(2): If this card is Special Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 “Altergeist” monster from your Deck in face-up Defense Position, except “Altergeist Multifaker”. During the turn you activate this effect, you cannot Special Summon monsters, except “Altergeist” monsters.

 

Most people are going to talk about the first effect and it's interaction with the Altergeist traps, but Alters Marionhas a swap like ability that can let them summon this out of the grave. At which point this card will instantly net you a +1

i can get behind this actually, flipping up a trap in their EP or something so you get this and a card from the deck. Reminds me of how scapegoat is just chained to EP though this is obviously significantly weaker.

Might make a nice little engine 

noticed this card just says if it's special summoned, so CotH and the like are looking sweet actually

This is actually super good for the deck when you realize it gets the effect off if special summoned in any way. Marionette and Manifestation can both trigger this. This also let's you pull off Kunquery from your deck during your opponents turn since she triggers when SS'd in any way too.

 

The trap monster being able to trigger this could lead to insane fields out of nowhere. The links just became infinitely easier to summon. This deck is going to go places now. The way everything ties together thanks to this is remarkable.

 

Definitely going to do some testing with this, Altergeist is my favorite archetype of the VRAINs era so far.

Ok, this is something, this is an easy Special Summon, along with a free other monster, doesn't negate its effects and can be used on any kind of SS. Great stuff.

After some testing I can safely state, that my original assumption is right and that this card is the linking card altergeist was lacking. In fact the card is even slightly better than expected, given that this can trigger of the new veiler trap during the first turn and it being a prime target for the revival trap, as well as getting the links rolling and being cyclable with silquitas means that this card sets up a cycling lock (and is searchable via meluseek and one for one into meluseek). All in all the synergy between this card, silquitas, protocol and marionetter is incredibly potent.
