O_O

The Immortal Sun is just...mean. Makes sense that it shuts down Planeswalker abilities, seeing as it is probably the reason Planeswalkers can't leave Ixalan. But wow, a whole bunch of one-sided benefits. Draw an extra card each turn, all your Spells cost less. All your creatures get +1/+1.

A Black Elder Dinosaur, though? That's...interesting. And a rather interesting ability. I'm a little curious on the ruling for this ability, because I don't really know how Magic handles things like this. It's an ability you activate from your hand, and reveal as part of the cost...but does it stop being revealed after the effect resolves, allowing you to activate it multiple times during your turn, and place multiple Prey Counters?

And despite being a "Your turn only" effect, it still seems like you can use it at Instant Speed...for whatever that may be worth.

In truth, it's just "Okay", but it's also just a Rare. 6/6 with Deathtouch for 6 is nice, and the Prey Counter thing is kind of cool, but it doesn't seem to synergize with any of the other Dino support, and it's a "random" color, so it's probably not MEANT to be Dinosaur support. It's more like a standalone card that happens to be an Elder Dino, compared to Ghalta, which can easily go into Dino decks.

It is a bit like Forecast, only I'd assume you can use this multiple times a turn and do it at instant speed.

My guess is we'll have a cycle of Legendary Elder Dinosaurs at rare since the black on would stand out too much next to Ghalta.

That's what I figured.

And that makes sense. The Elder Dinosaurs don't seem to be associated with any particular faction (they seem more like primal, hostile forces of nature), so having an Elder Dino that represents each color seems very likely, specifically BECAUSE this one is Black. I could picture the Elder Dinos being important in Limited formats as a color-generic "bomb", since they're just Rares (or, I think Ghalta is just a Rare).

Dino is some nice value for a dude. Deathtouch is again kind of pointless on big dudes but the ability is pretty great.

Sun is uhh..ok I guess. It's a decent refurbish target in God pharaoh but that's all I see it doing. It's solid for slower EDH games too.
