Am wishing for a TCG Ban List...

Still as its Christmas is tomorrow and the next TCG list is not far of am going to make a guess of some changes plus some wishful changes as well.

 

Banned:

Limited:

This list ideally adds a bit of a check on Grinder Golem Shinanigans and Maxx "C" plays while adding checks to Pendulum, Trickstar, Spyral and follow some of the likely options for the TCG. In addition also limited Ash Blossom and Ghost Ogre due to how the meta seemed partly ran by running so many hand traps like these at 3 in the deck.

 

* Depends on if certain cards from Link Vrains Pack gets released in TCG.

IDK if I did a great job with ideas of what may happen in the list though this is sort of what I think could happen like how Compulsory could be unlimited since one copy doesn't do much against a mass summoning board and semi limited Bottomless where it would be nice for a second copy in the game.

 

Still what are your guys thoughts and wishes for what you want to see on the ban list.

Agreed with the above. As annoying as it may be, I doubt "1st-turn Killer board vs. hand Traps" formats are leaving the scene anytime soon. You should put them all as "Wishful Thinking". Also IMO it's too soon to hit Grinder Golem when TCG is just starting to profit from it.

Those aside, your list looks mostly fine, although I would outright ban Level Eater and Limit Stratos instead, the latter to test the waters with HEROes first.

I don't have a problem with hitting Ash, Ogre, and Droll, as they do as much for "1st-turn killer boards" as they do against them, and everything that runs such boards runs them. Those decks that can consistently pump out full fields with Spell Speed 2+ negations/disruptors for a minimal investment are better off curbed by the list rather than cards that indiscriminately hit everything including decks that aren't on the list's radar. Maxx "C" is a little more nuanced as it's significantly better when going second, but I'd be happy to see it banned alongside decks that do an offensive level of Special Summoning on an offensively consistent basis, as it shouldn't be on the players to hard-draw into Maxx "C" to keep plays involving 10+ Special Summons in check. 

 

That said, without these hand traps you'd have an FTK problem on the horizon, with Plants and Gem-Knights being the most prominent. Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis should absolutely be banned as its FTK has permeated the OCG metagame. Banning Gem-Knight Lady Lapis Lazuli deals with Gem-Knight FTKs, though it can easily be argued that Brilliant Fusion is a problem in its own right. Amazon Archer and [Toon] Cannon Soldier also do nothing for the game but FTK and can be searched through various means including Extra Deck monsters. For this reason, Amazon Archer in particular is every bit as bad as Mass Driver IMO and is the finisher for Infernity and Six Samurai FTKs alike. 

 

Grinder Golem is more or less a fair tech until Security Dragon comes out, but that's just a matter of time and we all know what happens from there. 

 

This list is fine if a little unimaginative. It hits hand traps, Grinder Golem and this format's "big 3" pretty hard, but in their wake you'd probably have Plants (assuming Jasmine is in EXFO) and Paleozoics (until FLOD) dominating in their wake with a decent rogue pool of Zefra/Heroes/Overtex Dinos/Lightsworns/BA's/Invoked/Trickstars.

This list is more unguided circle jerk on cards rather than cards that actually need to be hit. Sorry for bold text I'm on my phone and too lazy to fix it.

 

Banned:
Grinder Golem (this card doesn't need to be hit imo, your extra deck is lacking unless you draw it.)
Maxx "C" Why ban when this card needs to be at 3 lol

 

Ashe, Ogre nor Droll need to be touched at all. Ashe and Ogre are one for one trades that see very little usage outside of that. They are not broken. As annoying as getting Droll used against you, they -1 and you still get a card search. All three cards are able to be played around quite easily. As useful as hand traps are they tend to be quite the brick. Most people side them out game 3 going first because that sheet doesn't advance your gamestate turn 1.

 

Master Peace is doing sheet all for meta so I don't know why you want him hit.

 

Reincarnation doesn't need to be hit. It's really not that great of a card. A lot of players are dropping it to 1 anyways. 

 

Seems like you have a hard on hate for Pend Mags for some reason. Spyrals don't need to be hit anymore than they already have. They are currently the best deck yes, but they are not tier 0 anymore.

Grinder golem doesnt need a ban until we get security dragon. If the intention of the list is to get rid of hand traps, you might as well include gamma just for the sake of it. If there is the slightest of possibilities for konami to hit them (current wave of hand traps), it will be only because a new wave needs to be promoted (not gonna lie i would be a little happy because im sick using 5-10 slots in every deck dedicated to handtraps just because i need them, unfortunately WE NEED THEM). Stratos has only been included in wish lists, there is no reason at all for konami to bring it back (its something they should but dont want to), all of this at 1, to 2 (and not hitting other hero stuff) is ridiculous
