AGMGift Eshai "Sunken Spirits" Archetype [WRITTEN]

Hello, fine peoples!

 

It seems that I got Eshai's name picked out of the AGM hat this year!

 

He'd specified some interesting things that he'd wanted to see and... welp, I hope it meets his expectations.  Let's turn a WATER Zombie Gemini Spirit Deck into an AGM meta contender, shall we?

Cannot be Special Summoned except from the Graveyard. This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. You can discard this card; add 1 "Sunken Spirit" card from your Deck to your hand. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect: If a card is returned to your hand: inflict 1000 damage to your opponent. Once per turn (Quick Effect): you can Set this card; WATER monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle this turn. During the End Phase return this Effect monster you control to the hand.

Cannot be Special Summoned except from the Graveyard. This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. You can discard this card; target 1 "Sunken Spirit" monster in your Graveyard: Special Summon that target. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect: This card can attack directly. If this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent; you can Special Summon 1 WATER monster from your Graveyard. During the End Phase return this Effect monster you control to the hand.

Cannot be Special Summoned except from the Graveyard. This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. You can discard this card and target 1 "Sunken Spirit" card in your Graveyard; add that target to your hand. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect: This card can attack all monsters your opponent controls once each. At the start of the Damage Step, if this card battles a non-WATER monster: you can destroy that monster. During the End Phase return this Effect monster you control to the hand.

While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect: The Normal Summon of Spirit Monsters don't use your 1 Normal Summon of the turn. If a card(s) is sent to your Graveyard: your opponent must send 1 card they control to the Graveyard. During the End Phase return this Effect monster you control to the hand.

Cannot be Special Summoned except from the Graveyard. This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect: The Normal Summon of Gemini Monsters don't use your 1 Normal Summon of the turn. If a card(s) is added to your hand: your opponent must send 1 card from their hand to the Graveyard. During the End Phase return this Effect monster you control to the hand.

Cannot be Special Summoned except from the Graveyard. This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is face-up on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it be treated as an Effect Monster with this effect: You can activate this effect: for the rest of the turn, neither player can Special Summon monsters, but you can Normal Summon any number of monsters this turn. "Sunken Spirit" monsters you control are unaffected by your opponent's card effects. Five times per turn: you can send the top card from your Deck to the Graveyard; if the card sent was a WATER monster, you can target 1 monster you control and 1 monster your opponent controls: either switch control of those targets OR inflict damage to your opponent equal to the difference between the two monsters' ATKs. During the End Phase return this Effect monster to the hand.

Spell
Discard 1 "Sunken Spirit" card; draw 2 cards. If your opponent declares an attack while you control no monsters, you can banish this card from your Graveyard and target 1 "Sunken Spirit" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target, but send it to the Graveyard at the start of the End Phase.

Sunken Spirit's Cannon
Equip Spell
Equip only to a Spirit or Gemini monster. The equipped monster gains 500 ATK and DEF. If the equipped monster is a Normal Monster, you can discard 1 card; Normal Summon the equipped monster. If this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: you can banish this card from your Graveyard; send 1 card from your Deck to the Graveyard.

Moonrays Over Sunken Spirits
Spell
Target 1 "Sunken Spirit" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target. Destroy the monster Special Summoned by this effect during the End Phase, and if you do, you can add 1 "Sunken Spirit" card from your Deck to your hand. If your opponent declares an attack while you control no monsters, you can banish this card; the monster's ATK and DEF becomes 0, then, you can send 1 level 4 or lower monster from your Deck to the Graveyard.

Locker of Sunken Spirits
Field Spell
If a Spirit Monster you control returns to the hand: you can send the top card from your Deck to the Graveyard and target 1 card your opponent controls; return that target to its owner's hand. While a Gemini monster on the field is treated as a Normal monster: twice per turn, it cannot be destroyed by battle or card effect. While you control a Gemini monster(s) and a Spirit monster(s), you take no battle damage.

Trove of Sunken Spirits
Trap
Activate when your opponent declares an attack while you control no monsters. Discard 1 card; Special Summon any number of Zombie monsters from your Graveyard with different names. If a card(s) is added to your hand while this card is in the Graveyard: you can banish this card and discard those card(s); draw the same number of cards discarded by this effect.

Des-Triangle of Sunken Spirits
Quick-play Spell
Activate 1 or both of the following effects:
- Tribute 1 Spirit Monster; destroy all monsters your opponent controls
- Tribute 1 Gemini Monster; destroy all Spell/Trap cards your opponent controls
During your Main Phase (Quick Effect): You can banish this card from your Graveyard and discard 1 Spirit or Gemini monster, target 1 face-up Spell/Trap on the field; negate that target's effects on the field, also banish it when it leaves the field.

 

 

 

Unfortunately, not the most unique effects befitting the person who'd started the DPR, but hopefully one that exchanges unusual stuff for the potential to actually win while being a mixed bag of some of the... most ineffective sub-types in the game.
