Link 2 EARTH Rock Link Effect Monster
ATK 1450
Links: Bottom Left, Bottom Right
Materials: 2 “Gem-” monsters
The 1st and 2nd effects of this card’s name can each only be used once per turn,
(1) If this card is Link Summoned: You can add 1 “Gem-Knight” card from your Deck to your hand.
(2) You can pay 1000 LP; Fusion Summon 1 “Gem-Knight” monster from your Extra Deck, by shuffling Fusion Materials listed on it that are in your GY and/or among your banished cards into your Deck, and if you do, the Summoned monster cannot attack directly this turn

There's the DT link we needed, it's the dracoslayer

Was really tentative about this card upon first read, as I didn't see how easy this will be to get out, cuz Gem-Knights rely on their Fusion Summoning to actually swarm. You're going to have to sacrifice a Fusion in most cases to bring it out, which is a pain even with the extra search. Chances are you'll already have Fusion, and while hand advantage is great, both Absorb and Brilliant aren't searchable. Grab an Obsidian maybe? But the second effect lets you recycle those materials immediately for another Fusion Summon, and does a themed Avarice too. Really decent actually.

Shame Amethyst and Sapphire are mandatory, otherwise they could overchain this card's search.

Lore implications are bigger, it's funking master Pendulum

IDK, while I do see a resemblance to Luster Pendulum, I will remain skeptical until more evidence is revealed. Who knows, could be just coincidence or a "parallel universe, similar characters" thing.

I like how its ATK and name make a reference to Shaddoll Roots/Core. Also I'm glad the DT monters and storyline are continuing this soon, this time as Link monsters. At first I wondered if Genius would be a special case.

Flavor aside, the card is great IMO. Glad to see you can use Gem monsters like Armadillo and ever Merchant if there is any Spellcaster support that assist in getting it on the field. Searching is always welcomed, and the 2nd effect works so well with the milling from Brilliant Fusion.

White, you DO realize that's like, a Zefra'd version of Cairngorgon/Shadoll Core/Grysta... right? What with him being made out of energy and parts of Crystal, Zirconia and Master Diamond, just like Grysta was, right?

Look again at what's happening, he's made of light, and the armor is forming around him Iron man style

I do realize it's fairly similar to crystal, but if there's a link between DT and Dracoslayer, this is where we will find it

It’s named Roots. It greatly resembles Crystal, and TD probably meant to be the revived Crystal and Lapis coming together, which fits the story.

Zefraath was the 11th Zefrawho chose to use Zefracore to manifest itself. That’s why it’s purified but still nodding to Shaddoll Roots. It’ll be called Phantom Core in TCG.

There’s nothing here to suggest it’s a dracoslayer related card.

It also doesn’t seem especially good. I was really hoping the GK would be 2xNormal, but 2 Gem cards is just unwieldy. Yeah, Seraphinite helps... but Seraphinite is what this would be ideally going into.

The armor, the hair, the wings

Again:

Crystal is being encased in armor that looks extremely similar to Master's

Crystal is in his own armor

GemKnightCrystal-HA06-EN-SR-1E.png

And I dunno about you, but it looks to me like he’s bursting OUT of it.

There is nothing extremely similar about 2 knights wearing vaguely similar armor.

And you know what? You might be right. The hair looks ridiculously similar, and Luster has no idea who he was before he got dracofied. But your claim has no evidence. It’s an illusory correlation based on 1 coincidence (hair) and the fact that they’re both knights.

This is not enough evidence to prove any point.

He seems to die in this card after the war is over. All the characters on the light side are dead already.

I felt that between the hair, lack of memory, and somewhat similar armor there's a good chance that undead Crystal was summoned again to the world of the living?

Oh so it can restock your Gem-Knight to relive Brilliant Fusion (with people liking using 3 Bri and 1 Gem, that seems to fit in).

It says "Gem-" monsters. Do Gem-Knights have sub-archetypes?

If it didn't have that dash, I'd ask if it includes Gem Beasts (Crystal Beasts)..

So we still getting older Duel Terminal World cards... c,can I have Naturia Support?.....

- - - - - -

I guess if you main more than 1 Gem-Knight vanilla for the Brilliant Fusion, you could draw into it and make this with it and the Fusion as materials... huh... who am I kidding, that's hardly worth splashing into with all other Link 2s we are getting that compete on a generic sense, this is gonna be mainly for Gem-Knight decks. Which is pretty good how it can recycle monsters and Fuse in the process, and doesn't care about them being banished so even a Dark Law play doesn't really ruin them. Cool.

There's a set of (mostly) awful cards that have gem-"something" in their name like Gem Elephant that you can use. Outside of Gem Armadillo, don't use them

Ok: combos

Grinder Golem + Brifu

-Do some Grinder stuff that gets out either Skulldeat or Firewall

-Activate Brifu, using Gem-Knight Sapphire and Gem-Knight Lazuli to make Gem-Knight Aquamarine

-Use Lazuli's effect to add Sapphire from GY to hand

-Activate Skulldeat/trigger FIrewall to SS Sapphire from hand

-Link Shokan Sapphire+Aquamarine into Phantom Roots

-Aquamarine bounce Grinder Golem, Phantom Root effect search.... idk something

-Effect Phantom Root, shuffle Sapphire and Aquamarine/Lazuli to make Aquamarine

-SS Grinder, do Link sheet again, using Aquamarine to bounce Grinder again.

-linky dinky doo

I'm confused at this statement. How requiring 2 Normals would make it any better? With those effects you can barely benefit from running it in non-Gem-Knight decks, if anything in Brilliant Fusion variants, but then you would also need Normals to access it. It should be amazing for Gem-Knights, though.

Rescue Rabbit.

its good in G-K for sure, but that deck is beyond dead

EDIT: it would mean you could access it without having to run specifically gem-knights, so you can get additional synergy.

also hust gives 2x Vanilla a L/R arrow option. Less relevant post Lanpho, but.

Yes, but even if you could play this in anything with Rescue Rabbit, why would you do so? It would only be advantageous along Brilliant Fusion, but then you are speaking of a 2-card combo that both add potential dead-draws to the deck.

Besides, you can already Summon the vanilla Gem-Knights with Rabbit if you want to access this guy that badly. In fact, I could see that working: Rabbit, Brilliant and 3+ of Gem-Knight vanillas.

Edited with more, but tokens are also a big deal.

normal monsters is less restrictive than gem- at the end of the day, while giving more general usage. You can argue against it genetically, but options are better than not having them.
