Paleozoic Yohoia (Normal Trap Card)
Inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each "Paleozoic" Trap in your GY with a different name. You can only use this effect of "Paleozoic Yohoia" once per turn. Once per Chain, when a Trap Card is activated while this card is in your GY: You can Special Summon this card as a Normal Monster (Aqua/WATER/Level 2/ATK 1200/DEF 0). (This card is NOT treated as a Trap.) If Summoned this way, this card is unaffected by monster effects, also banish it when it leaves the field.

​Yeah because Paleozoics were in such dire need to pull off a burn OTK, am I right? (I'm not right and I know that.) This card is as simple to understand as breathing; first dump a bunch of Paleozoics from your Deck with cards like That Grass Looks Greener, Foolish Burial Goods, even Paleozoic Marrrella, activate this card to do some large amount of damage (preferably at a minimum of 2000), then, and this is important, since you can only burn your opponent once per turn with this effect, instead of chaining the effects of other Paleozoics in your GY with this card, do so with another Trap as to swarm your field, then Link and Xyz Summon whatever you need to win the Duel. Honestly, I didn't know what effect to give this card at first considering the other Paleozoics cover themselves pretty well, I just thought "why not give them something that can help end the Duel faster". So I gave this card a simple burn effect that could facilitate an OTK, because why not (I'm sure someone will tell me why not though).

There are 8 current "Paleozoic" Traps, with this card there would be 9. So the Maximum you can get is 4500 burn damage. definitely respectable but having to play every "Paleozoic" Trap, even the bad ones, just makes it so that almost no one will be able to actually be able to pull that off.

 

Turn 1 you can probably setup 2-3 different names in the GY if you activate and don't revive them. With Grass maybe 4-5 different names. It's also a HOPT so we're not going to see any "Yohoia OTK".

 

Paleozoic is mainly centered around control and grinding your opponent out of resources, not ending the game fast. Granted a card that can be activated at (almost) anytime to trigger their GY effects is welcomed, probably the easiest Paleozoic to active in terms of its requirements. This card advances your game state much more than them Eldonia, Leanchoilia and maybe Hallucigenia IMHO so it's definitely not the worst Paleozoic card.

 

Might run 1, just to close out games. It's searchable so no need to run too many.

Well, a trap searcher would have been nice, just someting along the lines of "Add or set to your field 1 "Paleozoic" Trap card from your deck or GY". They have Banishment and Destruction but I don't think any card bounces to the hand so there's that, and nothing Negates a card's effect which definitely would have been cool. Not saying your card is bad, it's definitely good and worth running, it just does some non-"Paleozoic" things. Such as the Burn in general, discourages using their GY effects and also no other "Paleozoic" Trap has a HOPT (Which is probably needed for this card in particular).

Not really, Yohoia can burn the opponent enough for you to do an OTK with a few attacks if you have the right monsters on board.

well, a generous 3000 damage from this card and say, a Toadally Awesome and a Mistar Boy on board. That's 3000+2700+1900 = 7600. Still not 8000 so still not an OTK and that's with an open board. Expecting to have more than onboard means you would have to open broken.
