field Spell for Mist Valleys (with Zephyros or Birdman or Harpie Dancer) and you now have 5 monsters.

It sounds like an awkward build, but it has potential to swarm, and vale the monsters just didn't have before.

There's Power Planner too that is Machine Dupe target and searches out Birdman.

IDK, there's potential here for something regardless. The cards almost never come full circle quick enough and that's a main problem. Like, card A searches card B, but B's Levels only search C cards, and then C does stuff with D, and THEN D can go to A if ever xD

That'd be cool. Sadly, Oracle's not a Machine. Not too sure why they made some Spellcaster.

If you're just using this to make Needlefibre, it doesn't matter that the Rescue pets can potentially make a greater variety of things. This requires fewer garnets and isn't hit as hard by Ash since you're still left with a body on board. The bigger downside is requiring Normal Summon, whereas the Rescue pets (except Hamster) can be Summoned by Skulldeat/Firewall, or even Pendulum'd and still work just fine. Thus R-Genex Turbo is probably more of a playstarter, but the Rescue pets can also be used as extenders (except Ferret which has to be an extender)
