[DPR][Written] Deadly Sin Mimic

Prompt: Deadly Sin Mimic: Archetype of Level 1-7 Tuners that can Tribute themselves and other monsters you control to “Synchro Summon” high Level Tokens, which would usually be Normal Monsters, except that each of the Tuners can treat the Tokens as Effect Monsters and have them gain effects with a similar wording as Gemini and Noble Knight Monsters.

You can Tribute this card and 1 non-Token “Deadly Sin Mimic” monster you control; Special Summon 1 “Deadly Sin Mimic Token” (DARK | Fiend | ATK ? | DEF ?). It’s original ATK, DEF, and Level is equal to the combined ATK, DEF, and Level of the monsters Tributed. If this card is Tributed: You can target 1 non-effect Token you control; it becomes an Effect Monster with this effect.

● Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can target 1 monster on the field; it loses 600 ATK and DEF, also it cannot attack this turn.

You can Tribute this card and 1 non-Token "Deadly Sin Mimic" monster you control; Special Summon 1 "Deadly Sin Mimic Token" (DARK | Fiend | ATK ? | DEF ?) whose ATK, DEF and Level are equal to the combined ATK, DEF and Level of the monsters Tributed by this effect. If this card is Tributed: You can target 1 non-effect Token you control; it becomes an Effect Monster with this effect.

Once per turn: You can target 1 monster on the field; this card gains that monster’s original effects, then, that monster’s effects are negated. These changes last until the end of the turn.

If this card would destroy a monster by battle, you can switch control of that monster to your field instead, but it cannot attack this turn.

Each time your opponent Special Summons a monster(s): You can discard 1 random card from your opponent’s hand. Once per turn, during your End Phase, discard 1 card or destroy this card.

* This card must attack if able. When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can draw 1 card, and if the revealed card was a "Deadly Sin" or "Sin Relic" card, this card can attack again.

Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned by banishing 2 "Deadly Sin Mimic" monsters from your field or GY. You can Tribute this monster and 1 non-Token "Deadly Sin Mimic" monster you control; Special Summon 1 "Deadly Sin Mimic Token" (DARK | Fiend | ATK ? | DEF ?) whose ATK, DEF and Level are equal to the combined ATK, DEF and Level of the monsters Tributed by this effect.  If this card is Tributed: You can target 1 non-effect Token you control; it becomes an Effect Monster with this effect.

* Unaffected by other monster effects. Other monsters you control cannot attack. When this card destroys a monster by battle: You can Tribute 1 monster; inflict damage equal to that card's ATK, and if you do, destroy this card.

* Add 1 "Deadly Sin Mimic" or "Sin Relic" card from your GY to your hand.

* Target 1 monster your opponent controls; that monster has its effects negated.

If “Sin Relic - Fire Lake” is in your GY, you can banish it; activate both effects instead.

* Destroy 1 monster your opponent controls.

* Special Summon 1 "Deadly Sin Mimic Token" (DARK | Fiend | Level 4 | ATK 1800 | DEF 1800).

If “Sin Relic - Ice Lake” is in your GY, you can banish it; activate both effects instead.

 

Sin Relic - Escape

Quick-Play Spell

Target 1 "Deadly Sin Mimic" monster that is banished or in your GY; Special Summon that target. Destroy it during the next End Phase.

Discard 1 card to add 1 of your banished "Deadly Sin Mimic" monsters to your hand.

Being very archetypal, there's not much interaction with other decks to mention. Transmodify is an easy way to get from any card to any card, and so will probably merit you running at least 1 of every MD monsters, despite some lackluster effects such as Wraff. I don't understand Enivy's granted effect, btw; why does it give the targeted monster the Deadly Sin monster's effects, and then immediately negate it? Anyway, you'll probably be running 3 Gluttony and 3 Gred, and various combinations of the other cards with varying effectiveness. Pryde's extra 400 ATK/DEF is not worth its extra banishing, however its effect in the GY almost is: Making it unaffected by other monster effects means that it won't be able to gain other effects from your monsters; whether that is intentional or not, it is almost certainly a 0-off. You can rely on Circles for any sort of protection.

 

Not a fan of Tantalizing Prize. Second effect has a little more restrictive punishment than the first, as your monster is probably going in your GY at the end of your turn anyway, but combined with the choice of you being able to draw a card instead, and it banishing all copies of that card from your hand even though mostly likely you either set it or vomited it out somehow, makes it just a weirdly, if fittingly, designed card for the archetype. I would either plainly nerf it, or just add an archetypal restriction somewhere. Also, although Circles doesn't stack well, it can just be used as a Deck thinning way to easily get out continuous Spells, if you need to do it. Not a problem atm, as there are better ones (Toon Table of Contents for one) but just something for you to keep an eye on. In fact, a lack of HOPT is prevalent in the archetype's S/T, but their banishing and plain archetypal supports limits how broken they can be. Nothing really to worry about there.

 

Unfortunately, outside of opening Foolish Burial or 141, this deck really doesn't have a way of getting kick-started OR setting up the GY properly to buff up your monsters. Perhaps an Allure or Into the Void, but again, SSing and spamming monsters from the Deck and speedily getting them out of the hand isn't this archetypes specialty. Again, the higher Levels can vomit themselves out, but only by disabling a Sin in your GY, not replacing themselves, and actually requiring a Sin in your GY in the first place. Rather slow, but...

 

I do really like your implementation of the prompt, even if it is a bit samey at times. Perhaps try take some liberty with some monsters, and make their Summoning effects a little more supportive and balanced by some nerfing?
