Future Changes to the TCG/OCG Discussion Section - Final Draft

Recommended Posts

Behold now mortals! Err, members. Below you will find the final draft of the changes to the TCG/OCG Discussion section. It's just a revamping of the rules, which will become effective come February 1st.

(_|The New TCG/OCG Discussion Section Rulebook|_)

Below you will find the rules for the TCG/OCG Discussion section.

Rule #1: YCM Forum Rules Clause

Follow these rules here in this section as you would any other section. If you wish to see these rules, click here.

Failure to comply will result in 1 WP for each breach.

Rule #2: The Civility Clause (AKA the Don't be a Dick to Each Other Clause)

This clause dictates that civility and courtesy must be maintained in this section, and while it is UTTERLY dreadful that people should have a different opinion than you, posting in TCG/OCG Discussion section requires you to be respectful of the opinions of others and not be a dick about it either. Nor should you deliberately rile someone up or attempt a loophole in this rule to get other people to start fights. It's not on.

Failure to comply will result in a verbal warning(s) via PM.

Failure to comply with the verbal warning(s) will result in an appropriate amount of warn points based on how much arguing occurred.

Rule #3: The Advanced Clause (AKA the Anti-Shitposting Clause)

This clause dictates that thoughtful discussion must be present in the TCG/OCG Discussion section, and it is mandated through four Sub-Rules:

Sub-Rule #1: Thread Name Clause

If you are to post a card(s) in the TCG/OCG Discussion section, you MUST include the name of the card/archetype in the name of the topic thread, as not including the name is confusing and clickbaiting.

(_|Examples|_)

"Poki Draco" is CORRECT

"Baby Dragonite Holding an Aspear Berry (Poki Draco)" is CORRECT

"Baby Dragonite Holding an Aspear Berry" is INCORRECT

Also, any card from the anime or manga you wish to discuss must include the appropriate [ANIME] and/or [MANGA] tags in the thread topic name as to not confuse people by making them believe said cards have been made. It's just douchey.

Failure to Comply will result in 1 WP and your thread's name will be altered to what is correct.

Changing these edits will result in 2 WP.

Sub-Rule #2: Opening Post Advanced Clause

When posting a card in the TCG/OCG Discussion section for discussion, it is the obligation of the original poster to provide at least one complete line of thoughtful discussion to the card(s) in question, in order to provoke discussion from other people. I will say this again, it must be at least ONE complete line of actual, thoughtful, discussion. Thoughtful discussion can be discussing how the card applies to the current gamestate, card lore, or your thoughts on the card(s) as its own entity.

Exclusion Clause: Cards that have been revealed for less than a week are excluded from Sub-Rule #1.

Failure to comply with this Sub-Rule will result in a verbal warning to edit your post within 24 hours.
Failure to comply with the verbal warning will result in 1 WP and then an increasing amount of WP for each additional 24 hours of failed compliance.

Sub-Rule #3: Discussion Posting Advanced Clause

When posting in a discussion topic, a person MUST provide some actual, beneficial thought towards the topic at hand. There is no minimum in length, just so long as you add something of value to the discussion. Then you can joke as much as you like. Also, and I want to be 100% clear here, saying any variation of "This card sucks" without explaining why is NOT beneficial discussion. For what is beneficial discussion, see Sub-Rule #2.

Failure to comply with this Sub-Rule will result in 1 WP.

Sub-Rule #4: Blank Card Clause

Cards who HAVE NOT had their effects (and names) revealed yet are to be posted in the TCG/OCG News, Information, and Tournaments section, as no valuable discussion can be be gained by discussing a card with unknown impact in this game. It isn't discussion-worthy, it's news-worthy.

Failure to comply with this Sub-Rule will result in 1 WP and your topic will be moved to the TCG/OCG News, Information, and Tournaments section.

All WP applied will come with a PM explaining why you have received them.
