Avengers: Infinity War

I'm sort of indifferent to the idea of major character deaths, because for all we know they could simply not stick. Comic book characters die and come back somewhat often (not including dead parents, they usually stay dead), don't they? Heck, Doctor Strange had no issues bringing back Wong (even if that is not as major as what might happen in this movie) in his movie, so he could do it again like Dad mentioned.

I doubt that's Loki stealing the Mind Stone from Vision. Thanos has the Black Order from the Infinity event from 2013, so I believe that was actually Corvus Glaive.

Spider-Man is looking awesome in that suit, and I'm so happy to see him going on his own.

Generally expecting this movie to be about Thanos' quest for the Infinity Stones, and Avengers 4 will begin with the Gauntlet having just been completed. I'm with Kid Gambino about the Soul Stone potentially being in Wakanda.

Ah, well that makes more sense lol. I'm gonna predict that Thanos ends up trashing the Hulkbuster suit, or Bruce ends up hulking out inside it, either way resulting in the suit being destroyed, which I think would motivate Tony to make a new and improved suit... the Thanosbuster, lol.

Ohhh that's a good theory, didn't think of that. I just suspect if they do go the kill people then jk we're alive again route, it'll have something to do with Death, since it would be tragic to not include her in some way in either of these movies. I can see Strange also bargaining with her to revive his friends if he can't get his hands on the time stone, but I don't think he'll die for it (or maybe he does, and then after they defeat Thanos she's all like "nvm ill give you this freebie, here's your life back").

On another note, the more I watch the trailer, the more I start to realize how much I appreciate this happening. I'm seeing my childhood favorite characters come to life on the big screen man, all together in two films that are gonna depict one of the craziest, most hype storylines from the comics... a surreal feeling, for sure.

EDIT: Found this hilarious parody video, but I'll be damned if this doesn't accurately depict Infinity War part 1.

I forgot about Death.

Oh, I wasn't paying that close attention to the scepter, that's definitely Corvus. Also, upon watching it again I noticed another one of Thanos' goonies, Proxima Midnight, she's the one who throws the spear at Captain America. I can't believe I forgot about the Black Order, good to know they'll be there too.

I would love to see Thanos and Deadpool interact on the big screen, hopefully this does come true and we at least see like a secret ending of Part 2 with this happening, or maybe Thanos stepping over into a future Deadpool or X-Men movie. Keep your fingers crossed!

Oh yeah, there is that whole thing between Deadpool, Death, and Thanos in the comics. That'd be interesting. Doesn't Thanos curse Deadpool with immortality at some point or whatever cuz he's jealous or something?

Yeah, Deadpool seduced Lady Death, so Thanos ends up cursing him with immortality out of spite. A weird but hilarious love triangle.

Thanos looks reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally f***ing lame if you ask me. I don't know how to feel about his finalized design for this movie.

I don't think he looks that bad, if anything my only gripe with his showing in the trailer was not enough clips of his infamous smile. I think probably looks bad to people because they're used to his fully armored, unfuckwittable-grin, glowy-eyes appearance. I can agree that they definitely should've stuck with that, at least for the trailers, but at the end of the day I'm not that bothered by it.

Oh crap, I didn't notice that was her. Now that you mention it, I see her.

This will be freaking awesome.

Kudos to Marvel for breaking the record for most trailer views ever in a day.

I like Thanos being all casual, personally. I think we're in for a lot of fun with him.

Guessing he'll wreck everyone's sheet, then the good guys will band together at the very end ready to strike back, segueing into Avengers 4.

I don't know if they'll die, but I am confident they'll retire Iron Man and Captain America in some way by the end of Avengers 4. They'll pass the torch to the next gen to step up.

I'll agree in Spider-Man's new costume looking slick.

I'm definitely doing this, assuming I can remember this challenge once it's actually January lol.

In other news, HUGH JACKMAN MAY COME BACK AS WOLVERINE FOR AVENGERS 4!!!

Disney is making moves with Fox Studios to get a majority of their assets, which includes their Marvel characters, so there is a huge likelihood that we might see characters like the X-Men in the MCU! But of course, the only characters we care about are Wolverine and Deadpool, which people are speculating may make an appearance in Avengers 4. I hope this speculation becomes a reality, I'd love to see a lot of the X-Men characters finally cross over into the MCU, which opens up the potential for a lot of great movie ideas, and Disney has already shown us they know how to appeal to a true comic fan's heart... and wallet!

