Dark Soul Ritual

A Ritual Spell for Fiend, Spellcaster and Zombie Ritual Decks, and Archetypes like Nekroz that includes Spellcaster for example. It can be used as a simple Ritual Spell, but shines should you use it against an opponent that uses the Extra Monster Zone, since you can steal that monster for your own use. Along with that, should you not control any monsters, you get to also treat it as a Level 8 monster, bypassing Xyz and Link Monsters, making this truly a powerful card.

 

This card is used to Ritual Summon any Fiend, Spellcaster or Zombie Ritual Monster. You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field whose total Levels equal or exceed the Level of the Ritual Monster you Ritual Summon. If only your opponent controls a monster in the Extra Monster Zone, you can also Tribute that monster, and if you control no monsters, you can treat that monster as a Level 8 monster.  You can only activate 1 “Dark Soul Ritual” per turn.

A nice Prep target and good support for Nekroz and Vendreads

 

The bypassing of the difference between Link/Rank vs Level is neat as well, Level 8 is fair.  A bit annoying for Nekroz of Valkyrus since you can't use any level 8s for him but I think people play him mostly for his discard effect rather than actually summoning him.

 

Nekroz may not be too hot at playing this card since they already have 3 good ritual Spell but Vendreads would love this card since it offers ways to get over cards like Borreload and another usable ritual spell that does something.

 

Bad going first but an overall solid card.

Agreed with the above, it looks solid to me. I like that by treating the monster as Level8 it doesn't conflict with Level7 Rituals and Preparation of Rites, and that it's compatible with Northwemko, Legendary Flame Lord and Garlandolf.
