First, to get a glaring question out the way that I'm definitely sure would have been asked right away:

BUT WHERE'S MACHINE DUPE????

While the impact of Machine Dupe within Deskbots cannot be denied, it was ultimately inconsistent, bricky, and actually not needed. I put the slots to different use, focusing instead on Needlefiber combos, making sure Deskbot 002 wasn't dead in the water if I had it in the hand, and working off of combo potential and synergies with other engines such as Symphonics. The end result is actually a fairly competent combo deck that can still switch on the classic Deskbot OTK at a dime if one so pleases, but is actually capable of first turn fields and some very strong plussing.

The simple combo that should explain some techs goes as follows:

1 Tuner + 1 non-Tuner goes into Needlefiber, Needlefiber summons O-Lion, Needlefiber + O-Lion into Summon Sorceress. O-Lion's graveyard effect procs and summons a token to Sorceress's point, Sorceress summons Deskbot 001 from the deck, and depending on my field I can go into Skulldeat with either 3 or 4 unique materials (though the 4 is typically not difficult to pull off). This grants me an additional summon, linked zones to work with, and my combos can work off of the value gained from Deskbot 002's and leading towards Pendulum Summoning at least 2 machines to proc 001 in the grave to get that free tuner that I can do with what I please.

There's a lot more other combos, and the deck is really flexible in end-goal turns, it all depends on what cards I have access to and what works best in a given turn to go into. 004 still stands as one of the strongest normal summons I can do mid-game and can really turn a duel around; Wavering Eyes adds so much value off of 005 and 006's float effects while also allowing me to search Guitaars to work off of. Guitaars gives me the option of either getting that tuner I need for Needlefiber or giving me Miccs whom I can use to combo more than 1 003 off of in a turn. Destrudo acts for his good old use of level 7 synchros, but in general can become a free body on the field to work with on Link Summons, or as that tuner I need for Needlefiber. Red Resonator, again, sets up for Needlefiber and procs 002's effect quite well, and Resonator Call adds that little extra deck thinning that Deskbots could really use to help consistency.

The deck is still bricky, as Deskbots are wont to be, but there's a lot this deck is capable of, and really it's a deck I'm quite pleased with after testing it thus far.

I get your reasoning behind not needing Machine Dupe and the problems with the card, and I know that you have a personal beef with Machine Dupe, but wouldn't the deck still be better with it than without it? Even if it's just 1-2 copies to try and draw into with Skulldeat.

The problems with this are, 1-2 copies are not going to be a less bricky version. It reduces the chances of opening multiples, but it reduces the chances of them being live as they're already situational cards. That's not going to help the deck at all.

Second off, if I've got Skulldeat out already chances are I've already gone into pulling out copies of 002 and the drawn Dupe is just going to be a dead card that I put to the bottom of my deck.

You've got 2 Dragon Shrine and no Foolish Burial in a deck with 1 Dragon. Destrudo recycles itself, but Dragon Shrine is OPT and doesn't have the option of sending something else.

Nice to see the Red Resonator engine gaining value with Needlefiber. The engine was teched in Cubics pre-Links with Coral Dragon and Leo, as Duza is effectively a Reborn Tengu on steroids. Speaking of which, Coral Dragon/T.G. Wonder Magician would be good here as they can be Summoned off Needlefiber's lesser-used effect and can ladder into higher-level Synchros including Jet or make another Needlefiber if they survive.

Omitting Machine Dupe in a deck where every member of the archetype is a target does seem suboptimal. They were made with Machine Dupe in mind, it's not going to get any more value then it is here and that value has increased if anything with the advent of Link shenanigans, but you've made a point of omitting and I don't know the stipulations of your test so that's your call. If it were me I'd scrap the Symph engine for Maxx C (you go second anyway rite and it's kinda the best card either way), Dupes, and Ashes.

Other than that looks pretty fun.

Targets wasn't so much the matter as having a card that I wanted to see in the grave often did. Two copies was under the thinking that I wanted a more consistent means of getting it in the grave than just Foolish while simultaneously not running Ravine/Terraforming. It worked for that purpose, but having both turn up, as unlikely as it's supposed to be, has just happened a few too many times. So, I dropped both for a Foolish and a Maxx "C".

Red Resonator is a nice card overall for decks like this, and it's come in handy. Right now, however, using Needlefiber to ladder into Sorceress and, inevitably, Skulldeat or a different Link 4, proves to be the more potent play with better immediate value. Right now the Extra Deck is in a really good place, so unless blatantly great cards I can take advantage of come out, I'm a little hesitant to rock the boat there.

I mean, it seems sub-optimal, but in reality Machine Dupe was only really good used on 002, and such an interaction was inconsistent. You're not running more than 1 copy of 001 typically, and using it on the others is a dead-end meme that doesn't really allow me to follow up into any spectacular plays. There are plays that it can springboard off of, but those require amounts of setup that make those moments far more situational than even just opening 002 and Dupe.

In decks like SPYRAL where you can grab your one target out of the deck almost whenever you want, Dupe works amazingly. Deskbots don't work that consistently, and if I want to focus the deck into something that's more functional and consistent, then Machine Dupe isn't a card that's immune to me questioning its ultimate value in the deck, and it's a card that I've found to be nothing more than a high-value yet pretty situational meme that only served to lower the consistency of an already pretty inconsistent deck.

The Symphonic engine is used way too often for this deck, and the interactions are far too good for me to just scrap it. Throwing out those cards goes against playtesting and removes a lot of high-value combos that I can do off of seemingly bricky hands. Even just a few minutes ago I opened Guitaars, 002, Wavering, 006, and 009. By any rights that hand is a brick, yet I did Guitaars and 006 to pendulum summon 002 to search 003, Guitaar's effect to discard 009 to summon Miccs, and I could go from there summoning 003 to summon another 002, use 003, 002, and Miccs for Summon Sorceress, Wavering Eyes to blow up my scales, 006 recycles 003, use my second normal to re-summon 003, and I just went from there into Skulldeat and other plays.

That's one anecdotal example, yes, but it's one of many. There's a lot of synergy between Symphonics and Deskbots and a lot of plays you can do. As much of a go-second deck this is, dropping this engine is going to make the deck objectively weaker as a whole.
