Hot damn

OT:
Shows he is doing great and really improving the nation. 43% of D and 72% of I also shows only the never trumpers are the only ones not on board and their numbers are dwindling.

I, too, am proud that my president is capable of reading and occasionally saying a coherent sentence.

also "beautiful clean coal" lmao ok

https://www.worldcoal.org/reducing-co2-emissions/carbon-capture-use-storage

Carbon capture, use and storage (CCUS) is an integrated suite of technologies that can capture up to 90% of the CO2 emissions produced from the use of fossil fuels in electricity generation and industrial processes, preventing the CO2 from entering the atmosphere.

It's a thing

shrug

I'm not going to disparage that. If people get to keep jobs and it isn't slowly destroying the world then I have no reason to complain.

I mean coal miner jobs are killing the coal miners themselves but ayyyy whatever.

Aren't we all killing ourselves slowly?

This is pretty devastating. 12 year old girl when and shot 4 other kids. No casualties.

Probably helps that he had a team of speech writers working for months on this one. I think there would be higher disapproval ratings if he rambled as much as usual.

State of the Unions are easy.

I'm not saying I disliked it, just that its success doesn't really prove anything.

"It's okay for horribly unsafe conditions to vastly lower the life expectancy of an entire job field because this girl shot some people"

I'm sorry but what? Also, casualties includes those injured, so I'm pretty sure there were more than zero.

On topic: the speech was fine. Would have been happier about it had he not continued his trend of bragging about viewership.

I actually meant to put this post in the gun thread. Was wondering where it went

[spoiler=For those who may want a slightly shorter video]

it cuts out the applause parts, and starts right at the speech, efficiency and all that.

as for the speech itself, it was delivered well enough, but the impact of it comes from the actual events referenced, and the reactions of his most vocal opponents throughout said speech (winter's video has those images, mine cuts them out)

trumps referencing of crackdowns on drug dealing rings, his attention to people who acted during tragedies, his avoidance of controversy, and his general 180 of attitude, was what made the speech that much more impressive. credit what you must to the writers, but as for his delivery, the man gets full marks. those small jabs at divisive events over the last year, such as the use of "all Americans" or his small poke at standing for the anthem, are all the more potent for their timing and delivery, the pointing out of his improvements, was a pleasant surprise, in that he remained actually humble throughout, and didn't stray far from the main narrative, it was something like watching the class clown give a 100% serious book report, and it was definitely worth watching fully, to get the full impact.
