Thoughts on the upcoming list

OCG list thoughts:

 

Grinder Golem should get banned, but won't due to it's recent Reprint in the SD33.

 

Tribe Infecting Virus is a likely move to 2, it also got reprinted in the SD33.

 

Other cards that got reprinted in SD33 that have a good chance of moving up are Reborn Tengu (2->3 for links).

 

Reasoning (1->2, infernoids no longer use it).

 

Genex Ally Birdman (1->2 Harpie FTK is long dead, Valley is still limited, could help BA recycle TGU)

 

Future Fusion/Stratos to 3 seem fine

 

Heroes were the second (for a while) best deck to Spyral (pre link Vrains), if you consider a deck getting 6-7% to 80% significant. Third Stratos is safer than a second mist in light of the new Hero Links

 

FuFu hasn't done much, Infernoid's don't use it. Can safely go from 2->3

 

Dinos don't really need a hit, 1 Denglong isn't the end of the world. 

 

Secrets/Aleister/Reborn/REDMD are possible semis. 

 

Three of those were reprinted in Link Vrains and boost a supported archetype

 

Aleister/Secrets were just limited last list, but they got links...the problem is they're too generic...with the name copying Aleister, I doubt either will be at 2 this list. Secrets has a better chance. 

 

REDMD being lax'd would be the final 2012 meta unrestriction. 

 

Reborn to 2 might happen in mirror of Avarice to 2, but that's a pretty risky move. Just up OCG's alley.

 

PEPE/Construct unbans possible

 

Plushfire/Juggler have a good chance to be unbanned, Construct a decent but less certain one.

 

New Links made Monkey dangerous again. Most everything else needs erratas however slight.

Could happen in the RC, but no idea what the cards might be

 

They could move DAD to 2, they tried it once, but 2014 was a different age.

 

TCG has necroface at 2, but IDK OCG knows or cares about it.

 

TGU/Shruit are too powerful to move, but Nekroz of Brio might go to 2

 

TIV and Dragoons are a safer move than Diva, so I think diva will stay at 1 too.

 

1 Dante makes BA rely on other plays, and moving it to multiple seems like a pretty big move, but it has a better chance than TGU. 

 

If lock boards don't get better (and construct doesn't return) super poly to 2 might be a nice raigeki for decks.

 

It's more costly cause of the discard and ED investment, but might be worth it. Teleport to 2 would be a nice boost to kozmo. Ring of Destruction will never move it seems.

 

Gishki Gustkraken can move to 3 pretty safely, Maxx should too IMO, but the chance is better that OCG copies TCG and puts it and Ash to 1.

 

Demise, Hole, and Avarice should stay at 2. Fossil Dig will eventually go back to 3, but Dinos are good right now. 

 

They're likely not going to move Dandy to three esp with Link abuse and the new Aroma monster...or maybe they'll move it to three for that reason alone.

 

Union Hanger to 3, given ABC is at 1, seems fair.

 

Set Rotation got reprinted in SD33, so it's not going to 1, better way to kill it is to limit Spyral Resort

 

Quick Fix needs a limit, too soon for a ban. Drone was a smart limit on TCG's part, double helix might work too. 

 

I think Dupe and Double Summon are degenerate, but no idea if they'll get hit. If secrets doesn't move, it's plausible that Ice Bell will go from 2 ->3 (or maybe they'll errata judgment)

 

Firewall needs a limit, but protag monster basically means it wont get one. Prove me wrong konami

 

No idea what a ban might be; maybe we'll get none? More than likely if there is one it's one of the following: Gofu/AFD/Trigate

 

 

My somewhat reasonable/somewhat wishful predictions is:
