Our locals was closed last weekend due to Magic the Slathering having some kind of gay event so we drove two hours to the hottest Yugioh city locals in our province.

I wasn't feeling Trickstars for this event so I made this in about five minutes on the drive up.

Monsters: 19

3x Ash Blossom

3x Effect Veiler

3x PSY-Frame Gamma

2x Ghost Ogre

2x Droll & Lock Bird

3x Aleistar

1x Trickstar Candina

1x Spyral Super Agent

1x PSY-Frame Driver

Spells: 17

3x Magical Meltdown

3x Terraforming

3x Scapegoat

2x Invocation

2x Pot of Desires

1x Raigeki

1x Dark Hole

1x Trickstar Light Stage

1x Spyral Resort

Traps: 4

3x Evenly Matched

1x Trickstar Reincarnation

Looking back I would take out the Drolls and side them. Mostly played them for a Wind target. Was considering Menko for the lolz but it conflicts with Scapegoat too much. Sided in Inspector Boarder vs everything not Pendulum Magicians cause Mechaba + Inspector Boarder is funny as sheet.

I went 5-1 and placed second. Lost in the final round 2-1 to the boy Jesse. Was a super fun match, but super drawn out.

I might do a tournament report on this. Will update later with my extra deck and side. I can't remember what they were and I'm too lazy to check later.

Feel free to ask about my ratios, card choices etc.

How effective was Veiler? AFAIK it's the weakest of the hand traps.

What did you side in n' out when going first?

I have seen the Resort-Agent engine before, but can you remind me if you have a way to ensure Agent's self-Summon or if you just take a guess?

If you run Scapegoat I'm assuming you also run a a kit of Links for laddering and whatnot. If so, why didn't you splash a Grinder Golem for stronger plays?

Did you consider Wind Witches and/or Spellbook of Knowledge?

Do you think a deck like this but with a Master Peace engine or core (Diagram + Master Peace + some True Draco Spell/Traps) could be effective this format?

Veiler isn't the weakest anymore since spyrals got the dick and balls. Educated guess for Spyrals. Check their grave and extra deck going 2nd. If they're playing pen mags call monster etc lmao. Windwitches are bricky and suck balls. Extra deck space is too tight to accomadate Grinder Golemn. I thought about the spellbook engine to bait out hand traps and the like, but I decided to go with the spyral and trickstars engine. I sided out drolls and scapegoats for typhoons and cyclones going second. Sided out Evenly Matched and hand traps for Solemn brigade and Anti Spells going first.

Edit: I think pure Draco is better than Invoked Draco this format. I played both last banlist here and there but it doesn't have enough control over the board to stop new Pen Mags from popping you in the mouth imo.

How do you field Inspector Boarder and Mechaba? You have to Summon Inspector first, but then

1) How did you summon Inspector so that have your NS left for Aleister?

and

2) Doesn't Inspector stop you activating Aleister's effect to search Invocation?

I can make Mechaba without using a normal summon. Or I can just make inspect boarder turn 2.

I think 3 Invocation is essential now with Veiler being everywhere. Maybe replace Drolls with that and 3rd Ogre.

Do you blind 2nd with this? Kinda need to know before commenting on other card choices.

I built it to go first or second so the die roll doesn't matter too much. I do prefer going second a little more because I can break boards but first is fine too.

Reason I didn' play 3 Ogres and 3 Invocations is cause my buddy was borrowing an Ogre for the event and I currently only own two Invocations.

Oh sheet didn't see this reply.

Yeah I figured. Been trying out a similar build recently, moved Trickstar engine into side because it sucks hard going 2nd. Spellbooks are definitely worth imo, the extra draws into more hand traps is way too good. Spyral engine seems pretty fun, it crossed my mind but I've been going with Eater instead, serves a similar purpose. I can definitely see it being viable though, gonna give it a try.

The Spyral Engine is definitely worth. I thought about Eater over the Trickstars as well but I went with the Trickstar engine cause Purgatrio + Aleister solves most of the problems Eater can.
