Will Link Monsters get their own "evolution gimmick" or not?

I had a strange thought about Link Monsters, out of all the Monster Card Types in the game, its the only one with a built-in condition that acts as an evolution gimmick without being one (you can use the Link Rating of a Link Monster in place of other monsters for a Link Summon, for example I can Link Summon Decode Talker with 3 Effect Monsters, OR 1 Link-2 Link Effect Monster and 1 other monster, its also interchangeable). So with that said, how to you make an evolution gimmick for Link Monsters, or how would Konami design certain Link Monsters to where their Summoning would seem like an evolution of what we already have.

Ritual Monsters don't have an evolution gimmick, Level 7 and higher Main Deck monsters have Tribute Summoning with 3 Tributes (The Egyptian God Cards), Fusion Monsters have Contact Fusion (all Gladiator Beast Fusions) and Transformation Summon (The Masked HEROES), Synchro Monsters have Accel Synchro (Shooting Quasar Dragon) and Double Tuning (Hot Red Dragon Archfiend King Calamity), Xyz Monsters have Xyz Evolution (any cards that let you use Xyz Monsters as Xyz Materials like The Zoodiac Xyz Monsters or the Rank-Up-Magic Spells), and even Pendulum Monsters have Extra Deck Pendulums (Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon), but Links already allow you to use other Links in a beneficial way for a Link Summon as stated above. I honestly am confused as to what Konami is going to do to further promote and boost Links during the VRAINS era. Yes I am aware that Links are here to stay and are now very necessary for many, many Decks that heavily rely on the Extra Deck both new and old, however in the past Konami would make an "evolution gimmick" for whatever Summoning mechanic they were pushing again as I stated above, and I also don't know if this would hurt Links or not if more players started playing more Decks that don't have a reliance on the Extra Deck.

One theory I came up with is if they backtracked and do what they did during ARC-V, that is pushing Links with other Monster Card Types (like a hypothetical Ritual and Link Archetype). Something else I thought about in this regard is using specifically names Link Materials, like if we get an evolution for Firewall Dragon that specifically lists 1 Firewall Dragon and 1 other Cyberse monster as materials, but I have to wait to see if Konami would even attempt this as it feels too much like what Fusion Summoning already is. Perhaps they will make some Link Monsters that let you move monsters from your GY (banishing them or returning them to the Deck) in order to Link Summon a high Link Rating Link Monster, Link-5 and higher more than likely. I honestly don't know, I'm just throwing around my own ideas, but I am curious as to what Konami will do with Links in the near future, before we get another new Summoning mechanic.

Well, the closest we have currently to any form of evolution theme for Links is currently the anime only Sunavalons, which are Links that build off and improve over the previous variant. So I imagine if and when they're made they'd be the basis of Link evolution; that is, improving upon a previous version of the Link.

They actually made me realize that LV monsters as a whole could exist via Links actually, with each LV being a Link number, so you could have LV1, LV2, and LV3 being Link-1, Link-2, and Link-3 respectively.

Look. We haven't even had the Summoning method out for a year. The only Link Monster in existence with a Link Rating higher than 4 is a Match Winner.
Give the anime some time, and they'll give you your super special awesome Link.

Like Broken said, the only Link so far that operates off of a clear chain are the Sunavalons, which I hope to Etro they release IRL.

To be fair we already had link requiring links for quite a while.

Double Byte Dragon, Ningirsu The World Chalice Warrior, Secure Gardna.

As well as anti link support in the form of the often underestimated Topologic Bomber Dragon.

Though I admit those evolutions could be more flashy, Gardna as an example is trash, while Ningirsu is basicly just a laddering tool.

In the end link monsters as materials for links just does not really matter as a restriction, given that laddering is far too easy with them to even care about that.