That'd be wild. If they do, I want it to become a complete secret with no media coverage spoiling it.

I have mixed feelings (mostly positive) about X-Men coming to Marvel, I do want to see Wolverine and Deadpool. Especially a Spider-Man/Deadpool movie that's demanding to be made.

But the anti-mutant agenda always felt oddly out of place in a world where superheroes are largely accepted. Still, crossovers would be swell.

The other huge thing I'm excited for is Marvel will have the chance to do Fantastic Four properly. They'll actually get a good movie for once.

Oh man, totally forgot about the F4. Yeah, they definitely need a good reboot. The first two F4 movies from the 2000's iirc were meh, while the one that came out a few years ago kinda just came and went, so I'm guessing that one was pretty terrible too. While the F4 are cool and everything, I want to see Dr. Doom in all his villainous glory again, he was a major player in the comics and needs to be in the MCU asap.

I forgot this point, but you're absolutely right. Once Thanos is taken down, there needs to be a new Big Bad for the MCU. Doctor Doom is the perfect candidate for this.

Fantastic Four can start planting those seeds and maybe the first villain for them would be Galactus. Marvel's earned the audience's trust to get a giant purple guy to be used for a villain.

which they kinda did for doctor strange so

A few years ago, before the Daredevil rights reverted to Marvel and we got the Netflix show, Fox was originally planning to do their own Daredevil reboot. Supposedly, Marvel offered a trade where if Fox would allow them to use Galactus and Silver Surfer for a movie, they would extend the deadline on when Fox had to get their Daredevil reboot into production. Fox refused, and since the deadline was not extended, Fox failed to meet it, which is how Marvel got Daredevil back.

So Marvel probably has been planning to use Galactus and Silver Surfer for a while.

Personally, I think the best way to do Doctor Doom as the MCU's Big Bad would be to adapt Secret Wars, either the original 1980's story, or the 2015 event. Either one could work, but I feel like it would be hard to have a title that feels a powerful as "Infinity War".

Incidentally, Ben Mendelsohn has said he wants to play Doctor Doom. I loved him as Krennic in Rogue One, so I'd be down for that.

Huh, I did not know about that! As far as big bads go, I doubt Thanos is gonna be out of the picture after the Infinity Wars, but taking Fox's assets definitely opens up the floodgates for a lot more of the fan-favorite heroes AND villains to be utilized in the MCU (Doctor Doom, Magneto, Super Skrull, Galactus, Phoenix Force, maybe even Onslaught?!?!), not to mention we still got folks like Dormammu, who I can see the Avengers fighting, and Annihilus for the GotG.

Also, I was thinking about a good way to incorporate the X-Men into the already-established Avengers-dominant universe they've created and I realize another story that would be good other than the Secret Wars would be the Avengers vs X-Men story. That was a pretty good one for me and I feel like if X-Men were to make it to the MCU, Disney just wouldn't pass up the chance.

I honestly believe this is what they're gonna prep for next.

And if the actors were up for it, they could make a big return for Secret Wars so Marvel can hype it up to be even bigger than Infinity War was, if superhero hype hasn't completely fizzled out by then.

Kinda crazy how far the MCU has come and how hugely successful it's been. I recently rewatched Iron Man, the movie that kicked everything off, and it's strange to think about the origin of something like the MCU. I've never been a huge comic reader so I think the only reason I even knew who Iron Man was was because of the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance game I played as a kid. By that time Marvel had licensed off their really big stuff like Spider-Man and the X-Men, and when they were coming out with Iron Man I don't even remember what sort of expectations I had for it, if I had any. I'm sure to a lot of people he was just a B-list superhero, but now look at him. To think he might be gone soon after all this Infinity War business is over.

Fears of Disney becoming too powerful aside, lot of exciting possibilities for Marvel superhero movies.

Deadpool is also staying rated R in case anyone was worried.

I don't know if it's too late for any of them to make Avengers 4, I'd love like a post-credits scene where Deadpool comes in to help after everything's over already.

I'm wondering if the current Dark Phoenix movie is going to be carried out or be retooled/recast or any of that. I'd be fine if they scrapped it entirely to be honest, I'd rather them tell other stories and develop Jean more before delving into her big movie.
