The effect says use as Fusion Materials, but idk.- Does being detached from an Xyz by a card effect or a cost count as sent to the GY by a card effect? Dova Posted February 14, 2018 Report Share Posted February 14, 2018 Being sent to the GY by a Fusion Spell is considered being sent to the GY as a card effect, because the effect of said Fusion Spell is sending them to the GY (not as a cost, the actual effect). Being detached from a Xyz Monster as a cost is not being sent to the GY by a card effect. The difference there is that costs are used to activate a card or effect; they're not actually the effect. However, if a card or effect has "Discard 1 card; detach 1 Xyz Material from a monster your opponent controls" or something similar, that is a card or effect, as the cost is the discard.
