I can't say it's not interesting, it's actually pretty neat, but it seems a bit damageable (cardboard can be quite sturdy though so it just depends on how well this stuff is put together). The Project Giant Robot-esque thing definitely caught my eye, at the very least. EDIT: Honestly I'm starting to get really excited about this. I think I'll probably end up getting the robot one. This opens up the possibility for gaming peripherals at lower costs, making higher-level gaming available to more people. But to sum it up into one sentence, this is Nintendo. This is such a Nintendo thing to do. I personally lean more toward the "this is dumb" group, but I also can't help but love it. Though I think the biggest question I've seen raised is, "how much damage can these take?". Kids are animals/monsters/destroyers of all that is holy so this can easily end up dying a lot. The only thing that worries me is how long would this keep a kid interested? From my experience, kids love flashly plastic things and also soft toys. Shradow Posted January 18, 2018 Author Report Share Posted January 18, 2018 I'm excited to see the cool things people put together for replacements since Nintendo will be selling replacement templates and stuff, you know people are gonna be custom-making their own stuff out of other materials, maybe even involve some 3D printing. I'm reminded of all those clips I've seen on /r/Overwatch with people doing things like playing Winston with a bunch of bananas, Widowmaker with a baguette, or Symmetra with a microwave, because they've got this crazy wire setup and motion control stuff they've put together. And I've absolutely come to terms with the price point, too. As someone who's worked on cosplay in the past, quality craft materials can get pricier than you'd think. I'd love it if this thing did well so Nintendo would develop more neat games, maybe eventually expand on how you can create new ways to play beyond that simple "drag and drop functionality options" programming thing that was shown with the cardboard man falling over. KatnissGod Posted February 15, 2018 Report Share Posted February 15, 2018 I'm not even sure where I stand on the spectrum of Labo haters and lovers. On one side, I stick to the argument that this youtuber brought up (mostly the fact that they expect minors to make the "toy-cons" shown in the trailer) but on the other side I kinda think this would be fun to have an play with, especially the robot and stickman. So I'll probably, maybe get it when it comes out if it turns out alright and it doesn't end up becoming the next virtual boy, but for now I'll stick to my regular switch, thank you.
