Yajirovader

DARK/Insect /Effect

LV5 2200/0

(1) If this card is Normal or Special Summoned in a Monster Zone other than the middle one, destroy it.

(2) Once per turn: You can move this card to an adjacent Main Monster Zone that is not occupied.

(3) Each time the opponent Normal or Special Summons exactly 1 monster: If that monster is in a different column when this effect resolves, move this card to the closest Main Monster Zone to that column, then, destroy all other cards in the same column as this card.

Not a fan of this card, the third effect is not optional and really complicates your life if you're playing any kind of back row. It gives your opponent the ability to control what row are nuked and such.

Im purely loving it for that 3rd brand new crazy effect

Since the Closest possible can either mean same or adjecent. Its either basically automaticly destroy the summoned monster or in case of Link monster usually whatever currently linked next to it

Edit: VCR explaination is better

To clarify that third effect: When your opponent summons a monster, you move it to the monster zone that's closest to this card but also right next to the column of that monster. You don't get to choose which zone. For example:

[  ][  ][x][  ][  ]
    [  ]    [  ]
[o][y][  ][z][p]

If your opponent summons their monster to X, then if your monster is in zone O, move it to zone Y. If your monster was in zone P, then it would move to zone Z.

Overall, just... not a good card. But a funny card, that's first sure. It'd definitely be very annoying to play around, but it's not going to prevent any major boards from happening if your opponent knows what they're doing.

I feel like this card is why they were against doing this kind of stuff previously, because now this is a thing that can happen. I don't even fully understand how this card works, even with it explained I feel stupid, but regardless, it's a Level 5 that has no Special Summon effect, so it's pretty much dead in the water anyway.

I love this. It's possibly my favourite card of the set.

It's actually a Reptile-Type, not an Insect, for those who care. Which is fitting due to Aliens and Worms, although I was hoping to use Insect Imitation to summon it. Reptile is still a cool Type so I'm happy.

EDIT: I'm just waiting to see the rulings on what happens if it can't move to an adjacent zone because of another monster blocking its path. Would it still destroy stuff?

Such a bizarre pack-filler card. Reminds me of Interplanetarypurplythorny Dragon what with the stats and the colour. Not very good either, given that it's easily played around, though it does have this going for it:

I think it's pretty good. If your opponent is playing a spammy deck this could certainly give them a headache as they have to plan where to put everything or they get destroyed.

[a] [c] [d] [e]

[a] [c] [d] [e]

#1. Does that mean that if it is at "[e]" and your opponent Summons at "[a]", you get to move to ""?

#2. and if your opponent Summons at "" and you control a monster at "[c]", do you move it to "[d]" or to "[a]"?

Looking at how the closest available to ""'s column is actually "[a]" but the closest it moves in a single direction due to the obstacle is "[d]".

Without the obstacle, could it choose between "[a]" and "[c]"?

It is an interesting concept, to say the least, but low stats for a high Level monster without self-Summon clauses, that can be controlled by your opponent's actions and is disrupted by both you having other monsters and your opponent Summoning to its exact column, those together are pretty much deal-breakers for the most part in terms of usefulness.

I think you'd want to leave it in the middle without having it self-move, so it has space to move 1 to a side when your opponent chooses an Extra Monster Zone.

sleepy the translation here is wrong. For a better translation (one that is also corroborated by YGOrg), click Tyretian's link to the Yajirovader wikia page.

Essentially Yajiro can only move 1 column at a time with its (3) effect, just like with its (2) effect
