Okay so, from what I can tell, there was an update to the TCG that basically changed problematic text. One of the things it did was explicitly specify if Tuner, Fusion and Synchro monsters had an effect by having "Tuner/Effect" instead of just "Tuner". Could we implement that maybe? Also, does anyone know when Pendulum and Link monsters are gonna be added? I only made this thread because the comments and suggestions sections seems to be locked.

Anything pertaining to updating the cardmaker is basically not going to be added due to the admin being legitimately inactive/dead. 

 

So...

 

If you want to add in the Tuner/Effect thing, you'll just have to set the Type box to (Type) / (Tuner) and make it an Effect Monster. Can't do much about the others like Ritual/Fusion/Synchro/Xyz. 

 

 

As for the other two, not for a very long while, and again, this amounts to the admin (YCMaker) not showing his face and fixing things. We know they need to be added, but yeah, only he can fix it. Also the fact that the coding for the cardmaker is locked off at the moment.

Yeah, I'd like to direct you (and any new members who ask) to this thread.

 

 

It's not that we don't WANT to add things (we'd like them just as much as you do), but rather we CAN'T due to various reasons. But we are working on a prototype one, so maybe that can be worked. (Again, it's just a side project a few members picked up and no guarantees it'll work)

In the tutorials section, there is a guide which explains how to create custom subtypes. Despite being from mid 2011, it is still relevant. It basically comes down to copying the image location, altering the value following "subtype", and pasting the new link.

 

Regarding the question of when Pendulum/Link cards are getting added. We cannot give a definitive date, but people are working on a new version of the card maker, which will support it. From what I could gather, there are some hurdles when it comes to making it available to rest of the community (without breaking the current version even further). If that is sorted out, and the new card maker is considered stable enough, it will probably be made known.

Unless I'm misinterpreting you, this is already possible, and simple. If you want to make, say, a Tuner Effect Monster, set the subtype to Effect rather than Tuner. Then just use the Type line for the subtype. For example, if you wanted a Dragon-Type Tuner, you'd put "Dragon / Tuner" and the generated card would say "Dragon / Tuner / Effect". And if you wanted Dragon Spirit Union Tuner, you'd put "Dragon / Spirit / Union / Tuner". Really, the subtype dropdown menu is completely unnecessary.

For the most part, latter part of Yemachu's post was already noted by me, so...

 

1. The area where the cardmaker code is locked off, meaning that neither I, nor Night or Flame Dragon, can access it at the moment to see what's wrong. For those of you wondering, this is also where the forum logo is stored (so that's why I didn't add the lights). Basically, asking for a password to get in.

 

Maybe YCMaker can get in, but we all know how dead he is. 

 

2. Aforementioned cardmaker 3.0 being worked on at the moment; there's some progress but not very much. Ideally, we'd like to keep the fonts similar to what is actually used for ours (and closer to the real life, given limitations). 

 

Referring to #1, even if the code does work out elsewhere, it still requires editing the cardmaker code in the Look/Feel Module, which again, is locked off. I mean, it sucks but there's not much we can do about it.

This is technically possible already for the MAIN Deck stuff, so yeah. That, and just add Normal for vanillas (which they started doing in series 10).

 

Issue comes when you deal with Rituals and the Extra Deck monsters (say you wanted to make a Synchro Tuner with an effect; uh, we didn't get any that weren't Effect Monsters too). You could just put Tuner after the actual Type, but then it is out of order because summon type comes first, and then the side options. You can still render a Synchro Tuner, but it won't have the Effect thing at the end.

Either way, yeah, just refer to the linked thread (or stickied if you view outside here) for notes on known issues for the cardmaker.

It's alright. 

But yeah, we'd all like YCMaker to get over here, but he's been inactive since this past May (and the other admin is even worse activity-wise). 

 

Not that we refuse to make changes, but rather we can't (and also would rather not risk killing the cardmaker further if we try to modify the code ourselves).
